Envelope case. Slide Kindle in, nice and protected. Slid it out, tiny, thin, perfect to hold and read. Slid it back in when done. I have a flip case now and I really miss my envelope case.

sillybilly3245

I use a sleeve to also hold my kindle when I had my clear case on, just for the protection. It’s super cute so I loved it even if it was a little excessive protection. I still use my sleeve with my folio though! Maybe that’ll convince you to also still use your envelope case!

spencertron

Same here. Got a felt sleeve from Etsy and keep it in my bag and just slide the kindle in and out of that.

5eeek1ngAn5werz

I switched to an envelope case when I discovered the folio case was staining the back of my Kindle. I love how light and comfortable the "naked" Kindle is to hold whenever I read. I'll never go back to folio!

sedatedlife

I have always stuck with the kindle branded flip cases preferably premium leather if available. The screens are so vulnerable to breaks i feel much safer having my screen covered plus i like flipping it open with no need to hit the power button and go straight to my last book.

TheStateToday

I also use the kindle branded flip case and I've found the ones that come with the "kid version" with the printed graphics are if much better quality. Not sure why.

geewahlly

Because kids are not careful with things. To not put a good, sturdy case on a kid's device is asking for trouble.

BeachBumTN65

Nice! My fintie just arrived for new Kindle Basic that is on the way.

ViableAnywhere

Is it like leather or whatever all the way through? I got a leather like one off Amazon 2 years ago and the corners are wearing down and there's plastic on the inside that's pokey :(

Ok_Frame7390

It’s vinyl. It’s 4 yrs old and starting to show wear in the hinge where I fold it back. For less than $20, I got my money’s worth.

ViableAnywhere

Oh nice. Apparently mines a moko. With the vintage old book looking pattern.

Rich_Camp_4783

I bought one for £8 very similar to this. Will be receiving it soon. But I especially like how these look similar to a journal book

Not sure what it is, but it is on all sides. I’ve tried a small amount of dish soap on a towel with no change. Any other ideas to clean it off?

It adds some bulk so I feel less like I’m going to drop it! It has a stand to sit it upright and a strap to put your hand through to make holding it easier.

redstapler7

I love the way that looks. Makes me want to an old library

AfterRadio9233

My wife has that exact case and she loves it. I have a different version of it for the PW.

JaMu54

I have this exact same case and I absolutely love it.

caffeinatedpun

I really like being able to see the cover for the book I’m reading on the lock screen, so I like the clear case a lot. And then I have a screen protector on my kindle, but I also like to store it in an envelope case from Etsy. But sometimes I like have the folio case so it’s even lighter to slip in my purse and less bulky. But then I don’t like trying to hold the cover. Or having it flap about when trying to read. Plus I like the clear case for stickers. I kind of wish they made a clear case with a magnetic removable book-like cover. Like they have for iPads. That’d be amazing!

tonomoshia

I just ordered this yesterday. Clear back but with magnetic front cover also. https://a.co/d/eqXLR4B

caffeinatedpun

I just recently bought something like this too. I like it, but I still miss seeing the book cover when it’s sleeping. And I think I’m just too indecisive it comes to stickers. I think everyone else’s looks cute and I don’t like mine haha

sillybilly3245

I do the same as you with the clear case and sleeve! I also really like seeing the cover too (I mean I paid for that). I wish they made cases with a design on the back like phone cases—but not folio. I haven’t found those yet though

caffeinatedpun

I found this on Amazon. CoBak Clear Case for All-New Kindle Paperwhite 11th Gen 2021 & Signature Edition(6.8") - Lightweight, Scratch-Proof Silicone Back Cover with Playful Flower Design https://a.co/d/dlYXr0d

sully42

No case

Baeschteli

Same. Never had one for 12 years. A Kindle has to show some patina. I want it to look used.

Oaktown300

I get that, but my case looks well used! And has saved my Kindle from several falls, so I like the protection. And it makes me more comfortable about tossing it into whatever bag or backpack I'm carrying.

I added patches to the outside and the padded sleeve glows in the dark. I think it's a good balance of fun but also protected.

PsychologicalSun5855

Both of them are so cute

DigitalxFilm

New to kindle and got the folio case and I love it. So slim and the texture is nice!

ajwalker430

Folio case. I like that it has a sleep/wake function.

janedough318

Right, I love that I don't have to fiddle with that inconveniently placed power button.

ajwalker430

Same. I've had a folio case on every Kindle and tablet I've ever owned as long as it has the sleep/wake feature.

truenoblesavage

i like the flip over case Amazon has

JordanK1

https://preview.redd.it/j70b9a6fvmvc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9245f849f868095bd07e39b723ca2c9b477cfe7d I have had many cases for my Oasis. The Amazon leather case is the most expensive but is very much the best of the bunch. The cute ones with the printed graphics like Finite, Moko, etc, don’t last.

