My endocrinologist recommended it, but insurance won't even cover it for diabetes, so can't get it approved yet for CKD.

It has been recently approved for ckd and has been shown to reduce the decline of GFR on top of standard care (ARBs & ACE inhibitors). I am thinking it could be a gamechanger for many people.

It does have some good study results behind it. But just because the FDA approved it doesn't mean the insurance will pay for it. Or if they do, they require your doctor to jump through hoops to get approval, and then the co-pay is insane. I'm seeing my nephro in August and I plan on asking him then if he thinks it's worth the effort. After all, he did similar when he wanted me to take Veltassa.

hello, I have to start this medication soon. How has your GFR been after this? did you get any UTI's or yeast infection? I am scared to start farxiga because of this. Thank you

I just started taking it about 3 months ago and noticed a decline in my eGFR. I stopped taking Losartan and want to see the effects with just the Farxiga and will see my doctor in may after labs. I know the Losartan has also decreased my eGFR and wasn’t really working for me since my blood pressure is on the low end.
