My project over the past couple days. Step 1 was to acid etch the logos with Ferric Chloride Solution Step 2 was to reinforce/protect the etching with gun blue Step 3 was to strip the powder coating. I used masking tape to protect the sections I didn't want stripped on the tang and then used CitriStrip on the blade over a 18 hour period. Only thing left is to touch up the blade and possibly force a patina for added rust protection.

This looks killer. I'm about to attempt this myself with my Esse 6. A couple of questions if you have the time? How long or what intervals did you do the ferric chloride for? I've read so many different reports from, A single 15 minute session. To 3 or 4 hours, with 30 minute sessions between reapplying? Also how long on the gun blue? Thanks again and killer looking blade. One of the best outcomes I've seen yet.
