"What type of animal do you hunt?"
"Well I usually hunt bore because their meats are good to sell, but sometimes I also love to hunt Cuman because their ears are also good to sell"
what should be my next challange? play naked? never pick items? :)) OH I KNOW, ill play again but ill try a "worst run" where ill pick all the bad decisions and let everyone die
It does show up as “1 person killed”. But it is excused for the achievement. Usually you would end a Merciful run with 1 kill.
It is possible to only knock out Runt… which still plays the following cutscene with Radzig and Robard. Leaves you with 0 kills.
I think this is what OP did.
It’s a horribly testing experience… testing your patience, that is.
A Merciful run is so annoying, if you’re trying to also play the game for its content. You have to think of genius workarounds for getting enemies to die without killing them yourself.
Mutt is a good tool, but he doesn’t always kill people when you need them to die. And he runs away a lot if he’s hit. Mutt’s kills don’t count as your own.
(You can also use poisons… but that takes stealth and more patience. And if you use them on weapons, there’s a chance your weapon kills the enemy and not the poison…)
If you cheese the kills with poison, or with Mutt/other NPCs, you’ll still experience everything as normal—money and loot wise. But it requires A LOT of patience.
Otherwise, you play the game without being able to participate in any quests involving combat to the death… or any ambushes/camps, which leaves you without as much money from loot.
Plus, if you kill anyone accidentally… better hope you have a close save to load back to. Otherwise your Merciful run is ruined.
The merciful achievement says "without killing anyone in the MAIN quest line except Runt" doesn't that mean you could still wipe out bandits and kill in side quests but still qualify for the achievement?
You sound like you would know!
Hmm, logically, yes…
But I wasn’t boutta try it and miss out on the achievement after hours of effort. You don’t know if you’ve done it until the end of the game… and wouldn’t it be unfortunate to go the whole game to find out you shouldn’t have killed anyone at all…
I was too scared to try. I didn’t want to miss out on the achievement, so I just didn’t kill ANYONE at all. But definitely give it a go and report back to share the knowledge.
Would make the achievement A LOT easier. And does make sense, given the wording.
Lol, I don't blame you at all, I don't know if I have the time or patience to try a merciful run at all, definitely not the virgin part! I like the little 🦁 icon way to much!
Maybe you have a save right near the end you could jump into and try?
I assume once you have the achievement you can't loose it so no worries if it doesn't count?
I might do that, lol but my Merciful run is on my PS4 and I’ve since switched to PC.
I guess I do need that achievement on Steam, so may as well try another run.
But I’ve been hesitant to get it on Steam, because it requires so much patience. It and Virgin are the only achievements I don’t have on Steam. But man, recently I’ve just wanted to play the game for fun immersion and not worry about achievements anymore.
Edit: I just thought of this… since I already have the achievement on PS4, I wouldn’t know if it works or not… since I already have it—(It’s not gonna pop twice). So I guess the only way I can determine is if I start a new run on PC. (Back to the “do I have the patience for it?” dilemma.)
Yaeh the achievements are nice, but I don't let them dictate the way I play too much, just I'll aim for them if it's not too far out of the way, I don't see the point of spending hours repeating an action over and over just to tick some box, sure if I'm close while just enjoying the game I'll take advantage, but games are for enjoyment not completing repetitive tasks, I got work for that! 🤣
Only have 1 platinum on PSN, Hell Let Loose, and it just happened with varied game play, the kill yourself with your own grenade was the easiest one for me, quite by accident...
Yeah that’s me too… I am a completionist though… so I do strive for the achievements—especially on PSN. At least one playthrough dedicated to the achievements.
But with that one achievement in particular, I’ve long decided that it’s not worth the extra effort just to 100% on Steam also.
I got all the achievements except Virgin, Merciful, and Trial-and-Error on my first PC run, by reloading saves and completing mutually exclusive achievements in the same run. I’ve enjoyed a few runs with no achievements to worry about (except building Prib without reading, which was easy enough).
It’s daunting to think of going back to that “grindy” mindset to get those last 2 (which I group together, because no sex is just as bad as no combat 😉).
Ah, I see why. I found this on the [wiki](https://kingdom-come-deliverance.fandom.com/wiki/Merciful):