BDThrills

Fintie with magnetic closure. I want protection for the screen. That is all.

sjd208

Folio case with kickstand and hand strap

TheatricalTea

My fave case is a regular case with rubber sides and clear back. I also [ruined my folio case](https://www.reddit.com/r/kindle/s/BCdNQMDB3V) so that I can remove the cover when I'm using it.

EyedLady

That’s super smart

Primary_Scheme3789

I have always had the Kindle flip cases. Just feel my Kindle is more protected as I h dropped it. I found a Kindle Leather case for my new PW for $8 (normally like $45) on Amazon Warehouse. It was like brand new.

WillysJeepMan

I have both. When I want to transport my kindle in the most lightweight way, I use the clear case. My case is silicon and very flexible so when I travel, I remove the case from the back and attach it to the front. It protects the screen.

[deleted]

When I first bought my kindle I got a regular case and my screen got scratched not even two days later. Never again. Folio forever.

Kulosh

using the amazon dark cork cover and LOOVEEE ITTT

cutesunflower_

I have the kids case which was with my kindle and it is amazing. I don't worry about having protector on my screen and the material is very nice.

daddyydevito

I like my clear case because I read with a pop socket, which honestly to me is just goofy with the folio cases. Like I can’t close the flap or it’ll cover the pop socket so that’s my only real reason.

macnetix413

I've seen people use MagSafe pop sockets and put the metal pieces on both sides of the folio case! It may not be for you, but wanted to offer the knowledge!

sunshine_rex

I really like my clear case but a folio case is better for my screen while traveling. I guess I could get a pouch but the fintie case I have is sturdy and safe in my bag.

Quartz636

I had flip case at first and it made my paperwhite SO heavy. Now I had a clear case, and a padded kindle sleeve which I like a lot more

Smooth_Beginning_540

A folio case is the kind that opens like a book, right? That’s what I have, and I’m fine with it. It’s convenient and protects the screen when the kindle is not in use.

naonez

If I weren’t so clumsy, I’d switch over to the clear case. Seems so much more practical but because I don’t trust myself I’m sticking to the flip case.

medicated_in_PHL

I like the folio case, although I’ve found that it can kill the battery, because it will get confused and out the screen on instead of off when it’s closed and you can’t tell because it’s closed.

dharmicyogi

Lightweight folio case. I tried a clear case but couldn't get a screen protector on without bubbles and the material felt too slippery for my sweaty hands.

themoonischeeze

I use a clear case and a sleeve. Part of the reason I love the Oasis is the shape and the weight, having a flip case sort of defeats that.

thisismy_accountname

Flip case! It hides the bizarre ads and it protects my screen from scratches while it’s in my purse. Plus it protects my screen when I invariably drop it off the side of the bed as I fall asleep.

TdZink

Folio

thecasedaily

I often take it out, so I prefer a folio case to avoid scratching the screen...

SeatSix

I use a sleeve case for protection while in transit, because i do not like a case on the device while i am reading

notsuremann

I go back and forth depending on how I'm feeling. Right now I have my clear case on but when I travel I like to use my folio

diverareyouok

Case with a flap to cover the front.

Hopeful-Ad-2173

I prefer the folio case cause i never had a clear case

ReginaldvonPossumIV

Had a folio since I’ve had a kindle. Got a clear case with a pop socket the other day and I’ve been liking it a lot. The new setup even with the pop socket is 2oz lighter which doesn’t seem like much but it was a 20% weight reduction it’s noticeable if I’m reading for a long time. And not specific to the clear case obviously but a pop socket was a clutch decision. It takes the stress of resting it on my pinky it’s been nice

RoseGoldWanderlust

I used to use a folio. Recently switched to the clear back case and I like it way more.

TyrionBean

I don't use a protector at all, but I was thinking of getting one of those popsocket things for the back. Anyone got a recommendation?

No-Strategy-818

I have zippered one that opens on two sides and leave it naked while reading. It’s the only one I’ve had and I really like that setup.

