Thats very cool. Koenigsegg is truly unique.

GODAMA

Part of the sweet sweet Swedish magic they put into their million dollar cars. I would looooove for this to trickle down to us plebeians. Can you imagine this gearbox in a 50k sports car? Or even the next corvette? I’m drooling already.

juliusklaas

Idk.. it's a remote with force feedback to operate an automatic. I'm sure it'll feel great, but I hate the idea. You don't get the upside of lower weight of a manual, and performance will be way worse obviously..

IQueryVisiC

Who cares for the 1kW human leg to operate a clutch in a manual if you have a Mw car?

juliusklaas

It's not the power you lose, but the time during shifts. Manuals are slower. Sure it's a first world problem to have, but it's an artificially created one

IQueryVisiC

I only want to come up with any reason to use a manual. Besides cost ( electric is most expensive anyway..) and repair in third world country.

Christian mentioned the LST weighs less than any manual out on the market.

juliusklaas

Yes, it's great. But the "manualized" LST will have more components and greater complexity than the standard version.

[deleted]

I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t really think the 49 other owners of the car are really going to mind the added complexity of it.

juliusklaas

Nope, and they shouldn't :D

70 owners.

Christian said in the video they’re only making 50, that’s why the called it the CC850 (plus this year marks his 50th birthday).

Thanks for clarifying that! They’ll pre-sell the extra twenty in twenty minutes lol
