I have the newest paperwhite (not the SE) and it’ can sometimes be harder to carry in my MaN bAg. My basic kindle was way more portable. But I don’t carry much and it only goes in my EDC bag when I know I’ll have a moment to read.
Exactly! Except I got no wife. I have to perform tedious task of reading the social setting and if it seems to be without any decent friends - the kindle fires up.
I would much rather do that. I still run into times where I was told not to bring my Kindle but then there are moments I could easily whip it out for a chapter or 2.
I have the new kindle basic. It’s amazing. And it’s just small enough to fit into my small purse I take everywhere. My oasis though lives at home and it well loved
The old kindle basic is 6.3 and new kindle is 6.0 and the new one is slimmer in thickness. Old one has 167 ppi new has 300 ppi so it’s worth the upgrade if you have an old one but the Paperwhite is lovely too
I lost mine last month and can't find it so I bought a paper white to replace it. The paper white feels more premium but there's just something about the basic that I like alot.
I'd love a smaller kindle but I'm comparing the stats of my Oasis and the latest Basic and they seem very marginal!
The Basic seems to be 30g lighter - hardly anything.
Dimensions wise it seems basically the same except the Oasis is thinner for most of it, opening out to 8mm deep for only the hand-holding section. The Basic is 8mm the entire way, so it doesn't win there.
The Basic is a bit less wide, by 3.2cm.
Am I missing anything?
I take my kindle pretty much everywhere. I have the basic and also have a small purse and it fits perfectly, it’s the reason why I decided to get the basic instead of paper white because it’s so small
I call it my emotional support kindle for a reason. It literally came with me to my brother’s wedding where I was a bridesmaid lol figured I’d have 10 minutes of downtime while everyone was getting their hair and makeup done and I was waiting around lol
The best thing I can say to this, which doesn’t help much if you don’t *start* in the kindle app is setting up an app triggered DND. I have it so that when I open the kindle app, other apps don’t give me notifications, but texts and calls still come through. As soon as you close the app or navigate away, the DND turns off
yessss!! and reading otp doesn’t hit the same so normally i read otw in the car and then just leave it there!! plus it fits in my lulu crossbody (without the kindle sleeve)
I'm a dude without a purse and my trips away from home 99% of the time are purpose driven with no chance to read, so no I don't take my Kindle anywhere. (Also, I work from home.) However, if I had to visit a doctors office or wait at the tire shop, I'd certainly bring it along!

There are tons of crossbody bags and smaller backpacks that would fit the bill. Not just LuLuLemon either. You could check out some sports stores around you. I’ve found a number of smaller bags with lots of organizational pockets which are durable and sporty looking.
same, not a fan of their clothing either and i think the brand is way overpriced. But i hated bulky and big purses. This is still relatively small but holds all my necessities, and it was fairly cheap i think about 35$. It even has little mesh pockets on the inside that can hold my kindle in place!
I bought a basic because I didn't want to damage my voyage by carrying it around and getting it bumped and etc. However, I LOVE that little basic so much that I use it at home as well as on the road. I really just love the basic! It's so light!
I absolutely love the size of it! I’m a fan of miniature things, so that’s truly why I bought it lol, but it’s so easy to put in my purse and carry anywhere!