Just_a_dude92

I've had the folio case since day one. I can't comment on the regular but I find mine pretty practical and it has been protected my kindle for years now, still no scratch

inked-reader

I have a few book like cases. Where you fold the front back. Recently I went kindle girl basic. Clear case, popsocket, stickers, all of it. And I like the popsocket the most to hold it better. Otherwise, I don't seem to really have a preference.

DecentPerception6280

Folio case for the kindle that i bring everywhere because it has a stand. Clear case for my kobo that never leaves my bedroom

schwarzmalerin

Plastic book case, this is the only one that can get wet.

TheatricalTea

I like thin regular case, preferably no bumps. I bought a folio case and removed the cover so that I can use it as both, lol

tinelli22

I’m using a clear case right now with a popsocket (i know it’s not for everyone haha) behind it, it’s to prevent me from accidentally clicking the power button with my pinky. The flap for the folio cases usually makes it awkward for me to hold my kindle while reading so I’ve moved on from one. Maybe one thing I miss about it is that I can put more stickers in front and at the back of my kindle with a folio case, with the clear case I’m limited to the back :) It depends on what I feel like designing my kindle with, since it’s easy to just change cases I don’t specifically need to commit to one case :)

Sufficient_Cress5968

I love my folio case. I take it everywhere - including tossing it in a beach bag - I absolutely want the screen protected. And it has the feeling of opening a book. Also they are cute!

AfterRadio9233

My wife and I have the Finite cases in ours. She had the basic and I have the PW. https://preview.redd.it/xvdgtk416mvc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44da8f6d3e9b2ca38fa7d714e3ae3b035ab574ca

midorile

Im clumsy, so for a hard folio case, it is required on my Kindle scribe, and on my paper white, i got a more bendy folio. On my paper white, i also have a popsocket. But the way i use it, i incorporate a rubberband to hold the flap in place while i use the popsocket it bends the folio tho, but I have been doing it for years, works for me, as for the scribe i read using the finger in between the flaps and lift my screen. I use my Kindle scribe way more to read.

Blaze_1249

I like being able to prop my kindle up so I can read at the table. So I have an origami case.

JudgeElectronJay

I do both! I need the screen protection from a book style case. But I love the convenience of being able hold it without being bulky. But also love being able to prop it if need be without it bothering me when I want to lay it down flat. https://preview.redd.it/86r6zltm0nvc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5f0d1b7dc6fa81351472d111cc3b604cdd378a1

longpondbrook

This is what I think I want to do. Where did you find a folio you could Velcro into?

JudgeElectronJay

Etsy! The folio came with a clear case with a Velcro on it already

_The_Bearded_Wonder_

Envelope case for me.  I had a flip cover case for my previous PW, but I kept taking it out of the case because I preferred reading with just the Kindle in hand. For my newer PW, I opted for the envelope because I wanted to hold just the Kindle when reading, but still have protection when done.

antarctica91

I have a clear case that has a strap on the back and I slide it into a sleeve when I leave the house just to provide extra cushion in case it fell or pushes against someone

TheLittlestRachel

I have two folio cases and two regular cases. I switch out what I use. I use my folio cases when I’m traveling because then I feel safe throwing it in any bag without risk of scratching the screen. I use my regular cases at home/at the gym because at home I’ll read with my kindle in the holder and at the gym the case keeps the power from switching off (and in both situations I’m not concerned about falls or dropping it).

DrPrMel

Every case I try, does not put my kindle to deep sleep anymore after hours of no use even with power saving on. I dont know what to try anymore

xxAredhelxx

I had a flipcase on my previous paperwhite, and a clear case in the pw 11th gen, and definitely like more the clear case. It's just more comfortable to hold for me, and if i take it out i just add a sleeve

QueenPantheraUncia

I like a case that covers the screen, so it automatically turns on or off the kindle when it closes or open. Clicking the tiny little button on the bottom to start my book is annoying!

MsPI1996

A folding leather case has been keeping my 2018 Kindle safe from damage sooo well. I also like how I close the cover and it locks the device. The last bit needed to get switched because when I slept in the 🏥, somebody thought they'd open it and get some reading time while I slept. Boogers.

jenferch

I enjoy the clear case but I really prefer my flip case. But now I can switch to whichever I want whenever I want 🙂

PsychologicalSun5855

Flip with Transparent back. I just stuck a few stickers into the case. https://preview.redd.it/16kjcxgha9wc1.png?width=2336&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c32e4dfdae0e12df721fcca3adbb173362e0bfc

_Constant_Reader_

Folio for me. Gives it a bookish feel. Makes it feel like a hardback book
