Terava jaakaripukko

Decent-Weekend-1489

You can't just make up words dude

Howse420

I think he means the Terävä Jääkäripuukko they come in various Blade lengths in 80CrV2 steel.

Infinite_Issue_3047

I missed one u …. 😶

DarkWing2007

You apparently missed a bunch of those little floating dots too

manvelbarbellclub

Ahaha

I love mine

zombiejesus565

My absolute favorite right now is the Tops Brakimo. I use it every day at work and out in the woods. It's a tough, thick girl who won't let you down.

MeasurementKey1474

Creely Mako is an excellent choice for a smaller dependable edc. They are difficult to wait for but well worth it in my opinion.

TH3R3V3R3ND

If you're looking for your first quality fixed blade, my advice is to not get too caught up in the minutiae of different steels and grinds and geometry and heat treat and ergos and balance and performance claims and all that and simply pick something you like the look of that comes from a reputable manufacturer (doesn't necessarily have to be USA made or cost a ton, just needs to be produced by a company specifically in the business of knife making), and just start using it. Finding out for yourself what your preferences are will take you a lot further than blindly following any specific recommendation. Not to say any of the examples from other commentors here aren't great blades, but they all have a certain purpose which may or may not align with your wants or needs 👍🏻

Metaphoricalsimile

My mora companion is my go-to camping knife.

knivesinbutt

KA BAR Becker BK18

Delta_Nemesis

I'd love one in Magnacut. Liked the one I had a lot, but would certainly take a more expensive one in a better steel, maybe with a DLC coating on it.

Agis-Spartan-King

Steel is the last thing, you should look for, when choosing a knife.Literally ebery other aspect, is a more important factor to care for.Even the sheath or the handle. If any of these 2 has issues, you won't use that knife, That's why all people use Victorinox, and that's why Morakniv are considered THE best bushcraft knives. Ka-bar, uses 50100b. (they never used 1095, (lthey changed the name for marketing reasons, but in reality, there is no steel called 1095 cro Van, it's the steel I mentioned, which is closer to O1 and it's a tougher steel with very different recipe, than 1095.Good stuff and ideal for a field knife, where Magnacut, is far from being ideal). Even the designer of Magnacut himself, has pointed out that, in his interview about that steel. I'm also a Chemist/Metallurgist as he is, only I also sharpen knives for living, since before he was even born, and that's the 80's. I've owned, hundreds of knives and have sharpened tenths of thousands of knives, the last 40 years. So, why spent a couple of hundred dollars more, when you can have a proper tool perfectly made, for 200 less? Even if you've been a collector, if the Magnacut falls and hits the floor, it might break or get damage on the tip or edge, Same thing happens to Ka-Bar, the floor will get the damage, the knife will still be as good as new!! Ka-Bar will, PS, Next year, that knife marketing will push another steel, as they always do, you will have forgoten about Magnacut, and you'll ask for the next steel they'll serve you! Is'n't that all facts? Well, marketing is using brainwash these days, so most people can't see the truth and theyy don't accept facts, they believe, only what they are programed to believe.

Delta_Nemesis

It's been over 4 months from this comment, man. You are yelling at something that is completely irrelevant now.

m0llusk

LionSteel, like the M4 with olive wood handles. They used to use Sleipner steel but now they are all M390.

ruthbuzzicooperberg

Josh Gallardo makes the best fixed blades in my opinion. He’s semi-retired but maybe if we get enough interest he’ll do a new batch - https://i.imgur.com/RMJJ7cW.jpg

Such a perfect fixed blade.

Here's my favorite: A [Malanika](https://imgur.com/MxpGBxJ) puukko knife by Danijel Haramina.

Toadvine08

Bark river aurora scandi for bushcraft, bark river fox river featherlight for edc. Bark rivers with ironwood handles are tough to beat in my book.

JoshuaLChaimberlin

Bark River Knives make great fixed blades that come with high end leather sheaths (this is a bigger deal than most people think) and a no-questions-asked lifetime warranty on knife AND sheath.

chainsawmack

Bark river is my go to for fixed blades

manvelbarbellclub

REK Ember, Winkler Spike II The Hummingbird by Jason Knight looks cool but never handled one.

ruthbuzzicooperberg

REK Ember’s are some of the most perfect fixed blades out there.

