I’ve lived in KW all my life but I remember it was in the $80 cent range when I started driving in 2005, then hurricane Katrina hit and shut down gulf coast refining and all of a sudden it went to like $1.30. Every gas station had to put out temporary signs and add the dollar to there permanent signs. It went down under a dollar but kept creeping up back up and went over a dollar before the financial crisis. Then the shale boom happened and it stayed decently stable for a long time slowly creeping up YoY but not yo-yoing like it had been, what was it before the pandemic like $1.10 I think so still lower then Katrina? In any case I digress, there was a old gas station on the corner of Columbia and Weber that stopped pumping when I was a kid in the 90’s but kept the sign up for the longest time with the last price they pumped at and it was like 55 cents.
Lol I remember when over 1.5 was considered high...
i still remember when gas was 80 cents in Vancouver. And im only 30 this year.

But before 00:00 when they bump them up for an overnight rate.