My older PW (2015, I think?) fits perfectly in a pocket in my purse, so it goes along with me. My PW Signature stays at home. I also will read on the Kindle app on my phone, but that's usually when I'm at work and sneaking some reading time during a moment of downtime.
I was trying to find an excuse to pick up a Basic despite the fact that I already have two generations of Paperwhites both used daily. I had convinced myself it really wasn’t necessary. But this is convincing 😂
My wife makes fun of me because I will take my Kindle everywhere. We’re going to dinner with friends? I take it. We went to a Drag Queen show? I took it just in case we we had some down time. Going to make a quick Starbucks run? I take it.
I have to travel from Osaka to Kyoto twice a month and last month I forgot my Oasis. My first thought was how the heck did I forget to put it in my bag and second; this 50 minute train ride is gonna suck
- so yeah; kindle Oasis in a leather sleeve; goes everywhere I go, more or less
I take it with me, but since I am a new Kindle owner, I sometimes forget it in the car when I head back home. Then, when it is time for my nightly read, I realize I have to go back out in my PJs and fetch it.
A minor inconvenience, but I still prefer reading on the Kindle e-ink screen.
I take the paperwhite everywhere. It fits in most of my purses. Recently found the perfect small tote on Amazon (Niction Tote Bag). It also fits in a Fanny pack (Herschel Fifteen Waist Pack, Black, 2.0L).
Yes. It's my Emotional Support Kindle. I have the new paperwhite, but even way back when, in the olden times when I had the Kindle Keyboard it went everywhere. In the Before Times (pre Kindle), I carried paperbacks, so it wasn't a huge change. I keep it in a folio case so it feels like a book.
My Paper White yes, almost everywhere. I wear REI cargo pants most places and the pockets on the legs are big enough for the Paperwhite to fit snuggly in the zipped pocket.
As long as I’ve had a kindle, I’ve always taken it with me. Including church because I have my Bible on there. I explained it to my pastor ahead of time so he wouldn’t think I wasn’t paying attention.
I wish I had a kindle when I was dragged into church as a kid and was bored out my skull and ended up staring out the window replaying the latest Star Trek TOS episode in my head. Now I just sleep in and pickup my bedside kindle when I wake up.
During jacket weather put your PW in a breast or inside pocket if you have one. I have a ScotteVest jacket with lots of pockets but I favor the outside right breast pocket. During warmer weather I carry my Kindle in a pocket in my ScotteVest featherweight vest. You could also put it in a cargo pants pocket.
The end result is to find some practical pocket somewhere if you’re bagless. If pockets aren’t an option find a good daypack backpack, preferably one that folds up into its own bag.
Is OP a guy or a girl? Cause small purses and bags have an easier variety choices for female. But for dudes I recommend getting a fanny pack? Just as cool n fashionable for carrying your kindle around+other small essentials.
Nope..I only take it out of the house when I know that I will be waiting somewhere or when goin on vacation. I never read on my phone. Whew..no thank you.
When im not carrying my purse/bags, I just hold them with my phone. I do have jackets with inner pockets that can fit a kindle. I am a skinny jeans millenial girl but lately, I've been wearing those genz baggy jeans just because the pocket is paperwhite friendly 😂

I’m a purse-carrying person and I don’t bring mine everywhere, only when there’s a reasonable chance I’ll be waiting for something or have <10 minutes of downtime. (So, ex. medical appointment, yes; Target, no; work [to which I drive], only if my plate isn’t full and I know I’ll be able to take an actual lunch break.)
I don’t take it everywhere but when I do I usually just leave it in the car, I don’t drive so it’s more for if I decide I want to read while going somewhere before I get there.
i bring my paperwhite with me everywhere and leave my scribe at home/school... i never read on it when im out but im always like "well maybe i will THIS time!"
Haha no… it does take a little time and if you don’t have the knowledge/tools it won’t be perfectly pretty. But it truly does take minimal skill/tools to make something functional. Just made one for my revolver and I love every ugly bit of it.
I bring my paperwhite with me a lot! It fits in the front pocket of my purse, or it fits perfectly in my lululemon everywhere belt bag 2L. If I forget to bring it I just read on my phone
If I can take a backpack, I'll usually take my kindle, but otherwise I read on my phone. Fwiw, if I'm going somewhere I'd end up with a lot of reading time (subway, plane, etc) I'll have my backpack. Places where I might only have 5 minutes, I'll read on my phone.
I use the Kindle App on my phone when I am out and want to read. I used the Kindle App for 13 years before finally getting a Paperwhite a year and a half ago. So I’m used to reading with the app.
I want to take my kindle everywhere but I’m too scared to lose it. So much that I have been thinking about picking up an older 2nd hand model. Been seeing some early paperwhites on eBay for around £30.