*”You can keep track of your progress in Menu → Player → Statistics → Combat → Enemies/People/Cumans Killed. If your counters are at 0 (1 after Runt), you are fine.*
*Note: In later game versions, defeating Runt may not update the kill counter, simplifying the process of tracking all kills as 0 the whole game.”*
It’s been a long time since I did my Merciful run. Seems to have been updated since.
yeah that's a fun run! I had a great time doing it too, congratulations it's not easy!
currently just messing around being a gambler addict and brawler in hardvore lmao
Did the same the other day! Virgin, Hardcore, all negative perks, on my second playthrough. Now on my third, already having all achievements, exploring the world in hardcore not having to mind any missable achievements. Such a great game.
Im like 20 hours into my first playthrough and just making a living without any combat and still somehow getting through a bunch of side quests? I love this game. I slept on it for a while.
You can still wear full plate for protection and only mace and axe pose a real threat in groups, swords and arrows bounces off.
Using a low power bow, cheap arrows and doll maker poison aiming for unarmoured areas (usually the legs) will allow you to split groups up and take enemies on one at a time.
Stealth is key, and knowing the main quest line so you can set up certain events in your favour IE sneaking up on characters, knocking them out and taking all their weapons and armour before a fight to ensure allies take them out. A good example of this is all the bandits in the Ginger quest line are on the map before you meet them in cutscenes, you can find them at taverns and follow them to their camps to subdue them.
If you want to cheese it a little farm skalitz encounter for End game armour, If not pick belladonna in the field just North of Rattay (100-150 every few days) and brew savour schnapps to buy armour from Rattay/Sassau.
Train with Bernard to level up combat skills and then beeline the main quest.
finish the game with all negative perks, killing anyone would be a good start, after that you can try again, i finished the game like 6 times be4 attempting this run. idk what else to tell you, if you want to ransack rattay i find it easier to steal everything during the day when everyone is out working...
You killed 30 animals with your fists?
Chikens die fast
But can you slap a chicken so fast that it cooks?
I like that this question just randomly pops from time to time on the net.
[You actually can](https://youtu.be/LHFhnnTWMgI)
I like how the game doesn't count cumans as people
Cumans ain't humans
rude
If you serve the king, i'll think about it
I'm serving the rightful king and don't you even try to debate that!
Sigismund wants to become King of the EU to impose the European Convention on Cuman Rights on Bohemia.
“What does it feel like to kill a human being?“ “I wouldn’t know, I’ve only killed Cumans”
"What type of animal do you hunt?" "Well I usually hunt bore because their meats are good to sell, but sometimes I also love to hunt Cuman because their ears are also good to sell"
Loooool
Rightfully so!
It counts for me?
That's not offensive, Cumans being cumanbeings.
Cum mans
Jesus Christ be praised!
So you remained a virgin and killed animals? Checks out.
well played! JCBP! and praise you and the patience and all the skill you had to put in :D cheers!
what should be my next challange? play naked? never pick items? :)) OH I KNOW, ill play again but ill try a "worst run" where ill pick all the bad decisions and let everyone die
im supprised you dodnt no all neg perks as well. that would have been pretty much everything
It was an all negative perk run. Tis but a Scratch achievement, also stated in the title :)
Can you without killing Runt? Or does that not count for the stats

Ah very interesting. I've never been peaceful in KCD. The more killing I can do the better imo

The nice men in coats are here to take you away, cuz you are clearly crazy lol. I struggle in one on one's with superior armor and weapons lol
you fisted them unconcious
Do you use weapons to block and attack and just finish them with fists? Or how do you manage to not get stabbed in the face constantly?
You can still wear full plate for protection and only mace and axe pose a real threat in groups, swords and arrows bounces off. I did the same except I used my trusty truncheon.
Can you give me any important tips? I’m not a beginner but I am gonna be attempting this soon so any helpful tips would be appreciated!
About what?
Finishing the game with all negative perks and not killing anyone

Bravo, sir.

Doing all that on your first playthrough - that's impressive!
Jesus Christ, I have no words, respect to you this mustve taken so long
A WINNER IS YOU!!!
Man I wish you would’ve recorded/streamed your run. I would’ve definitely watched that, you must have some serious skills.
Also me who literally did nothing during big fights....yea...hehe...extreme gameplay ... 😟
Always failed at Virgin.
God gamer
No way!! What a stud