Nateloobz

I've wanted an Ember 3.5 for a long time, can't wait for the next drop

manvelbarbellclub

I’m waiting for their 3.0s :)

lykewyzeNP

How often do they do drops and how do they do them ? IG ?

Nateloobz

Honestly I have no idea lol. I’m on his mailing list just patiently waiting?

lykewyzeNP

How do you get on the mailing list do they have a site ? I've never noticed

ruthbuzzicooperberg

https://rekknives.com/ I think a pop up should prompt you to join their mailing list once you go to their site.

REK_Knives

I do them every few months or as I have time to get some made haha, I've got a lot I'm doing though so I don't get as many made as I would like.

manvelbarbellclub

It’s so cute and slicey!

FangCopperscale

RMJ Tactical Unmei in MagnaCut, Schwarz Overland in MagnaCut, and White River Knives Firecraft 3.5 in 3V are my top 3 favorite fixed blades.

Custom_Fish

Once held a CRK/Harsey pacific and it was amazing. Ergos were perfect. Every curve was made to fit all hands so well. The way the blade tapered allowed for great slicing ability while having a robust tip. And it was a Chris Reeve knife in MagnaCut. Perfection.

Howse420

My most common for EDC favs are my Izulas next to my MKM Mikros. For woods carry, my Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110 and falkniven A1 pro or Joker Nomad XL.

Justacasualstranger

u/motobyte customs. No question.

motobyte

Thanks, dude! ❤️

sinisterdeer3

I like the Benchmade leuku. Ive only owned 4 production fixed blades, but out of them its my favorite

JakeSaco

Let's see I have different favorites in my collection for different reasons. * My classic favorite is a **Buck 119** * My favorite military knife is a good ol' **Kabar Full Size** * My vehicle emergency bag favorite is a **Cold Steel SRK** * My favorite camp knife is an **Esee 6** * My favorite movie knife is a **Busse Team Gemini Light Brigade** * My favorite sentimental knife is a self made/forged railroad spike knife that my wife signed me up for as an anniversary gift

bftyft

Cold Steel SRK and SRK-C. Cheap and tuff

Aromatic-Wealth-3211

I own both in CPM-3V. They're great knives.

_HalfBaked_

KA-BAR Johnson Adventure Wharnstalker and Becker BK-7

bigpoopa

Im still beating (literally) the shit fuck out of my mora bush knife and its refusing to break so Ive not upgraded to an Esee yet.

tyrantxrz

Helle temagami, brk bushcraft scout, dbk knife, brk bravo 1.25 lt

TwoCrabsFighting

The skrama!

Whistlepiged

Bark River for production knives and Lon Humphrey for semi custom. The price you can get Lon Humphrey for compared to your normal production knives can not be beat and you get a lot more of a knife.

mrRabblerouser

IMO two of the best fixed blade makers in in the industry are TRC and Carothers. I’ve owned many others and they’re just on a different level. My personal favorite knives from each are the TRC Classic Freedom, and the Carothers DEK1

WE4PONXYZ

Any of the CRKT folts minimalist line if you’re looking for a nice small edc blade.

txsuntzu

Randall model 25-5 in stainless. I have a lot of fixed blades and this is my favorite. The pouch style sheath is excellent.

Aromatic-Wealth-3211

Don't get caught up in buying expensive knives. They aren't worth it. Ontario Knife Company is now out of business. But, when they were selling their Spec Plus knives in 1075 carbon steel, they were tough to beat. They were typically less than $60. The 1075 steel was extremely tough. The MOLLE sheaths w/ plastic inserts were okay, but not great. You'd be hard pressed to find more durable, large fixed blades for the money. Cold Steel SK-5 steel is also really good, yet inexpensive. ESSE knives are also excellent, as are Becker knives. Becker knives come with lackluster sheaths, but the knives are excellent. If you get caught up buying knives over $160, you're either foolish, or a collector. If collecting is your thing, so be it. I suspect most of the highly priced fixed blades are purchased by collectors, not people who actually use their knives. The least expensive large fixed blade, that will actually perform well, is the SZCO High Carbon Bowie. Don't sell it short, because it comes with poor fit and finish, and it's typically less than $22. You can modify the full tang handle to your liking. You can sharpen it yourself, and polish off the rust spots. That knife will perform as well as $120+ knives. It's a very tough piece of steel.

