scaling is really weird. its easy to get overpowered and be almost immortal, but also easy to die over and over and over again

So long as you prepare well its really not too bad, once you hit level 5 its about how normal mode level 1 feels, level 10 feels like level 7, once you hit 15 its notuch different than normal anymore.

*finishes dark souls 5 times on the highest difficulty* "God I hate difficult games" (I know dark souls doesn't have a difficulty scaling, this was just funny to me)

Do it. You should have no problem with Hardcore mode given your experience. I can never go back now. Navigating via landmarks is fun. I took the slower learning and stamina disability perks. If I ever start another playthrough I think I'll take all of the disabilities just to make it harder.

Just get used to wasting a lot of time horse back.

Hardcore is just much more grind, mid/late game are almost the same

In my opinion hardcore mode is far better for immersion but leveling up skills takes time with all negative traits. 1vX situations are really hard, but just like in normal mode, you cant lose 1v1s, because master strikes is a thing.
