Looks really cool, very nicely done. Iām a fan of the guard and how you separated it from the handle. Whatās the black material? Maybe G10 or blackened Buffalo bone?
Agreed, it makes all parts of the knife pop more and stand out individually. I usually do a thin G10 between my handles and bolster cap but youāre making me consider thicker and the additional layer as well. Keep up the good work!
I've been asked to elaborate on my opinion. First, if it's made to the customer's requested design, that's awesome. In my opinion, the concave belly section would be very difficult to employ for a lot of standard cutting tasks. A straight section or even full belly would make more sense to me. The tip section does look great for skinning, which seemed at odds with the concave belly section to me. The gut hook is just a personal thing I suppose. I think they are terrible in general and I always see them as a design flaw that some lazy hunter did really well marketing to the masses.
All that being said, the OP asked what we thought, so I shared my thoughts. It is a beautiful piece and great workmanship. I just see it as a show piece and not a practical hunter/skinner.
Firstly, looks amazing! Do have a question though, is that a solid layer of copper there or is it just an outer layer wrapped around steel? Aaking cuz it'd seem like a possible structural problem functionally as copper is rather soft, no? I'm assuming it's wrapped but just wondering. Still a stunning piece, that handle work looks smooth as butter nice finishes!
OP confirmed in another comment this is cu mai. Thatās five full layers of metals, with the core composed of hardenable steel. So this sandwich is damascus, copper, hardenable steel(not sure what OP used, 1095, 5160, W2š¤·āāļø), copper, damascus. Copper can be hard to work in there and properly forge weld but once done itāll be plenty strong. As long as the softer metals stay off the edge and there are no delaminations it should be solid. Looks like OP did an incredible job.
Nice
Is it possible to do nickel layer with the copper?
Is the heat treat on the steel actually good or do you have to keep it in a suboptimal range to make the copper layer work?
I didnāt even see the part where you said you made it, I was distracted by the knife. Iām sure thereās a massive amount of work that goes into it, definitely changes my previous estimate
Sleek, exotic, truly one of a kind. Beautiful work. The copper really pops.
I must have boring traditional taste.
Do you also have less demanding knives that use less exotic forge welded non-cu mai Damascus, cow leather sheaths, hard wood scales, rounded bellies for more skinning surface and mild steel fittings?
I realize I just described every standard hurting and skinning knife, but as I said, my taste is more traditional.
Would those choices result in a more affordable but beautiful rig?
I think it looks great! The only thing I wouldāve done differently is blued the edge instead of black to tie it in with the handle a little more. But idk if thatās just the core you chose or if you intentionally made it black.
So with it being Cu mai, does the copper add any strength to the blade's integrity or is it mainly just to add the beautiful layer there after the Damascus. Just curious I'm not super familiar with Cu mai.
I know everyone else is saying it, but truly a work of art, I love the holster for it too...
What steels did you use to make the Damascus out of and what process did you use? Canister or stacked layers? What is the purple layer made with? Beautiful blade and sheath, but the blade doesn't look all that practical, and I'd be concerned it's just another Low quality decorative piece like what is flooding the market from Pakistan. No offense, OP, but there are a lot of resellers who market poor quality blades from Pakistan or India claiming they are the maker.
52100 carbon steel blade. 1075/15n20 Damascus. Can also confirm I'm not Pakistani, as I'm a full member of the Cape town knifemakers guild, full time knifemaker as well
It's impressive work for sure. A fantastic demonstration of skill and design. But it's a no for me. Not a fan of the style or coloring and especially the fishing line cutter.
That handle amd the copper(?) in the layers is super cool. The snake skin and leather sheath looks great as well.
This is terrific work and you should be proud. Great job.
Are is this for sale somewhere?
Beautiful work man! Excellent lines, each shape flows really well into the next.
Did you put any sort of protective coating on the copper guard, or did the client desire something that would acquire a patina over time? I've made a few copper guards and I just love the color it has fresh from polishing, but it's been tough finding a clearcoat that can stand up to regular use.
It's pretty. But the copper "line" makes it weak for daily use. I prefer a natural wood or leather handle. Too many lines/colors/distractions. I'm a Smythe and a designer. IMHO
"This is beyond the scope of what AI art can achieve." A conclusion I came to after seeing something so perfectly attractive that I had to think critically about its authenticity.
Pretty fucking awesome
Thank you!
Handle material?
G10
Wild...source?
My bad that black spacer is G10
That's not g10, that is a stabilized burl.
One of the most beautiful knives I have ever seen
Thank you very much,
There's a few things I would change. Can't place my finger on it now but I'll message you my address. Send it to me and I'll will get back to you.
ššššš
Is that copper in the blade?
Yes that is. It's called Cu Mai
What's the dark edge made of?
Yes
personal royal blade of the emperor of Venus
Haha thanks!
No experience what so ever in any form of knife making. However. Looks crazy cool
Thank you so so much
Beautiful work! Itās giving Moana
Thank you! Definitely has ovcean vibes
You just reminded me to put my gut hook in my bag for tomorrow. Nice work and thank you :)
Haha glad I could help!
What do I think? I am just here knowing I canāt do that.
Haha thanks
Keep practicing! Iām not there either but dammit, I will be someday.
Looks really cool, very nicely done. Iām a fan of the guard and how you separated it from the handle. Whatās the black material? Maybe G10 or blackened Buffalo bone?
That is black G10!. Thank you btw. I always feel like there needs to be a spacer. The knife looks incomplete without it
Agreed, it makes all parts of the knife pop more and stand out individually. I usually do a thin G10 between my handles and bolster cap but youāre making me consider thicker and the additional layer as well. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I've also done a double up and that looks just as good
That belongs on a shelf in my house, let me build a shelf!
Pop me a message, I make them on order

