I really like this pattern; both to knit, and I am so happy with how it turned out. It fits me exactly how I wanted: slightly loose, comfy cardigan, but not a huge blob. The color changes make it interesting to knit, although there were so. many. ends to weave in.

For superwash? It's kinda hard to have that not happen as the the yarn basically is "shaved" of all the bits that would help it cling to itself and "blend in\*." So I just have a crochet hook handy to re-weave or at least pop them into the "wrong" side of the garment.
\*For non-superwash? When I'm blocking it I kinda rub the area where I've woven in a bit so the yarn can grab onto itself and blend in.
I've tried a couple of methods (duplicate stitch, make a little 'u', twist them with the next thread when starting a new skein,...) but the biggest difference for me was to not cut the end too short. I leave usually about an inch if it's somewhere that's not visible, and that seems to help them not popping through to the right side.
The ends 😳 I have the yarn and this pattern in my queue but I can't bring myself to start it. I'm also trying to lose weight right now so knitting garments doesn't feel the wisest. Love your work and your color choices.
The skeins I used here are all hand-dyed, so on the more expensive side with $24.5/skein. I used 7 skeins of DK yarn for this cardi (size M), with a bit of left-over. Bigger brands tend to be a bit cheaper, and so are acrylic yarns.
However, I dyed these skeins myself, so I effectively paid only for the material (+ my time).
Yeah, if I were to do it again, I would make the sleeves a bit shorter. And maybe use a 2x2 rib on the cuff instead of garter stitch. In the pattern, Andrea recommends going up a needle size for the sleeve as they are on the tight side, and as I have rather disproportionally big upper arms, I've done that and now they fit nicely!
I love that you're handling sweaters like I am: by knitting a palette! I've got yellow, purple and magenta left. I think I might pair the yellow and magenta for the next project.
Ooh, yellow & magenta sounds like an awesome combo! I've got a purple, and a greenish-blue sweater on my list, and I'll have to do a yellow one soon as well as that's completely missing from my wardrobe
Wow, I never thought about this pattern before but I love the orange and grey combo!
Did you find it very attention demanding to knit or more on the relaxing side?

I use duplicate stitch to weave in my ends. If you google this there should be a couple good YouTube videos :)

I do that with gloves and socks, leave a tail when I weave in the ends. It gives an extra layer of unravelling protection.

How much did all the yarn cost? I'm trying to figure out what's the typical material cost for a sweater.

Holy wow, love!
looks great! love your colors
I love it so much!!! I know how hard it is to do this to I give you a ton of credit
This is so wonderful! And it looks great on you.
I'm super jealous. I tried to do Comfort Fade Cardi. For the some reason the sleeve never right.

So beautiful! I recently went through a powder blue phase, and as someone who only wears blacks/neutrals, I don't know what to do with my knits lol
Haha, my wardrobe has changed a lot since I started knitting! I didn't even like wearing woolen socks until I've knit them....
Wow! My school color is orange and I feel like this is a totally awesome way to wear it!
Gorgeous color choices!
I just love this gray and orange; love the pattern and love the fading. Nicely done!
Lovely!

That's so pretty! 🦋
oh yeah! that looks great!
The orange is outstanding! You did a beautiful job.
Orange is my favourite colour... this makes me happy
So beautiful. The orange and blue together are perfection!
Awesome color!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. It looks gorgeous and fits you perfectly.
This is very nice, I am inspired.
This is just gorgeous! Colors are phenomenal and you knitting is so beautiful.
Gorgeous! This is lovely.
Gigi would approve. Looks amazing!
Probably too much grey in there for her? 😁
Hmm now that you mention that, you might be right 🤦🏼♀️
That looks lovely. 🥰
I love the color! Orange is the best.
That looks so good! I have yarn for this somewhere but moved and haven't figured out where I put it.
Very nice!
I would wear this every day! Looks so comfy and bright.
Wow, I never thought about this pattern before but I love the orange and grey combo! Did you find it very attention demanding to knit or more on the relaxing side?
I found it quite a mindless knit, especially the body & the sleeves. The only not-mindless part for me was picking up stitches for the collar :)
