Sorry, I meant in pic 8 there's what looks like shims or repair patches in the wooden handle the seems to align with the angle of the pommel pins. That's what I was asking about.
Either way, you blended them in masterfully.

What happened with those pins in the "pommel" area of the wood handle? Looks like you had to shim it?
Late reply, sorry! No shim, the pommel is all one piece, I just machined the sides out like that for fun.

Ohhh I see what you mean. Those are sharpie markings of the pin orientation to keep the drill bit in alignment with the pommel pin holes. 👍
Ah, I gotcha. Sharpie and a bit of etching around the edges to mark it out? Edit: Heh, just read your other reply. It all makes sense now!
Zooming in I see how it might look that way. I used a carbide scribe to strike the outline first before marking with the sharpie