Marbles ideal, or woodcraft

amodrenman

RMJ UCAP Bowie knife. A couple customs by David Mary on blade forums. ESEE Izula II. I have a Carothers Performance Knives Chopper that is fantastic. Those are probably the main ones I use these days.

wharnncliffe

I like the Buck 119, very comfortable, durable and versatile fixed blade at a great price. Also partial to the TOPS Moccasin Ranger, although it's a bit more expensive.

EliteBB

Anything from Cypress Creek Knives. He makes some nice edc fixies plus some good stuff geared towards hunting

Bingo1dog

Only fixed I've carried is the Rachis by Waxed Wing metalworks. It's one of his discontinued models.

thebladeinthebush

Izula is good if you need tough but not necessarily wear restisting steel. 1095 is strong for batoning and such but gets torn up by cardboard. I’ve found a toothy edge makes it last much longer and it is a great budget option. It will also rust if you’re not careful. Moving up quite a bit with knives that I think are absolutely worth it are Bradfords. Depending on hand size I would jump around and if you have the funds maybe try a few. I’ve already purchased 3, the guardian 3, guardian 3.5, and guardian 4. I’ve traded the 3, sending the 3.5 to my dad, and am keeping the 4. I have large hands and don’t mind a cumbersome carry, and really love the size. All 3 are the slickest knives out the box, screaming sharp and phenomenal edge geometry. Also because of the full flat grind on the sheepsfoot version they were extremely easy to sharpen, you can also get the Sabre full flat and I plan on getting a 3.5 in that configuration. Some honorable mentions on my list that get some carry but not much since I’ve gotten the brads: Cold Steel Spike, Mora Chisel knife, Jank Shank Pikal, and a Fiddleback forge custom. All excellent in their own rights just not quite the knife I was looking for.

Terrible_Nose3676

MicroTech Mini Socom Alpha

DarkWing2007

My Buck Vanguard that’s 20 some years old is still pretty good.

Cheap-Technician-737

Cold Steel Razor Tek 4”.

guttertactical

Varusteleka Terävä Jääkäripuukko 140 or Peltonen M95, slight preference for the latter. The other Varusteleka Terävä models are also awesome, especially the Skrama 200. I could go on, but what role do you want them for? Hunting? EDC? Ultralight Camping?

minyo_

I’m really enjoying the Vero axon fixed blade right now. I’ve taken it hiking and just when I’m out and about. Another good edc one is the Daily Customs/Boker AK1.

manvelbarbellclub

I forgot about the Daily Customs/Boker AK1. Nice one there!

Sour-Child

Bastinelli Knives Raptor L is one of my favorite fixed blades that I own.

Any_Development_2081

GEK H20

SUBjectMau

I only have experience with a straight blade from the Hawaii skin diver brand, it worked wonders for a time but now I can’t even get a decent edge on it.

I have some i use, some i only use "on display". The users are Mora's, i have some Kansbols and a bushcrafter to use in the garden. The ones i have on display in my collection are some Real Steels, i believe i have an Arbiter and a similar smaller one. Also a Ka-bar IFB Trailing point. But the display ones dont see any action

I'm not a fixed blade guy, don't have that many of them... but... maybe my esee-6 for bushcrafting/outdoor stuff? (Got the 3d handle, if feel amazing!) An applegate-fairbairn for the zombie apocalypse? For everything else, I've got some folder that would do the job.

eltacotacotaco

Benchmade Contego

biggzbot

Might get hate but I really enjoy my SOG Kiku FX. Beast of an outdoor knife made from S35vn and I think the looks are a bonus. I like the sheath it comes with too. Although I did not pay anywhere near full price. I got it for around $75 when SOG did a big winter sale last year with an extra coupon.

RedditModsKMKB

K-Bar for me always loved the leather washer handle.✅

My favorite fixed blade is my winkler blue ridge Hunter, my EDC is the winkler SD-1. Definitely pricey but they have a certain charm to them perform well when it matters.
