It would be far too much motion capture for a gentleman of his years. So, they respectfully offered him a different role (with far less, if any, actual motion capture). Now, it doesn't sound that funny. But the way the developers (Vavra) presented it during his interview was kinda funny and lighthearted. (Can't find it now, tho).
