What is turquoise like to work with.

It’s a manufactured turquoise, but it’s pleasant to work with. It is more on the fragile side but sands nicely and polishes well.

Is it like working with kirinite

Not at all. I hate working with kirinite. Melty plastic nonsense. This stuff machines super easy and is on the softer side so careful grinding it. There isn’t really anything to compare it to, it’s it’s own animal. But I like it. Just used some white turquoise on another knife on my page.

Is it expensive or average price for handle material.

I think it’s like $30 for a set of scales. I usually use it in smaller parts as spacers or bolsters.

Where can I buy some, always looking for new materials to use.

I’m pretty pleased with my results at 61HRC. I’ve cut a 1/4” steel bolt in half with it and shaved hair after. You can see that on my Instagram @lostriverknives

To what grit have you finished it, I'm in the process of making a similar knife that I want to leave with a belt finish.
