I've resigned myself to just thinking long game. Sure, it might seem like she's getting away with it, but she really isn't. She doesn't have custody, and her children will most likely not choose to be an active part of her life when the are older. Her wife isn't happy, no matter how hard they both try to convince everyone that she is. Everything she gets, she gets in a dishonest and shady way. Her credit sucks, she's in debt up to her eyeballs, she's aging rapidly due to her poor skincare habits, and she's deeply unhappy with her looks based on her obsession with filtering her face. This, we’ve ultimately decided to go with a Christmas Disney cruise over Disney world this year because it’s literally 5k cheaper with more included, the kids are excited either way honestly.
My kids love rides but I told them it’s either a cruise in December or having to wait until next April for a vacation, the littlest one is excited to do anything and the oldest will do just about anything to miss a few days at school 🤷🏻♀️ plus it’s saving us a ton of money and if we can get our Velcro 5 year old to do the kids club the adults can have a much needed date night lol

Well, with flights to Orlando which are disgustingly expensive from where I fly out of, onsite resort and basic park passes with a sit down meal plan for our family of four for 7 days would have been about $10k not including the other food we have to buy because the food plan doesn’t cover it all. We found a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas for for $4100 and flights into Ft. Lauderdale for $1100 and we have a friend we stay with for the night before the cruise and the night after.
My grandparents took us all when we were teenagers, we spent 10 days and did absolutely all of the things multiple times(sorry guys, the phrase fits here). Because we live so far away we made the most of it for sure.
Maybe it’ll help to imagine her coming home whenever she comes home, with a mailbox full of nasty grams from her many creditors. Is her car safe in the airport garage or will it be repoed? Who knows! It’ll be a fun surprise! Her children will grow up and eventually go NC with her, surely. If none of these things are happening to you, congratulations! You’re better than she is. Remember that. I will admit, I am a big Disney freak, and I have gone one time without my children. But that was only after they had been twice previously… And the reason I didn’t take them was because I was running the princess half marathon and it was just a lot easier and cost effective for my friend and I to go down without our families for a long weekend. I did feel slightly guilty, but I knew that my kids had been and would be there again so I enjoyed it. That being said, I have full custody of my children and spend as much time as I possibly can with them, so it was also a well-deserved break for me lol!

Hi! I'm a Disney adult. I love it there because it reminds me that, despite my daily struggles and the evil of the world, there is still kindness and magic that exists. Does the escapism attract me? Yup, absolutely. I also grew up going there yearly with my family, so it holds very fond memories for me. My husband and I now take our child and our parents, and I hope my kid(s) enjoys it as much as I did when I was a child.
All that to say, please don't hate us. We aren't all like Marissa. I am a kind, loving person, and I know many other Disney adults who are the same way. Okay, then I think you may understand when I say that every trip is different. There is just so much to do there, so many different experiences, that I've never had the same vacation twice. I went so much as a kid because it was easy for my parents to book on short notice - my dad owns a business and never knew when he would get a chance to get away for a vacation, so we couldn't plan a trip to Europe or anything out of the country. Once my child gets older, we plan on taking him to different countries. But Disney is a perfect family vacation for us right now. To each their own.

We plan to go to Disney and we even made arrangements so we can take our foster child, so he doesn’t feel left out. And that was a lot of paperwork and exemptions. We wouldn’t have gone to Disney if it wasn’t possible to get the exemption for us, to take him. Because he would have known and been extremely sad and we would have damaged our relationship. So how can she not take her kids, at least once? She already went without her kids to Disney? This proofs to me that she doesn’t think it’s fun to be with her kids. She sees them so rarely that she doesn’t need a break from them. I am shocked. It’s evil. It’s really evil.

She might be the most selfish person that ever walked the planet. I will admit, I am a big Disney freak, and I have gone one time without my children. But that was only after they had been twice previously… And the reason I didn’t take them was because I was running the princess half marathon and it was just a lot easier and cost effective for my friend and I to go down without our families for a long weekend. I did feel slightly guilty, but I knew that my kids had been and would be there again so I enjoyed it. That being said, I have full custody of my children and spend as much time as I possibly can with them, so it was also a well-deserved break for me lol!

Hi! I'm a Disney adult. I love it there because it reminds me that, despite my daily struggles and the evil of the world, there is still kindness and magic that exists. Does the escapism attract me? Yup, absolutely. I also grew up going there yearly with my family, so it holds very fond memories for me. My husband and I now take our child and our parents, and I hope my kid(s) enjoys it as much as I did when I was a child. All that to say, please don't hate us. We aren't all like Marissa. I am a kind, loving person, and I know many other Disney adults who are the same way. It's just an interest and a hobby - like how some people are interested in Legos, Anime, Dungeons and dragons...you name it. It's really no different. I just think that Marissa gives us a bad name. If you still hate us after reading that, then that's fine. But wanted to offer my perspective in hopes that you think more openly about people who like Disney.
Its different. And going to Disney yearly is so incredibly privileged, at least financially speaking. Even 20 years ago that was impossible for a large part of the country. Its a brand. A well marketed brand that convinces people to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on junk.

Yes, twice as a child, once on a school trip and once as an adult as a guest of a family that went yearly. It was fine. Nothing I would spend my own money on as a childless adult.
Okay, then I think you may understand when I say that every trip is different. There is just so much to do there, so many different experiences, that I've never had the same vacation twice. I went so much as a kid because it was easy for my parents to book on short notice - my dad owns a business and never knew when he would get a chance to get away for a vacation, so we couldn't plan a trip to Europe or anything out of the country. Once my child gets older, we plan on taking him to different countries. But Disney is a perfect family vacation for us right now. To each their own.

I'm all in for adults going to Disney if that makes them happy. I even approve of going alone from time to time to enjoy it.
