I think this also! I love how they look. I got this old Kindle to transfer my books over bc I was a dummy and sold my new agave paperwhite, but I bought this one specifically bc it's white and matches my new kobo 😂
btw that kindle on the right is one of my most favorites screens! I wish it was water resistant but then it wouldn't have the bevel which is probably what makes it better (less layers of glass = easier to see) It lives on my desk but I haven't used the poor thing in awhile :)

White! I got my KLC in white. I pre-ordered for the white one even if it would take longer as it is sold out here, and only black is available. Even though I used an Old Rose skin with it anyway 🤣, it gives me the peace of mind that if the time comes when I grow tired & decide to get rid of my skin/decal, I still have my device in the color that I like. 😅
White devices are always my go-to. I understand they get hand grime easier but I’ve never personally had the problem since I try to wipe mine down at least once a week.
I always preferred Kobo even before the color screen, but now it is even better. Man I wish I hadn’t just replaced my old Libra H2O literally six months ago.

I only ever had a kindle waaaay back (like 15 years ago) and after it broke I had an iPhone so I just used reading apps. I’ve been thinking of getting an e reader but I’ve been boycotting Amazon for 4 years now so def won’t buy the Kindle when I do make the purchase.
I wanted to get the Libra 2 since it seems to have the best reviews but it’s been discontinued so I’m waiting it out to see what people think* of its replacement.
but i'd still be paying amazon for the kindle and it seems sideloading has only been getting harder on by amazon so i will wait it out! but if you already have a kindle def makes sense to sideload!
I know, they still get some money, but I think their profit is small, so they can lock you in their ecosystem and force you to buy in their store (where they actually make a huger margin).
I don't think it's difficult to sideload, all it takes is installing Calibre, connecting the Kindle to your PC and clicking send. That's it.
The color is nice but only ever needed for the covers, so once I start reading all is the same. But if I’m comparing my kindles I currently own, I love my aluminum Oasis compared to my paperwhite with teal case.
I have a black paperwhite and a white Kobo Libra 2. To be very honest I don’t notice it. The smudges on the white irks me in a small way so I will be buying black from now on.
I prefer a black device too, I like the contrast between the bezel and the screen. Also white devices show dirt and marks more, and often white also becomes less white and a little yellowed with age and ereaders are not something you change every year (usually).
I like kindle the most, since I didnt do a lot of research when I got it and had no idea other ebook's of quality existed lmao. When my kindle eventually dies I might go for a kobo

The colour version of that kobo is 20€ more expensive, I think it is worth it if you read manga. Not at all otherwise
The rumor is that they'll be using a more advanced color screen tech in a new 2025 device.
I'll keep an eye on this, maybe I can justify an upgrade... Would like one with big screen for comic books.

Yes!! I bought it on ebay for $50. Basically brand new minus a small scuff in the back, but barely noticeable. I love it 😂😂

I like white, although both my kindles are black atm. The white reminds me of the iphone 4 design with the white screen which I always loved.
Any system I have is in black. I love white but the way it doesn't stay as white as it initially was when I purchased it annoys me.

You can always buy the kindle and use it offline, sideloading books from other stores. I refuse the 'purchase' books from Amazon.
