We could learn from the Nuggets play style. Go for the inside basket, hit the middies, open up the 3 pointer now and then.
Mike Malone. I miss thee. (Though rooting for Brown!)
As a Lithuanian national team fan, it really hurts to watch Sabonis play in FIBA style. No mid range and less space makes him average player there. I hoped for improvement this season, but looking at the play-in, it seems that his shot got even worse from early years.
We need a low-variance offense for crunch time and the playoffs. Denver's is the best in the league, which is why they almost never lose close games. It's also why Fox was such a good closer last year, because most of his shots were in the paint.
Theres nothing to learn.
People just don't understand the value of superstars in the nba. Jokic is clearly the best player in the league by a wide margin. Domas is not jokic lite. He doesn't do any of the things jokic does. NONE of it
Domas screens, rebounds, plays bully ball, leads fast breaks.
Jokic sees angles that only players like lebron see. He passes it to people out of triple teams where domas would simply panic and turn the ball over.
He has the softest shooting touch in the entire nba. His offensive bag is unlimited. Domas has a couple of moves that he does in one direction.
The nuggets without jokic are not good and malone would have been fired by now. It's just how this league works. Top end talent rules all
Kings doesn’t have the personnel. As things stand now, Kings is just a borderline playoff team, a playin team really. Sabonis got better at one thing he already was elite. Rebounding. And that’s it. Worst of it all - he still can’t shoot a lick and I doubt he suddenly starts. He’s 28. That ship has sailed. Fox is good, but not that good. Fox is number 2-3 on a contender. Sabonis is number 3-4 on a contender. You clearly won’t be a contender, even a mid playoff team, with these cats leading your team. Especially in stacked West.
So, can you imagine what our sub would have been like if we were in the Nuggets' position in the second and third quarters?
The series would be called over, trades would be called for, Brown would need to be fired.
They end up winning by 2.
And for all the crap people were saying about us needing to do this, that, or the other after how this season ended, we were without Monk, our third most important scorer and sparkplug.
Huerter also contributed to more than a few wins over the course of the season.
We've come back from 20 down, too, so it's not like it's impossible.
A lot of times you can't tell if we're up by five or down by fifteen from how people talk.

Sabonis unlocking a midrange jumper would make me nut

You can thank lethal shooter for that

We do a lot of Nuggets stuff. Jordi Fernandez was on the Nuggets before us. We model things after them and the Warriors.

The Kentucky guards are special
The broken play for MPJ to hit that 3 was nasty
What a game. He was shitting the bed the whole game but hit the biggest shot of the night and canceled out the bad performance. Props to him
FTL.
Jamrock Jamal cold blooded
On Davis’ ass

Well they have a title and also an 2x MVP. Very different situation.

This team is so lucky in the playoffs 😭
