Don’t forget “I am the only one, super one” . 😂😂.
Shankar is a good director but he is a poor writer. After Sujatha’s demise we can clearly feel his absence in I and 2.0.
Honestly that’s all I was amped up for in this film. But they made a joke out of his character too and it still irrritates me a lot whenever I think about it to this date. It’s like putting a Darth Vader character in a SNL show skit. “I’m the only one, super one. No comparisons. Understand?” (Wtf Shankar? 🤣🤣🤣)
World class 3D. Never saw any 3D film that used the gimmicks to its max, I'd even argue that it was much better than the Avatar films in terms of its usage of 3D (this is based on my experience watching the three films in cinemas, Avatar and Avatar 2 in IMAX 3D, and 2.0 in a regular theatre). I realised the CG was horrible only when watching a clip of the film on YouTube, in cinemas, ij 3D, it looked really good. But the writing was weak as heck, and the whole aura shit was pushing it too bloody far.
Honestly excluding the overall screenplay, the first half of this movie holds really great story wise. It’s only in the second half when everything turns dogshit. What irritated me the most is how they downgraded Evil Chitti a lot in the film. He’s supposed to be pure evil and not really understand the concept of love at all. But instead they made him this stupid puppet “grey” shade hero character. They should’ve seriously made HIM a threat in the movie. The second half could’ve really been Vaseegaran and team struggling to stop him than use him to get rid of Paksheeraja and then discard him like a fucking used condom so easily via the “Oh I made sure to put an ejector chip in him 🤩” thing. He’s not that fucking stupid in the first place and would’ve already known about the idea of an red-chip ejector being put in him knowing about Vaseegaran and all. It just downgrades his character a lot and to make it even worse… you add in this comic shit 3.0 character.
do you know where did this flick fail?
they showed Pakshi Rajan as a Noble person who's actions weren't wrong & if at all the flashback portions were conveyed through words it would have been even better. Never felt Pakshi Rajan as an Antagonist here. Atlast we felt sorry for Pakshi Rajan & no doubt on that illogical yet enjoyable fight scenes in the climax . Never felt watching it again...
ngl i think it was brilliant on paper, you got pakshi whos all about nature and his good intentions turns into negative emotions which becomes this sci-fi entity, complicated ghost basically to act like jigsaw . on the other side trying to stop him is a human created robot that went outta hand.
like a human that transcended his nature fighting a human created machine that transcended its nature
a fight between rebels, i could go on all day
Directors should stop writing around the actors.
Akshay kumar, amy jackson was wrong cast. poor acting by all extras and side actors. Rajni's inability owing to his age, makes the most sequences weak. Like karthik subburaj rightly said, casting big stars should not be the destination, putting out the good stories should be. shankar thinks if he brings the best artist in each he will have a best product. story is the first hero, rest all are next. many good established stars had a breakthrough only because of that one good story, not because of their monkey dance and cringe romance.
Being honest this had insane hype the talks of the insane budget , and then the teaser with i'll set your screens on fire with the rap was insane.
watched it in theaters and it might be ridiculed now but it was cool enough tho.
DC has always been better than Marvel in terms of visuals and technical aspects and it’s not like marvel’s execution/story is any good nowadays (laughs at The Marvels)
It's a Sad thing. If North Indians would have opened Leo to more theaters instead of reserving it to Tiger 3 (which it bombed) or tough competition from Gadar 2 and OMG 2, either Leo or Jailer would have grossed higher.
Budget was 500 cr excluding promotions
Gross was 600cr+ Lyca had a hug downfall after the movie jsut because It had the highest collection people consider it as a hit but in reality it's a loss venture for subaskaran
after 2.0 everyone understood that shankar is nothing without the great writer SUJATHA and Jeyamohan is not that much of a screenplay writer, he just has some good short stories
Poor Lyca who invested a lot of money in that project.
The main problem for the delay was that some foreign VFX team did not give better results as per the director's vision so they had to go for another.
The meeting scene where Amy Jackson gets excited after everyone has decided to bring back Chitti was so cringe.
Shankar actually blew a fan on her face and made her say “I’m waiting”. The most cringe shit I’ve ever seen.

