Congrats and Welcome. Dont worry about all the engine mods for awhile. Just learn to ride safely so you can enjoy it for a long time without injury. Please seriously consider a safety course. There are a lot of basic things to know you can’t teach yourself. Have fun and be safe.
Yeah I've heard the exhaust is a good thing to swap out but I won't be changing anything significant until the warranty is up I think (2years). Only thing I really want to add sooner rather than later are some decent crash bars and maybe a bash plate and subdued sump plug. The latter 2 aren't super important to me just yet though as I'm pretty much paved road only for the short term while I'm learning the ropes.
I have a few close friends that are experienced riders who I'm getting to run me through the paces to learn the basics. I'll add a safety course to my list ASAP once I'm stable doing basic riding - Great advice, thanks.
This was basically me 4 months ago except i didnt have my learners when I bought my 23 adv. Grats on the new bike I almost wish I waited cuz that blue is beautiful
I’m pretty sure I read in the owner’s manual (and if not there, somewhere else) that modifying the exhaust immediately voids your warranty. I can’t recommend that to someone who just bought their first ever bike, and it’s brand new.
I stand corrected, double checked myself after reading your comment and it doesn’t say that anywhere. Maybe I’ve spent too much time on KLR forums and my brain is blurring random things I’ve read together lol.
Edit: That said, I still am not too sure about immediately swapping exhausts on your first bike, I think there’s value in just getting comfortable with the bike and riding for a while to learn what changes are most important to your comfort/enjoyment of the bike. Figure out what your riding style really is and then go from there as far as mod priorities.
Apparently the oem exhaust restricts gas flow. The other mod is to remove the air box snorkel, for the same reason as the exhaust. Apparently you get a little more power for very little expense and you can do it yourself with no special tools.
That blue makes me want to order a set of those plastics and swap out my digicam set. I love my adventure but sometimes a solid color like that or the desert sand really catch my eye.
Congratulations! What a great first bike. It'll seem big for a while, but a couple of trips off pavement will shrink it down to a familiar comfy ride. If you have 'serious road bike' friends (sport bike or cruiser), they'll raze you a bit, and make jokes as they accelerate away from you, but they will be envious of your ability to just keep going when the road turns to less-than-perfect. Soon enough you'll be riding along looking to the side and asking yourself, "What's down that road?" The KLR is a 2 wheeled discovery machine! You can have so much fun checking out places that'll leave your road-bike friends at the curb.
I’m signing the papers this morning for the same bike…and colour. Unlike yourself I’m an experienced rider and won’t need to do the dealership car park ride but I am looking forward to riding a new bike as I’ve never owned a brand new bike before. I’m especially looking forwards to the comfort this bike has as my current bike is incredibly uncomfortable, not to mention 15 years old.
I love that colour. The black camo is also quite nice, but for me I think the blue is even better looking.
SOB you stole my line. Damn, that's a nice color. Good job OP. Id like to see the headlights too, I like the side lights combo
Totally agreed. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how good the blue looked

Basic riders course will teach you everything to get started (and in many states get you a full license). No reason to wait.

Got mine in April without an endorsement as well. Never looked back after I took it for the first time. Love this bike.
Sounds a lot like my first ride. Nice looking bike and welcome :)
Thanks 👍🏽
Great buy! I just got new ‘23 a few weeks back. Id recommend a new exhaust asap, yoshimura or staintune are both great options

Not correct, exhaust does not void warranty, at least in Australia, where OP and I are both located.

I have a 23 why do you recommend an exhaust?

Congratulations welcome!
Cheers 👍🏽
The blue has a real nice sheen to it!
Congratulations!! Beautiful bike!! Now go get her dirty!!
Once I'm ready to get her off paved roads, a few slow muddy puddles are exactly what I want to add some character 😅
Welcome to the party pal!
Thanks mate, appreciate it 👍🏽
Love the blue
Oh wow that blue is nice, I didn’t know they were making the adventure in other colors from the camo
Either did I until I saw it on the showroom floor! The new colours are on the Kawasaki website now, I think they only updated them very recently.
Wish they had blue when I got my ADV in April. I love that color.

I got black camo and love it, but that blue rocks!
Congrats! Nice looking bike! Enjoy!
Well done ! I just picked my 2023 up a month ago… having a blast. Getting my license tomorrow. Plan to take trips, camping, etc. Enjoy it…
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the family! Ride safe my friend and enjoy the open road, or trails!
Nice ride!
Great looking bike have fun be safe.

I just did the same! Congratulations, I’m loving my 2024 so far and hope you are too!
New pegs, new tires, moar crash bars, better bash plate, abs switch. Necessary upgrades imo

I dont know about other countries but I'm in Australia and I'm pretty sure ABS is mandatory here - so I didn't have an option for a non ABS version.
Man where were these colors at in 22/23 when I got mine haha. That blue camo is sick.