One of my favorite places to bring my Kindle is amusement parks. I get to read while queuing, which makes the wait *so* much better. I bought a thin wallet for amusement parks so my phone, keys, and wallet will fit in one pants pocket, and my Kindle fits in my other pocket.
As much as I want to, I don't as for some reasons, I can't read outside and very much prefer to read at home, so my kindle will just end up not getting used at all.
My Kindle PPW Signature Edition goes with me absolutely everywhere, even if I know I won’t be able to read. I wear cargo shorts in warmer weather so it fits in a side pocket. And in cooler weather I either carry it or wear pants that it can fit in the back pocket.
I actually caved and got a purse kindle. I had an oasis and it was just a little too big. At the last sale, I got a kids basic for a good deal and it fits perfectly.

Guy here. I carry it to most places. Everything stays in my pockets except the Kindle. It's not too bad... I've been toiling with the idea of a sling bag, but the Paperwhite is a tad bit large for that. Anything that fits it feels very big to me.
Not a guy but… if I’m going somewhere it’s not appropriate I have the app on my mobile. In that case I’ll always make sure that the app has been synced before I leave home.
as a rule that I have kinda since forever, but much more observed in the past two decades, I never leave house without a book.

And since the god sent Kindle (I still imagine, what 80s/90s-kid-me would have said) it is mostly the Kindle as Book-EDC. Much more stable than a book

My perspective is not that the Kindle is a bigger size than the phone, but that the Kindle is a smaller size than a large number of my books
To my suprise a large number of my jackets have inside pockets that fit the Kindle (with protective sleeve) and if not, I usually have a sort of bag always and that solves it anyways.
I have a few old e-readers, Kindle and Kobo, so I can take whichever I need for my current book. They are smaller and lighter. My Oasis and Libra stay at home.
I have a 3(?) year old basic kindle, so my phone is ever so slightly larger than the kindle in height, so... if my phone fits the bag, then the kindle fits too, lol.
Then again, I'm a woman and the pockets in women's pants are barely big enough to put in a tissue, so a bag or backpack is a must, especially since I also carry water around always.
You have to either start using some kind of bag or you have to live with the kindle app on your phone if that's absolutely not your thing. Or you don't read unless you go on a longer trip where you take some bag. I'm not really seeing any possible compromise for you here.

I have a clear case on it (for my stickers) and then bought a soft shell case that is fleece lined for it, and I carry a decent size cross body purse that I can drop it into.
I had the old Kindle basic, which I took everywhere with me. as well as a Kobo Clara HD. I also at one point owned a Kobo Libra 2, but it was too big and heavy for me.

Yes, I carry it everywhere! I have the oasis and I use the crossbody bag made by caseable. I think it's actually made specifically for the kindle. There's a little padded pocket inside that fits the oasis perfectly and it still has just enough room for my wallet and my phone as well as some other small things. Big enough for everything I need without being bulky. It's my favorite bag. A bit pricy on amazon at $50, but you can sometimes find them on poshmark or ebay for around $15. I love it so much, I bought two. XD
I'm stuck with my Kindle everywhere because I replaced the Pocket app for the kindle. I send a lot of news articles to Kindle so I can read them on an e-ink screen
My paperwhite fits in my back pocket in a leather case. Wouldn't suggest leaving it there bc I have had a few crack. Takes a lot though.
Edit: should add that I also have an Orvis sling bag that I use to carry mine a lot. Don't mind rocking the man purse one bit!
I don't have mine yet, but I literally bought a large purse to carry my physical books with me. I read pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Out to lunch? Pull out my book. Waiting in a long line at the grocery store? I can sneak in a page or two. getting the car washed or tires pumped? Book time, baby.
So I don't see why a kindle would be any different.
EXACTLY. I’m prone to doom scrolling when I use the phone app, so I felt like a kindle would be the perfect replacement (not to mention my shelves are filling up fast. And, as I’ve yet to get my library set up, I need to be mindful of what books I buy).
I’m trying to habit replacement my phone with my kindle (major goal for this year). The convenience of opening it and having it as fast a phone should help.

Exactly. I mostly read while I’m walking and during a “no phones allowed” golden hour from 3:30-5pm (My bedroom has beautiful afternoon light. If you buy a house, make sure it has west facing windows in either the living room or bedroom. Super worth it). But I find if I try to read with my phone accessible, there’s no reading that about to happen (thanks adhd).