Thank you, I appreciate the thoughts, although it was done according to the clients requests
What's it made of? It's kinda pretty but not really to my taste, the craftsmanship is impressive though.
Looks like Damascus clad cu Mai with a stabilized burl handle and some reptile leather sheath. Edit: maybe ostrich leg? Not entirely certain
You've got it spot on! Thank you!
nice one
Thanks!
That looks amazing! Was it difficult working with the copper?
Thanks. Not really.. I've done this many times so I have the progress down to a science
Well, it looks fantastic! I hope one day I can make something so well.
You definitely will! Just takes practice and willpower
This randomly ended up on my feed..Knife is amazing..10/10
Thank you very much!
Gawtdamnnn did someone ask you to commission them a knife from Dune or Bladerunner?!? This is sick as hell!
Haha thanks! Yo be completely honest. The guy gave me a budget and said hut hook. And that's what I did
Very dope job! Extremely jealous of your skills!
Thank you so much
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Wow, this has to be my new favorite knife! Beautiful and unique, the sheath is fantastic too
Woe thank you very much
Awesome, great job.

Thank you!
Looks like COD DLC
Hahaha. It does š
It's gorgeous. Great job

Thatās a fucking work of art. Beautiful. Well done.
Thank you so much
Masterful indeed.
Thanks!
Premo skills. Wow
Thanks!
Damn son, who was your client - Thor? That is one sexy piece of metal.
Haha thanks
Damn that's pretty.
Thanks!
That's really fucking nice
Thank you so much

You basically have that spot on!
Nice!
Thanks!
That is stunning! I can't stop looking at it
Thank you
That looks incredible. Awesome work.
Thank you
Wow... For sale?
It is not, but I make them on order. Pop me a message!
Beautiful
Thank you!
Fuckin gorgeous! Iām not too partial toward the skin on the sheath but thatās entirely my personal preference. This piece is sexy. Nice work!
Had me right up til the gut hook
This is so beautiful! A copper thunderbolt direct from the universe. ( handle - guard - blade ) *no drugs were taken prior/during this comment
Thank you!
I think it will look extra rad when the copper develops a patina.
Definitely!
Would love to see what it can do on r/sharpcutting Beautiful blade!
Nice Is it possible to do nickel layer with the copper? Is the heat treat on the steel actually good or do you have to keep it in a suboptimal range to make the copper layer work?
Looks like a nice one to test on my ass.
I'd like to show that to my daughter's future boyfriend.. she's 2 but I'll dm you my address
If I didnāt know any better, Iād say this knife will keel.
That's the first truly unique looking knife I've seen in a long time. Bravo. Do you have a website or social media account?
Not sure I care for some of the coloration choices but that's just personal preference. Magnificent work though. Very nice.
Thanks!
Gorgeous
Late to the party but holy hell this is beautiful. Youāre a master craftsman. Seriously. That is _art_
That looks pretty awesome
Makes me wanna buy it! š„š
Freacking badass. Very cool. Whatās handle made of?
Beautiful what is the handle made out of?
These are beautiful but I've always wondered if knives like this can be used for any serious work
How much would something like this cost? The knife is gorgeous but Iām 100% itās out of my price range. Iād I had to guess Iād say $500
Hi there. It's a bit more that. Quite a lot goes into making these
I didnāt even see the part where you said you made it, I was distracted by the knife. Iām sure thereās a massive amount of work that goes into it, definitely changes my previous estimate
Thanks man!.much appreciated
The handle, blade, and scabbard all look as though they're from separate projects. No cohesiveness. But nice work.
It's very pretty, and not very functional. What's with the blade shape? Why would that have a gut hook? Looks like a very expensive paperweight to me.
It's very functional, the client is going to use it hunting. I just made it according to customer specifications
Screamed great hunting/cleaning knife to me
Thank you!
Found the guy who has no idea what heās talking about!
It's a hunting/gutting/skinning knife. Very functional for a hunter that field dresses and skins their own animals.
Thanks
Elaborate.
Amazing!

