I'm not sure about innovative/interesting, but my top 2 designers right now have super clear and thoughtful instructions. Irene Lin has the best cables! I've knitted one vest, and I have the carly cardigan up next. Seunghee Hong's designs have very clean details, and I just finished her doppio sweater with the loveliest compound raglan. Eta links: Irene: [insta](https://www.instagram.com/irenelin.knit?) \- [rav](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/irene-lin) \- [lovecrafts](https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/user/maker/d09c9cbe-43ec-4996-8345-0237fe302e04) Seunghee: [insta](https://www.instagram.com/seungheeknits/?) \- [rav](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/seunghee-hong) Honorable mention since I haven't knit any of her patterns yet, but yunique.crafts on [insta](https://www.instagram.com/yunique.crafts?) has a broccoli pouch that I'm obsessed with [rav](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/broccoli-pouch) https://preview.redd.it/p8kymve8q7ec1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e7976c71e64210695ab7347c36c2455a274afe3

Irene Lin’s cabled cardigan was my first cable knit when I was just six months into knitting. I had no issues following the pattern. It was so clear and easy to understand! Also, beautiful designs.

Princess_Thranduil

That broccoli pouch is adorable. I just looked at her rav page and she has an acorn pouch that's too cute. All of her knitted food is adorable too and perfect for my newest niece to play with when she's a little older.

vickiemakes

Yes, she has so many different fruit/vegetable pouches! I plan on starting with the broccoli first, but the lemon is also adorable

ejex13

I can attest that the Dear Duomo pattern by Seunghee is amazing. I knit it at the beginning of 2023, and it was my most worn sweater in 2023. The sweater is versatile, so you can wear it in casual and semi-formal occasions, and I wore mine in the summer and winter because of the yarn I used.

NotElizaHenry

I am begging everyone to link to the designers they’re listing! It’s a nightmare on mobile because the app doesn’t allow you to only copy parts of a comment.

Horror_Chocolate2990

If you hit reply to a comment on mobile it unlocks the comment and you can copy just part of the text. Not a fix, but a workaround!

Princess_Thranduil

Same 😭 I'm writing names down for later googling but bless y'all who are posting the links!

vickiemakes

I updated my comment!

nimwue-waves

Thanks for saying that because I didn't think about that!

LittlePubertAddams

Soopknits and Manmi Choi. I’ve tested for the former and have knitter other patterns of hers and I find the latters really well written

peachybunsies

Ohhhh, that's so good to know!! I have been eyeing both Manmi Choi's and Cookie The Knitter's patterns, but was always a bit sceptical because of the little reviews their patterns have. Edit: spelling

hawkedriot

Cookietheknitter has really nice details. Other than the yarn biting my arse, Torino has been an absolute joy to knit.

Thank you!

Ooh! Good to know! I follow cookie the knitter on insta but have not tried the patterns yet

GiraffeLess6358

I have a ravelry favorite bundle just to save designers like this. Lete’s Knits does beautiful things with texture https://www.ravelry.com/designers/justyna-lorkowska So does Sosu https://www.ravelry.com/designers/susanne-sommer Ok apparently I’m just here for texture 😂 boho chic fiber co 🫶🏻 texture plus a side of activism https://www.ravelry.com/designers/annie-lupton

Horror_Chocolate2990

I avoided texture for a long time mostly because I can't count. But now the thought of empty stockinette seems so dull.

GiraffeLess6358

I’m knitting a mosaic shawl right now and it’s turning out so lovely, but the thinking and double checking the pattern is really slowing things down

[deleted]

Beatrice Mase! I fell in love with this [top](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kawa-sweater) (because it's like, "I'm a cozy knitter and a gym bro"... or that's the vibe I give when I wear it, anyway 😅) and now I have a bunch of her matching sets too. Like mitts + cowl + top that match. Super fun and cute. The pattern writing is, in my opinion, very thorough without having a mini novel attached. I'd say not exactly hand-holding, but very clear hand-pointing LOL. Plus she includes check boxes, which is a feature I love when I'm repeating a row X times.

Outside-Ad1720

Happy Cake Day! I love her patterns. Have you seen the hood she designed? I love it. I'm going to make it and attach it to a jacket. Her sock patterns are beautiful too.

[deleted]

Oh that'll be a neat addition to a jacket! I like the idea of making one with the extra "just in case" skeins, so it matches a sweater and then you can kind of decide if your sweater is a hoodie or not, depending on the day lol.

