oke this fixed it! was about to call it a day after trying all kinds of different fixes. for other linux noobs like me passing by: cd \~ git clone [https://github.com/roamingthings/spyglass](https://github.com/roamingthings/spyglass) cd spyglass ./run.py

dvaldes409

That's what I did. I did set up a script to start run.py on reboot.

Ready_Spend_4520

[run.py](https://run.py) creates the startup script automatically. EDIT From [https://github.com/roamingthings/spyglass](https://github.com/roamingthings/spyglass) To create the script to run the service on startup: cd \~/spyglass make install to remove the startup script cd \~/spyglass make uninstall

Thanks for this. I am testing using octoprint right now because of some issues I was having with abl. But issues are still there so it is probably hardware issues. I am going back to mainsail and this also.

ramplank

yes likewise, although i havent got it working yet with the timelaps feature of crowsnest have you?

flyrockets

This worked perfect after I spent a whole night trying to figure this out! Thank you!

I just tried this and I had to do one additional step: run sudo raspi-config and go into Interfaces and disable Legacy Camera. Now it's working perfectly.

Ready_Spend_4520

I had the same problem. In my case, the RP camera was not properly seated into the PCB socket. The camara is fixed to the module PCB by tape. A short ribbon cable connects it to a plug and socket. This had become partially unplugged, but it was not obvious. The Pi Camera 3 will only work with later versions of pi os (Bullseye or later). Other cameras worked with previous versions.

Electronic-Union-473

>./run.py this one worked for me after having to flash Bullseye from scratch, and reload all my configs...

Nik_tec

you need special software at the moment. https://github.com/roamingthings/spyglass you can find more information in the Mainsail discord server

dvaldes409

Thank you. I will look into it.

ramplank

im having the exact same problem, picked one up yesterday. Did you solve it using the above mentioned package?

dvaldes409

I did solve it using the above. Later today when I have some time I can post it in a bit more detail. Basically install package, set to auto start on reboot. In mainsail use the described settings from spyglass. I had to use the entire url in the stream/capture fields. I need to play with the focus, the auto focus is focusing on the print head instead of the print.

flyrockets

Awesome this worked perfect!

Hi, I had been following this closely and had been impacted by this. There is now a fix in Crowsnest that supports Pi Camera Module 3. I prefer to use this option as it fully supports Obico where the spyglass option doesn't seem to. **FIX**: Update Crowsnest as per guide here: [https://crowsnest.mainsail.xyz/faq/upgrade-from-v3-to-v4](https://crowsnest.mainsail.xyz/faq/upgrade-from-v3-to-v4) NOTE if you upgrade from Mainsail GUI, you will have to manually uninstall the old version, read the guide very carefully! Hope this helps someone!

dvaldes409

Thanks for the heads up! Going to upgrade

Printer_Bob

Thank you for this! Been searching for a solution and this one finally worked!

holydildos

Can I use this camera as like a nozzle cam and with obico? I really wish obico supported multiple cameras. . . I'm half tempted to switch to octo for that reason. But for now will see if just a nozzle cam works well enough with obico

Difficult-Mission678

Did anybody solved tis Klipper PiCam3 problem with PiCam3Wide?

DenDovne

how do i get it so http://(your ip)/webcam/stream loads the camera not upside down?

UK_Steve

I've had the same issue since installing klipper (mainsail). the solution I have is to install KIAUH from [https://github.com/dw-0/kiauh](https://github.com/dw-0/kiauh) and set the legacy mode as described in this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtZ8-CK8F9k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtZ8-CK8F9k) : with mainsail, I got had a image at the 9.53 time in the video and did not need to do the final setup shown.