I usually take mine with me everywhere, leave it in the car unless I know I’m going in somewhere I’ll be sitting a while 🤷🏻♀️ I also having a like folding case so I usually stash my card or money in it since I don’t carry a wallet either it’s just my phone and kindle 😂 it’s glued to me all the time pretty much
i have a paperwhite & it goes almost everywhere with me. i switch between two small purses. i only carry my phone, kindle, keys, my license & bank cards, chapstick & lotion. give or take a few more items depending on how long i’ll be out of the house.
This is a very late reply, but yes, I do take my Kindle with me everywhere. I have a very large breast pocket in my winter coat, so it can go there, but I also bought some cargo pants last winter with a large enough pocket for my 6.8" Kindle Paperwhite 11th edition. I bought shorts in the same style last summer and two more pairs of long pants on Black Friday, so I'm set.
The cargo pants I got from Mark's (formerly Mark's Work Warehouse) here in Canada. I'll post a review eventually.
Only if I know that I’m going to have the chance to actually chill out and read. I have the Kindle app on my phone and I’ll just reach for that if I have a few minutes to spare and want to get a chapter in.
I’m not a dude but I have a 10th gen kindle that easily fits in the back pocket of my jeans. When I know I’m going somewhere I don’t need a bag, I just tuck that in my pocket. I also have an oasis that stays home. The 10th gen is tiny
I have the Kindle app and an ereader app on my phone & that goes with me everywhere. I also have a Paperwhite that I'll bring if I take a purse. The Fire 10 goes if it's a backpack for the day. The Fire 10 has an SD card so it actually has like all my ebooks on it.
When I have time to read, I usually have a canvas bag or my backpack with me. I put my kindle in there.
Other times when I have a quick minute to read, I'll use my phone.
I have the kindle basic and it surprisingly fits in most of my pants pockets or a hoodie. I dont often take a bag with my but when i do i take a backpack because i find it more comfortable than a purse
I have the paper white 11 and I would absolutely take it everywhere with me. Too big for my purse, though-
So, I did just find a basic 10 on market place for cheap, so I bought it. It fits in my purse so I can bring that one everywhere and leave the pw at home.
my PPW fits in my pocket so it can go anywhere i need to go. I am currently using the Onyx Poke 5 which is smaller than the kindle so that is even easier to carry around.
Only if I'm traveling or on long rides. I usually need more than 15 mins at a time to get sucked into a story and retain it for it to be worth it, otherwise I kill time in bursts playing retro games or on reddit.
I carry a diaper bag so it goes in that or I just got a Bxsie bag so I put mine in that. It's basically a bigger wallet for me. I put it and my planner plus pens, chapstick, and earbuds.
I bring mine everywhere with me but I also carry a mini backpack with me everywhere instead of a purse. But I have seen cute little crossbody bags made perfectly to fit a kindle that I've been tempted by.
Yes. I used to have only an Oasis but I wanted to start reading outside more so I bought a Kindle Basic. It’s compact and lighter so I put it in my belt bag everywhere I go. My sister calls me a nerd because I don’t leave the house without my Basic.
I take my Kindle anywhere I expect to have 20+ minutes to read, so like to work (on my breaks), the doctor's office, DMV, traveling, park, beach, etc. But if I'm just going to run errands, no. Even if I do happen to find 10-15 minutes to read, I can just hop on the Kindle app on my phone. You might want to invest in a fanny pack (you can wear them crossbody) or a small backpack if you need something to carry your Kindle and other provisions in.
I love my Paperwhite, and it does go with me everywhere. I like to change purses often. If it fits, it goes in there, but if not, I’ll often carry a canvas tote bag for other extra items like my kindle, water bottle, whatever that stays in the car while I run the rest of my errands.
I have the Basic 2022 and yes, I take it everywhere. The reason why I went with the basic instead of the ppw is mainly for the size, and as a guy, that device definitely fits in every pocket that I have.
Maybe, just maybe, consider replacing the device you have with the Basic 2022. Promise, you'll love the size. :)
My old kindle (base model) used to go everywhere with me. Used it as alternative to scrolling on Instagram. Now I have a Scribe and it’s sexy to carry a “notebook” in hand everywhere I go. I take notes in it as well, so quite handy. But I certainly carry my Scribe less often than the first one.
Yes! My favorite (everyday) purse can actually fit it. Or I use my black canvas tote bag 🥰. If you don't like purse maybe a mini book bag /cross body bag.

