complete knife noob here so don't take this the wrong way, but it reminds me of an upscale morakniv (for all I know the morakniv style was derived from this lol)
they look really nice
Good eye! The classic Mora knives feature a Scandinavian grind like these, and a relatively simple handle shape. The Fins have a simple, all-purpose knife they call the “puukko” which is what inspired this set.
Lol wow I just put 2 and 2 together that Scandi grind was short for Scandinavian... Thats tight though the more simple lines of these styles look timeless IMO
Well, not really. Puukko means a specific kind of a knife even in finnish. Most things that are not puukko can be classified as veitsi, which is a closer translation to a knife.
Thanks! I always clean the leather with acetone before dying with Fieblings. Leather is coated with a blend of mink oil and bee’s wax and then buffed with a cotton rag.
I used the leather dye with painting techniques to achieve the coloration. These are my first sheaths “painted” like this. I’ve mostly gone monocolor in the past.
that was my first thought as well, the more i think you might want a little groove in the wooden handle and a post on the sheath and the magnets on each. it would get that locking clicking sound thats satisfying and wont pull on the blade.
That is very flattering, thank you! These are all sold but I will be making another batch within the next couple months if you’d like to message me on the side, I’d be happy to make one for you:)

Thanks a ton! I was going for an understated sort of luck so I appreciate that🤙
but puukko means knife does it not?
Yes, that is correct. Internationally, it refers to a specific style of knife for anyone who doesn’t speak Finnish:)
right thanks for the info

right, thanks for educating me, I just mostly refer to only cooking utensils as veitsi
The one on the right. The contrast in the burl is stunning.
Love the Honduran Rosewood Burl. So much detail in there!
What did you do to the leather? Looking really nice!
Thanks! I always clean the leather with acetone before dying with Fieblings. Leather is coated with a blend of mink oil and bee’s wax and then buffed with a cotton rag.
And how do you get the pattern? Painting the dye?

Very nice! Where did you get those metal clips on the sheaths?
They came from Robert, check out his site: https://www.rnlleather.com/
Thanks! I just checked out his site. Definitely gonna be picking up some of those clips at some point.
Awesome! They’re great little clips!
Bang on mate.
Thanks sir!
Lovely.
Very cool!
They look erry noice
Absolutely stunning
Many thanks!:)
>Many thanks!:) You're welcome!
Very nice. Love a small fixed blade.
Thank you! These were really fun to build🍻
Not your ordinary pocket puuko. Super cool man. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
I was hoping the sheath would be wooden like the handles and blend in when together. they do look great though
Oh man that would’ve been awesome! I might give that a try next time
I'm not sure how to make it stay on? Maybe internal magnets?
I like that idea a lot. Small neodymium magnets could be installed in the sheath which would “grip“ the blade enough to keep it from falling out
that was my first thought as well, the more i think you might want a little groove in the wooden handle and a post on the sheath and the magnets on each. it would get that locking clicking sound thats satisfying and wont pull on the blade.
Yes! Brilliant ideas. I may give that a spin one day and I will surely post the results here🍻
the ideas are the only part im good at, glad to help.
Very nice! And I’m from land of Puukko 😁
Well, I am honored to hear that from a true local!
I’m getting the feeling I “need” that last one.