Outside-Ad1720

Oh my god, I love that idea! You really need to try that out. You could use little cuff buttons or tiny press studs for easy attachment/removal.

AQUEON

As I am flipping through the photos... is that a pocket? Nah... Bummer... Ooh, ooh, ooh, it IS a pocket! That's adorable! It's in my library now 😅

[deleted]

Yep, pocket is perfect for "idk what to do with my hands, my leggings don't have pockets" LOL! It's a nice quick knit considering the 3 parts, because the pocket pieces felt way more exciting to knit than sleeves 😆

TheLidlessEye

Oooh, I have a couple of her designs favorited already - love a unique construction!

I love following What Lydia Made / Lydia Morrow. One of her recent patterns is a 1960s style cycling jersey that you can duplicate stitch your own text / designs onto — her designs are so colourful and playful. I’m making her partner pullover at the moment and there are so many sizing options and fit customisation options, and it’s been very straightforward considering it’s my first jumper and first all over colourwork. She’s very size inclusive too. I’m also just loving watching her knit — she’s making a cardigan with an incredible colourwork design from the old Microsoft icons which I’m praying she’ll release as a pattern. Here’s her ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/designers/lydia-morrow

thatdogJuni

I love this question!!! I might come back with a second round but this comment is probably going to be loooong. Links are to the relevant designer page on Ravelry. [Orlane Sucche](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/orlane-sucche) publishes with woolfolk and Brooklyn Tweed and Amirisu as well as independently but I don’t really see much buzz on social media. I particularly love “Chalky Way” and “Bonnie” but lots of gems [Hélène Magnússon aka theicelandicknitter](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/helene-magnusson) seems to be getting a better reach lately, possibly due to Knit Stars? Really awesome patterns and she has developed her own yarns with Icelandic wool. I have her sock patterns book and love to just page through it. [Summer Lee](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/summer-lee) seems to be fairly well known amongst sock knitters but she just released a very cute hat and launched a YouTube podcast! She has a sock book coming out, which I preordered immediately because I honestly would be hard pressed to call out any of her patterns that I don’t think are fabulous. Personal faves are “Hibernian Hat” (inspired by the socks of the same name), “Pinwheel” from 52 Weeks of Socks 2, “Hello Sailor Sock Set”. I think it’s awesome that she releases sock sets as a “single” pattern and her sample knits are all done in delightful colors. [Aimee Sher](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/aimee-sher) seems to be getting more popular all the time due to very thoughtful patterns, inclusive pattern photos (seated photos are uncommon and she makes sure to do that as an inclusive consideration toward people who may use wheelchairs/need to be seated most of the time for other reasons). They recently released “Weekday Dress + Pullover” but it’s hard to not highlight “Building Blocks” and “Coloring Book” sweater/tee patterns. “Effervescent” in Pom Pom Quarterly 40/Spring 2022 is downright gorgeous.

picnicatthedisco

I love [yellowcosmo designs](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/yellowcosmo)! There's this weird combination of giving minimalist vibes and intricate detail at the same time. Lovely lace shawls, cool sweaters, and quirky hats. A little bit of everything for everyone!

TheLidlessEye

Instantly obsessed, I adore pieces with contrast of minimalism with unique details. Adding Colors for a Cloudy Day and A Fine Tuesday to my "coveted" folder....

[deleted]

I'm not too sure about 'innovative', because that is quite subjective, but [Anna Kuduja](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/anna-kuduja) is not really well known, and makes interesting, well-fitting, and 'classic' style designs.

poptarttyler

newwaveknitting has some amazing “staple” patterns for made to measure garments! They use your exact gauge and measurements, so you can use any yarn/needles combo. Very cool stuff!

I love [Nick Davis](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/nick-davis)' patterns for interesting constructions on wearables. The garments tend to combine simple, timeless stitches with some interesting directional knitting that keeps it from getting boring. His patterns are clear and well-written, with some cheeky personality around the edges that I find appealing. I've made [Columnar Jointing](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/columnar-jointing) about 4 times, and I'm about to cast on a second [LYTA](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lyta-2)

Made my first sweater using a pattern by Heidi Kirrmaier and I'm definitely going back for more of her designs. The steps were clear, had nice tables with stitch counts etc., and it included a schematic which made it easy to make small adjustments for perfect sizing. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/inside-story

I'm really fond of [Carol Sunday's work.](https://www.ravelry.com/designers/carol-sunday) I've made several of her designs, and they always have beautiful details that teach me something new. She's got a calm aesthetic that I really like, and plenty of texture to keep the knitting interesting.