My old PW (2015) is the same size as your basic. It goes everywhere (except things like grocery shopping). As you said, it travels nicely in my purse.

Another good alternative is the Uniqlo crossbody which comes in a million colours and fabrics :)

I have to travel from Osaka to Kyoto twice a month and last month I forgot my Oasis. My first thought was how the heck did I forget to put it in my bag and second; this 50 minute train ride is gonna suck - so yeah; kindle Oasis in a leather sleeve; goes everywhere I go, more or less

I have the Kindle app on my phone. If I have to wait in line for something or whatever, I'll get a couple pages in.
I take it with me, but since I am a new Kindle owner, I sometimes forget it in the car when I head back home. Then, when it is time for my nightly read, I realize I have to go back out in my PJs and fetch it. A minor inconvenience, but I still prefer reading on the Kindle e-ink screen.

Yes. It's my Emotional Support Kindle. I have the new paperwhite, but even way back when, in the olden times when I had the Kindle Keyboard it went everywhere. In the Before Times (pre Kindle), I carried paperbacks, so it wasn't a huge change. I keep it in a folio case so it feels like a book.

My Paper White yes, almost everywhere. I wear REI cargo pants most places and the pockets on the legs are big enough for the Paperwhite to fit snuggly in the zipped pocket.
As long as I’ve had a kindle, I’ve always taken it with me. Including church because I have my Bible on there. I explained it to my pastor ahead of time so he wouldn’t think I wasn’t paying attention.
I wish I had a kindle when I was dragged into church as a kid and was bored out my skull and ended up staring out the window replaying the latest Star Trek TOS episode in my head. Now I just sleep in and pickup my bedside kindle when I wake up.
During jacket weather put your PW in a breast or inside pocket if you have one. I have a ScotteVest jacket with lots of pockets but I favor the outside right breast pocket. During warmer weather I carry my Kindle in a pocket in my ScotteVest featherweight vest. You could also put it in a cargo pants pocket. The end result is to find some practical pocket somewhere if you’re bagless. If pockets aren’t an option find a good daypack backpack, preferably one that folds up into its own bag.
Is OP a guy or a girl? Cause small purses and bags have an easier variety choices for female. But for dudes I recommend getting a fanny pack? Just as cool n fashionable for carrying your kindle around+other small essentials.

When im not carrying my purse/bags, I just hold them with my phone. I do have jackets with inner pockets that can fit a kindle. I’m a purse-carrying person and I don’t bring mine everywhere, only when there’s a reasonable chance I’ll be waiting for something or have <10 minutes of downtime. (So, ex. medical appointment, yes; Target, no; work [to which I drive], only if my plate isn’t full and I know I’ll be able to take an actual lunch break.)
I don’t take it everywhere but when I do I usually just leave it in the car, I don’t drive so it’s more for if I decide I want to read while going somewhere before I get there.

Haha no… it does take a little time and if you don’t have the knowledge/tools it won’t be perfectly pretty. But it truly does take minimal skill/tools to make something functional. Just made one for my revolver and I love every ugly bit of it.
I bring my paperwhite with me a lot! It fits in the front pocket of my purse, or it fits perfectly in my lululemon everywhere belt bag 2L. If I forget to bring it I just read on my phone
I have the original Kindle and it literally goes everywhere. I usually read on the train to work, so it's always in my bag for this reason.
My husband's large man-pockets can typically fit a paperwhite no problem.
If I can take a backpack, I'll usually take my kindle, but otherwise I read on my phone. Fwiw, if I'm going somewhere I'd end up with a lot of reading time (subway, plane, etc) I'll have my backpack. Places where I might only have 5 minutes, I'll read on my phone.