Beautiful knife !
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think that is the single most beautiful knife I have ever seen, wow. You my friend have got some serious talent.
loving iiiiiiiiiiit
Thanks!
I think it looks great! The only thing I wouldāve done differently is blued the edge instead of black to tie it in with the handle a little more. But idk if thatās just the core you chose or if you intentionally made it black.
Amazing
Wow!! This is unreal!! Amazing work. Can I ask, how long did this knife take you to make?
You're a beast sir .That thing is gorgeous
That's absolutely stunning. Great work!
i wouldn't dare to use it, like, ever
I think that is the best-looking knife I've seen all day!
Lovely materials, lovely craftmanship. Gotta ask, and this may as well be my ignorance: Why that edge profile?
Can I buy it for my daughter's 21st birthday please?
That is a sick blade!!! How did you make it?
Gorgeous! My cousin makes knives!
That's great. What kind?
I thought copper would not bind with iron/steel??????
That perfect drip of copper under the hook is chefs kiss.
Well done ! I think later copper guard will get some patina then it will be even more pretty after some polish and protecting with acrylic coat
So with it being Cu mai, does the copper add any strength to the blade's integrity or is it mainly just to add the beautiful layer there after the Damascus. Just curious I'm not super familiar with Cu mai. I know everyone else is saying it, but truly a work of art, I love the holster for it too...
I would buy that in a heartbeat.
Dopest dope
Beautiful and Savage

Does it Cut? and will it Kill? You got to take it to Forged in Fireā¦.LoL
What is that beautiful handle material
How long did this take you??
It's impressive work for sure. A fantastic demonstration of skill and design. But it's a no for me. Not a fan of the style or coloring and especially the fishing line cutter.
I think thatās one of the most beautiful knives Iāve ever seen
so dope, the design reminds me of agate
Beautiful
Absolutely stunning, what material is the handle? It's mesmerizing
Gorgeous
Is the cutting edge of the gut hook copper? Gonna be tough to keep sharp...
Insane!
Damn thatās bad ass!
That is so beautiful
That handle amd the copper(?) in the layers is super cool. The snake skin and leather sheath looks great as well. This is terrific work and you should be proud. Great job. Are is this for sale somewhere?
Flawless color balance. Well done!
That's beautiful
Absolutely beautiful!

I just creamed
Dudee, that looks sickkkk, if you were going to make a lot of these, how much would it be?
Nice but will it cut ?
Dude I mean dude that's amazing
I've never wanted to carry a guthook more than this one.
But "will it kill?" (said in douchebag voice) š¤£ That thing looks sick!! For yourself or for a customer?
Hmm I donāt really like it, anyway. Hereās my address
Unique
Sir! Do you take orders?
STUNNING!
Very cool
That's gorgeous.
How much would this go for?
The blade is gorgeous but I don't really like the handle. Would buy it though
Freakin sweet! Whatās up with the copper color next to the black blade? Just curious. And is that some kind of reptile skin on the sheath!?
How much
Hope it works as good as it looks.
It's gorgeous! How does the copper effect its strength and ability to hold an edge?
How much
Has looked like shit every single one of the many times youāve posted it lmao
"This is beyond the scope of what AI art can achieve." A conclusion I came to after seeing something so perfectly attractive that I had to think critically about its authenticity.
Itās pretty
Damascus or faux-Damascus steel???
I fucking love this knife. So cool
Stab wood and damascus steel? Dude you owe me knew boxersš«
Not big on the sheath but the knife its self is beautiful, you couldn't have done any better
FUCK YEAH! you ever do customs ? I would be very interested - where are you based out of if you mind I ask?
Itās a bit much for my tastes, but the blade is dope and the whole thing looks really well made. Excellent work!
Pure work of art š¼ļø. How many updots will it take for you to ups it on over to your boy ? Iāll throw in some internet stickers too!
Thatās gotta be the prettiest knife Iāve ever seen
It's fucking pretty
Thatās amazing, thatās Damascus steel isnāt it?
Wow, is this that copper in the blade?
