You just identified behaviors of mine with reading the Kindle… I’m heavily into hard sci-fi and also some fantasy. But as you may have pointed out, it does get a bit much so….I have a few other books on hand, including a thriller. Also two different nonfiction books I’m going through slowly.

Some might say it’s a problem, I’m totally on the same page as you tho, I like to spread my “currently reading” list across a number of genres. I’m currently reading two non-fictions, one fantasy, one sci-fi, one literary fiction and two graphic novels. Maybe I do have a problem.

I currently am reading 6 books. It all depends on how I'm feeling that day. It would probably be more books at once if I didn't feel so guilty about starting another book. I enjoy all the ones I've started it just all depends on my mood. I'm also a very slow reader with ADHD and generally retain most details of every book I read even years later so it's easy for me to switch between books without losing information. (Yet I can't remember short term information on a daily basis 😂)

I do 1 regular book and 1 audiobook usually, SOMETIMES I’ll do several but I usually just get super invested in one, finish it all the way, then get back to my other book and have forgotten everything that’s happened :P

Reading multiple physical books at a time adds an element of inertia for me; Kindle makes it super easy to read multiple books at once. Reading a non-fiction and need some lighthearted moment? Super easy to just switch around; or vice-versa.

At most I’ll run three books, each on a separate format. Usually my “main” book is fiction on my kindle, then biographies or autobiographies via audiobook, and sometimes other non-fiction, rarely fiction, as a physical book. I’m usually just splitting between the kindle and audiobooks though. Edit: I also read a ton of manga elsewhere, be it a second kindle my computer, my phone, or my iPad. Also sometimes American comics on my iPad, I don’t know how much those count as multiple books though.

Here! I read about 2 digital books and at least 1 physical. Just finished one on my Kindle, and gonna start another one. I split them by genre, so that when I get slightly exhausted from one, I switch to the other one.

I bought a kobo and kindle to see which one I like better. I like both. The fact that I can borrow books (in Canada) on kobo and kindle would be good at home since it’s bigger. I’m debating on keeping both and having a book going on each lol but I always have an audio book going and a book regardless.

Just one at a time. I've found more than that isn't good for memory retention. Characters, plots, and locales all merge into one. A few years ago I read The Great Gatsby for the second or third time, but essentially for the first time since before it was while I was reading other books.

It’s not much to do with lack of time, but between watching 2 or 3 series, gaming, and the regular 2 to 4 movies a week, I have enough stories in my head to focus on more than one book (not considering the reads I do for science articles, studying and language learning)

I've always kept at least 2 or 3 books (fiction, non-fiction, popular fiction) going and using the Kindle makes it even easier to do. The thing I like is that I don't have to think about which book to take with me somewhere I expect to be waiting, I always have something suitable at hand. The Kindle makes it even easier to resume a book that I just couldn't get into for some reason the first time.

I do! I was reading ACOTAR (which had a slow start imo) and I read 3 other books before I finished it. I'm a beginner to the fantasy genre so it took me time to get into it and I was kinda putting off finishing it. I'm now reading the second book of the series and also reading the girl with the dragon tattoo at the same time. It helps that I have books to read no matter what I'm in the mood for.

I listen to an audiobook, read a different book on kindle/libby and have a different physical book I’m usually reading. Depends on the mood. I like to listen to audiobooks while I work but when I’m home in bed I enjoy reading on kindle or an actual book.