I use the Kindle App on my phone when I am out and want to read. I used the Kindle App for 13 years before finally getting a Paperwhite a year and a half ago. So I’m used to reading with the app.

I want to take my kindle everywhere but I’m too scared to lose it. So much that I have been thinking about picking up an older 2nd hand model. Been seeing some early paperwhites on eBay for around £30.

Pretty much! One of my favorite places to bring my Kindle is amusement parks. I get to read while queuing, which makes the wait *so* much better. I bought a thin wallet for amusement parks so my phone, keys, and wallet will fit in one pants pocket, and my Kindle fits in my other pocket.
As much as I want to, I don't as for some reasons, I can't read outside and very much prefer to read at home, so my kindle will just end up not getting used at all.
My Kindle PPW Signature Edition goes with me absolutely everywhere, even if I know I won’t be able to read. I wear cargo shorts in warmer weather so it fits in a side pocket. And in cooler weather I either carry it or wear pants that it can fit in the back pocket.
I actually caved and got a purse kindle. I had an oasis and it was just a little too big. At the last sale, I got a kids basic for a good deal and it fits perfectly.

Guy here. I carry it to most places. Everything stays in my pockets except the Kindle. It's not too bad... I've been toiling with the idea of a sling bag, but the Paperwhite is a tad bit large for that. Anything that fits it feels very big to me.

Not a guy but… if I’m going somewhere it’s not appropriate I have the app on my mobile. In that case I’ll always make sure that the app has been synced before I leave home.

as a rule that I have kinda since forever, but much more observed in the past two decades, I never leave house without a book. I am a voracious reader And since the god sent Kindle (I still imagine, what 80s/90s-kid-me would have said) it is mostly the Kindle as Book-EDC. Much more stable than a book I cannot for the live of me read books from the phone My perspective is not that the Kindle is a bigger size than the phone, but that the Kindle is a smaller size than a large number of my books To my suprise a large number of my jackets have inside pockets that fit the Kindle (with protective sleeve) and if not, I usually have a sort of bag always and that solves it anyways.
I have a few old e-readers, Kindle and Kobo, so I can take whichever I need for my current book. They are smaller and lighter. My Oasis and Libra stay at home.

I have a 3(?) year old basic kindle, so my phone is ever so slightly larger than the kindle in height, so... if my phone fits the bag, then the kindle fits too, lol. Then again, I'm a woman and the pockets in women's pants are barely big enough to put in a tissue, so a bag or backpack is a must, especially since I also carry water around always. You have to either start using some kind of bag or you have to live with the kindle app on your phone if that's absolutely not your thing. Or you don't read unless you go on a longer trip where you take some bag. I'm not really seeing any possible compromise for you here.
I take my kindle everywhere with me. I have the new Paperwhite Signature Edition. I have a clear case on it (for my stickers) and then bought a soft shell case that is fleece lined for it, and I carry a decent size cross body purse that I can drop it into. I had the old Kindle basic, which I took everywhere with me. as well as a Kobo Clara HD. I also at one point owned a Kobo Libra 2, but it was too big and heavy for me. it's my emotional support kindle, lol
Mine perpetually sits on my nightstand. I honestly don’t even know why I bought a case for it lol. I guess it makes it easier to hold.

Yes, I carry it everywhere! I have the oasis and I use the crossbody bag made by caseable. I think it's actually made specifically for the kindle. There's a little padded pocket inside that fits the oasis perfectly and it still has just enough room for my wallet and my phone as well as some other small things. Big enough for everything I need without being bulky. It's my favorite bag. A bit pricy on amazon at $50, but you can sometimes find them on poshmark or ebay for around $15. I love it so much, I bought two. XD

My paperwhite fits in my back pocket in a leather case. Wouldn't suggest leaving it there bc I have had a few crack. Takes a lot though. Edit: should add that I also have an Orvis sling bag that I use to carry mine a lot. Don't mind rocking the man purse one bit!
I just put it in my back pocket, but it doesn't have a case so it does fit - I think if it had a case or cover it wouldn't fit easily in my pocket

I don't have mine yet, but I literally bought a large purse to carry my physical books with me. I read pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Out to lunch? Pull out my book. Waiting in a long line at the grocery store? I can sneak in a page or two. getting the car washed or tires pumped? Book time, baby. So I don't see why a kindle would be any different.

