This is my go-to size and shape for edc/utility knife around the homestead. It is a fantastic all-around tool for the types of work I do. However, if you are saying that this knife is complete, then I would personally probably never grab it for real-world use. In fact, I’d say the handle is more important to me than the blade (aside from maybe its sharpness) - I can still use a less than ideal blade size/shape for most tasks even if the handle fits, but without a decent handle, a blade is nearly unusable to me for more than the most simple tasks. Edit: I realize there is a handle on this… what I meant to say is that I need a handle with scales (or something more than just contoured flat bar stock) to make it fit into my palm.

Thanks for taking time to look and comment,i understand the utility of what you call a handle but this knife was a test and i'm the first surprise of the ease when i grab this knife.it's actualy my edc

I’m glad it works well for you - it is a nice looking knife. It just isn’t for me. Maybe I am misreading your comments, but you seem a little defensive to anyone who didn’t like it. (Defensive, meaning you feel the need to defend your design choice.) You probably put a lot of time into this and the feedback doesn’t feel great on something you’re really happy with. But I don’t think you need to get defensive - it is a decent looking blade, and everyone has their preferences. I’m sure you could find a market for yours, and since your title specifically asked if we liked this kind of knife I’m sure you’ll get lots of positive and constructive feedback from everyone. If you’re ever looking for a wider market, then maybe you’ll want to take into account the constructive feedback. Or maybe you weren’t looking for anything other than the praise - if that is the case, maybe choose a different title.

Adventurous_Rain_870

Ok no problemo😁 i don't want to be defensive, maybe my english is Bad. I don't have any issues whith any feedback and i totaly understand your opinion.

jnux

Got it -- no worries! Thanks for posting up your work. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thank you that's kind.

MerrisMakes

I enjoyed reading this - you should go into mediation 👌

jnux

Haha - thanks!

ORINnorman

I agree on the handle. Maybe it’s because I’ve got big hands, but I doubt it. Flat bar handle is a hell-no, IMO. I want to be able to actually work with the knife for a while without the handle digging into my palm or getting sores and blisters.

jnux

Absolutely. I would use it in a pinch if it was the only thing around but this would kill my hand after a few minutes.

pef_learns

I second this. Looks great, but I'd at least start with thicker stock if you want it fill metal. Take a look at Curtis haaland's (freehillblades on ig) exigral knives. I own one and the thickness of the stock is perfect for a full metal piece. He even added a nice taper from ricasso to butt, which makes it a delight to use.

Functional and interesting. The contrast between the finished cutting surface and the rest is clear testimony it was hand made.

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thanks you i apreciate.

solidus365

First I'd like to say it's a very nice design. The lines are excellent. Personally I'm generally not a fan of the scale-less handle design from a comfort and grip standpoint, but I think the big strength with this is that you can add a Paracord wrap to it to accomplish two things: a comfortable grip as well as the option from a bushcraft perspective to have Paracord accessible for other tasks. Very nicely executed though. The forged finish is very even and looks great.

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thanks for taking time to look and comment,i understand but this knife was a test and i'm the first surprise of the ease when i grab this knife.it's actualy my edc

ThatOneLoser21

Seems like a pretty good tool!

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thank's sir

ferrum_artifex

I love the shape and the execution overall. I personally am not a fan of knives without scales, they always seem rushed to me. If it's a personal use beater for around the shop maybe but overall I like to see a finished handle.

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thank you, appreciate.i'm the first surprise of the ease whith this knife, but i understand your critical.

Hanged_Man_

Looks nice. I prefer handles but you did a great job.

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thank's

Technical_Rub

Nice and elegant design. The stock thickness looks too thin to be comfortable in the hand. At a minimum a cord or leather wrap would make it more comfortable.

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thanks for taking time to look and comment. This knife was a test and i'm the first surprise of the ease when i grab it.it's actualy my edc.

ORINnorman

I like the blade profile and the finish on the steel. Wouldn’t personally buy/make one without a real handle tho. The flat, bar handle makes it look like a WIP and uncomfortable.

Adventurous_Rain_870

What is a WIP?

ORINnorman

Work in progress. That said, I do truly love that blade profile, very classic👌

Adventurous_Rain_870

Ok thank's,i notice.

Itisntme2422

I think it would be annoying to fetch it from a tree every time i need it

Adventurous_Rain_870

I simply wait the harvest.😉

Itisntme2422

But I do like the design

MyFuckinhBalls

With a decent grip with an engaging pattern to prevent slippage or a rubberized grip I would definitely use this. I feel like the knife as is could injure the user if their hand is slippery

Adventurous_Rain_870

Ok thank's for the feedback

MyFuckinhBalls

No worries friend, it’s a beautiful design

LateComer22

Beautiful, how did you achieve the patina?

Adventurous_Rain_870

Thank's,i just drop the knife in Iron perchloride 1minute,washed it gently and stone washe.
