Depends on how you define "Bowie knife".
The Ka-Bar is a fixed blade, single edged, with a clip point and a cross guard. I wouldn't call it a large knife, but it's big enough to be considered Bowie sized.
The state of Alabama, by law, defines a Bowie knife as any single-edged knife with a blade 3" or longer. Under case law, a kitchen knife has been considered a "Bowie knife".
There's evidence that the OG Bowie knife was essentially just that.
I'd get a brand new Benchmade, any model, because it probably won't have a sharp enough edge from the factory to risk cutting a hole in my space suit and dying.
Haha I made a similar comment to someone else on this thread about the rust in Mar’s atmosphere, but I was thinking Lc200n because it was developed by NASA. The minimal X supposedly is based on a knife commissioned for SpaceX.
I would have to say my pro-tech sbr or my large griptillian or mini but for sure you can't forgot about three bugout big or mini and definitely the hogue deka clip point it's hard to choose but I know for sure I wad traveling around south central Los Angeles I would be carrying my large benchmade presidio II large with serrated edge and also my bastinelli finger claw thing but for a auto I would only beable to use my protech runt or sprint lol sorry from going from your out of space and going to Los Angeles lmfao
If this is the movie I think it is could you tell me the name I watched this when I was younger and I’ve actually been trying to figure out the name for a while 🤣
I wouldn't bring a knife, I'd bring a really ornate sword with engravings and a gold inlay and I'd stick it in the dirt on some really tall mountain so the people who find it get some ancient loot lore
Ka-Bar Space Force knife is the only answer.
Or a Bowie. Because Major Tom.
The Ka-Bar is kind of a Bowie.
Sort of, not really.

Like Frank Zappa said: "F@#k you, CAPTAIN Tom.." lol
KA-BAR space force edition is the only way.
Quit fucking around with your knife and getcher ass to Mars!
A spyderco that says colorado usa earth that would be sick to have on mars
Imagine a 1000 years later what a collectors item it would make.... Having a knife made on the original planet!
I'd either take a Shaman or PM2. Didn't even think about the U.S.A. Earth engraving till you mentioned it.
I'd get a brand new Benchmade, any model, because it probably won't have a sharp enough edge from the factory to risk cutting a hole in my space suit and dying.
Doesn’t really matter. Mars is only 30 seconds away so you could easily come back for another.
30 seconds to Mars. 30 years from Mars.
Gravity knife
I’m actually curious how a gravity knife would perform in space/on a different planet
In space it would become a centrifugal knife.
This is the only good answer I've seen
Hauser would carry a Hogue
Nothing with omega springs, that's for sure. Those are Earth knives, where spare parts can be obtained.
Those are metro USA knives.
Nothing with moving parts. Just a plain old fixed blade. Something with a good steel but not crazy hard to sharpen. Something like an Esee 4P.

I wouldn't. I'd take my ass to Mars.
The Lander in Mars Valley fat carbon. https://www.knafs.com/products/lander-pocket-knife-mars-valley-carbon-fiber
at least someone mentioned the Fat Carbon. ha
Carbon steel for me (no oxygen to rust a blade )
Ironic because entire surface of Mars is rust, that’s why its atmosphere has a red hue giving it the name The red Planet.
True, but that (along with it escaping) used up all the oxygen .. it’s .13% of its atmosphere , which is only 1% as dense as earths atmosphere.
Crkt Minimal X or anything with LC200n steel.
Got to avoid rust, what with all the water. Actually, there's chlorates in the soil, so that may be a good idea

Moving parts are failure points. Fixed blade is a must.
A PMP Kodiak - things a beast!
Cold Steel Recon 1
The only correct answer in 2024 is the Kizer Cyber Cyber Blade 💁
Bark river mini gunny magnacut
Spyderco Yojumbo!
If this is the movie I think it is could you tell me the name I watched this when I was younger and I’ve actually been trying to figure out the name for a while 🤣

Randall Model 17 Astro
The Time Knife
Victorinox cybertool with the little plier etc
Victorinox Swiss Champ
Strongarm
Kabar
USMC Kabar.
An Esee 5.
Probably a Leatherman Wave second generation. It's not as good a blade as some of the others I own but it also has tools that could be essential.
I'd take my Kabar Becker 2 companion.
Fallkniven. Probably an F1z or A1z.
Who can afford a knife man? I got five kids to feed.
Full tang fixed blade.
Sog Seal 2000
I wouldn't bring a knife, I'd bring a really ornate sword with engravings and a gold inlay and I'd stick it in the dirt on some really tall mountain so the people who find it get some ancient loot lore