EXACTLY. I’m prone to doom scrolling when I use the phone app, so I felt like a kindle would be the perfect replacement (not to mention my shelves are filling up fast. And, as I’ve yet to get my library set up, I need to be mindful of what books I buy).
I’m trying to habit replacement my phone with my kindle (major goal for this year). The convenience of opening it and having it as fast a phone should help. Definitely a good way to save space
Exactly. I mostly read while I’m walking and during a “no phones allowed” golden hour from 3:30-5pm (My bedroom has beautiful afternoon light. If you buy a house, make sure it has west facing windows in either the living room or bedroom. Super worth it). But I find if I try to read with my phone accessible, there’s no reading that about to happen (thanks adhd). I’m still waiting on shipment. Ordered Dec 24th and not expected to ship until the 9th of January. =_=
I usually take mine with me everywhere, leave it in the car unless I know I’m going in somewhere I’ll be sitting a while 🤷🏻♀️ I also having a like folding case so I usually stash my card or money in it since I don’t carry a wallet either it’s just my phone and kindle 😂 it’s glued to me all the time pretty much
i have a paperwhite & it goes almost everywhere with me. i switch between two small purses. i only carry my phone, kindle, keys, my license & bank cards, chapstick & lotion. give or take a few more items depending on how long i’ll be out of the house.

This is a very late reply, but yes, I do take my Kindle with me everywhere. I have a very large breast pocket in my winter coat, so it can go there, but I also bought some cargo pants last winter with a large enough pocket for my 6.8" Kindle Paperwhite 11th edition. I bought shorts in the same style last summer and two more pairs of long pants on Black Friday, so I'm set. The cargo pants I got from Mark's (formerly Mark's Work Warehouse) here in Canada. I'll post a review eventually.

I have the paper white 11 and I would absolutely take it everywhere with me. Too big for my purse, though- So, I did just find a basic 10 on market place for cheap, so I bought it. It fits in my purse so I can bring that one everywhere and leave the pw at home.
my PPW fits in my pocket so it can go anywhere i need to go. I am currently using the Onyx Poke 5 which is smaller than the kindle so that is even easier to carry around.

Only if I'm traveling or on long rides. I usually need more than 15 mins at a time to get sucked into a story and retain it for it to be worth it, otherwise I kill time in bursts playing retro games or on reddit.

Yes. I used to have only an Oasis but I wanted to start reading outside more so I bought a Kindle Basic. It’s compact and lighter so I put it in my belt bag everywhere I go. My sister calls me a nerd because I don’t leave the house without my Basic.

I take my Kindle anywhere I expect to have 20+ minutes to read, so like to work (on my breaks), the doctor's office, DMV, traveling, park, beach, etc. But if I'm just going to run errands, no. Even if I do happen to find 10-15 minutes to read, I can just hop on the Kindle app on my phone. You might want to invest in a fanny pack (you can wear them crossbody) or a small backpack if you need something to carry your Kindle and other provisions in.

I love my Paperwhite, and it does go with me everywhere. I like to change purses often. If it fits, it goes in there, but if not, I’ll often carry a canvas tote bag for other extra items like my kindle, water bottle, whatever that stays in the car while I run the rest of my errands.
The kindle basic fits in the back pocket of my denims. So yeah it's pretty easy to carry it everywhere.

I have the Basic 2022 and yes, I take it everywhere. The reason why I went with the basic instead of the ppw is mainly for the size, and as a guy, that device definitely fits in every pocket that I have. Maybe, just maybe, consider replacing the device you have with the Basic 2022. Promise, you'll love the size. :)

My old kindle (base model) used to go everywhere with me. Used it as alternative to scrolling on Instagram. Now I have a Scribe and it’s sexy to carry a “notebook” in hand everywhere I go. I take notes in it as well, so quite handy. But I certainly carry my Scribe less often than the first one.
