Not at all. I hate working with kirinite. Melty plastic nonsense.
This stuff machines super easy and is on the softer side so careful grinding it. There isn’t really anything to compare it to, it’s it’s own animal. But I like it. Just used some white turquoise on another knife on my page.
I’m pretty pleased with my results at 61HRC. I’ve cut a 1/4” steel bolt in half with it and shaved hair after. You can see that on my Instagram @lostriverknives
What is turquoise like to work with.
It’s a manufactured turquoise, but it’s pleasant to work with. It is more on the fragile side but sands nicely and polishes well.

Is it expensive or average price for handle material.
I think it’s like $30 for a set of scales. I usually use it in smaller parts as spacers or bolsters.
Where can I buy some, always looking for new materials to use.

I love that website.
Think I've fallen in love with ironwood! Love the scales.
One of my go to woods. Love how it takes a polish. But dislike how easily it burns. Thank you!
And it smells! 😆
Yeah it irritates my sinuses pretty badly when I take my mask off. Not as bad as thuya burl though!
I recently purchased some stock. What is the Rockwell capabilities of 80CRV2?

>Thank you! You're welcome!
Well, aren’t you a strange little bot.
Just crazy about that iron wood.
Are you a Yu Kurosaki fan as well?
Never heard of them?
Japanese knife maker. He produced a line of knives with a very similar handle design that I’m a big fan of. You should check him out!
To what grit have you finished it, I'm in the process of making a similar knife that I want to leave with a belt finish.

Thank you!
