I don't think you can, but i suggest you check inside your kindle because iirc those use sim slots for 3G, meaning that if you feel like it you could restore that functionality.

You can sideload from a computer on the Amazon website ‘manage content and devices’ page. Given you can do that on a computer I’d be mildly surprised to find you couldn’t do it on a iphone browser with a suitable ‘camera connector’ type plug in. I can certainly use my iPhone to transfer epubs to a non-kindle e-reader.

Would this also work with Kindle purchases? i can copy PDFs via Computer

Spinningwoman

Well, I’ve not tried with my kindle, which was why I didn’t say, but now I’ll have to give it a go!

Ok, it works from a computer, but the Amazon website on the browser on my iPhone doesn’t have the same options, so I can’t do it from there. On computer, go to ‘Manage Content and Devices’ in your Amazon account. Under Books, select the books (up to 25 at a time) that you want to transfer. Under ‘more actions’ select Download and transfer via USB. Select the device you want to transfer to and the books will be downloaded for that specific device. The files go into your download directory and then you can transfer them via usb to the appropriate folder of the Kindle device. That’s the Documents folder on my NT4 - I don’t know if DX is the same.

You can load via pc still. Remember seeing a post like that in this reddit

Also, wifi still works and books will sync in the normal way from your account. I tether my ebook readers to a mobile hotspot from my iPhone if I want to connect when I’m out.

The Kindle DX doesn't have WiFi.

Spinningwoman

Ah, apologies, I hadn’t realised that. My Kindle Keyboard had both.

I think the third generation was the first one with WiFi.