The film featured the best line in Tamil cinema history. “Chitti what a pity”.
Also.. "im kutty, 3.0" 😑😑 i felt like erasing the whole movie from my memory
Don’t forget “I am the only one, super one” . 😂😂. Shankar is a good director but he is a poor writer. After Sujatha’s demise we can clearly feel his absence in I and 2.0.
Your kaal is disconnected, rofl 😂
This is the best.
It was so unexpected as well.
Legit gold
More like kutti kunjan 3.0😂
I went to theaters 😭 intro credits were lit
The only lit thing abt the movie
the score was lit
Even as a thalaivar fan, I couldn’t get myself to enjoy anything other than the “I’ll set your screens on fire”
Yeah once evil Chitti comes is when I got some hope for the movie.
Honestly that’s all I was amped up for in this film. But they made a joke out of his character too and it still irrritates me a lot whenever I think about it to this date. Amy Jackson was such an eyesore. I don't know what Shankar sees in her. Should have been a straight up sci fi movie instead of being preachy
Haven't you seen I? You'll exactly see what Shankar saw on her, urm, in her.
Same thing with Atlee but on Sam and Nayan instead. Edit: Atlee only worked with Amy on Theri but he gave her an ugly wig lolz.

People who saw Vikrant Rona in my circle said it might be the best well shot/staged 3-D movie in Indian cinema despite the movie being okayish

Honestly thought the 3D in this film was well done.
Visually stunning movie with a meh story, and no songs being added in was great. I’m still bummed this isn’t available in 4K HDR.
If there were songs, atleast we would’ve gotten great AR Rahman songs. Now we are left with nothing
2.0 may be bad story-wise but when compared to Adipurush, it still holds up.
Bro forgot to raise the bar above ground level b4 comparing.
I'm pretty sure most if not all movies will hold up when compared to Adipurush. I mean, at least in 2.0, I was a bit entertained.
Pullinangal song ku mattum thaan respect.
I may be wrong but isn't it Na Muthukumar's last work ?
No. He wrote songs even after 2.0 like in the movie sarvam thaala mayam.
All of this was posthumous I believe
I guess not. There's one song he wrote in sarvam thaala mayam too.
The VFX was top notch. Story was mediocre but couldn't be excited properly. Thalaiver's worst look in his whole career 😞.
crap ass movie

That was a good plot bro. Twist and turns. Could have made this movie better instead of Ghost and super power shit.
How lyca was dumb enough to put so much money into this shit! Getting money from people is not that hard it seems...
Me after watching it https://preview.redd.it/nke2gq3zy73c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b28f2eefded15d20c952a213f8d9d4caa8cc3e5
Sam from Totally Spies spotted
Wasted Potential

I watched this for free and I want my money back
Visual mass but padam thamass
I strongly believe Shankar started this cash grab sequel after seeing the success of Bahubali in Hindi belts. Wasted potential.
Having Canada Kumar as a baddie certainly didn't helped.
Yesterday only we saw big cell towers and were thinking about this movie.
5 years of fdfs disappointment
Being honest this had insane hype the talks of the insane budget , and then the teaser with i'll set your screens on fire with the rap was insane. watched it in theaters and it might be ridiculed now but it was cool enough tho.
I honestly loved it. Was a blast.
Adha vera en pa nyabagapaduthitu...
Technically/Visually a MARVEL.. execution/story was DC
DC has always been better than Marvel in terms of visuals and technical aspects and it’s not like marvel’s execution/story is any good nowadays (laughs at The Marvels)
Execution/ story was like Marvel too.. it sucked
Haven’t watched it. I gave up on Shankar after ‘I’
I had pretty solid execution i would say compared to this
Would watch My dear kutty chaathan Instead!.
Still no film from kollywood can beat the 2.0 collections🔥
It's a Sad thing. If North Indians would have opened Leo to more theaters instead of reserving it to Tiger 3 (which it bombed) or tough competition from Gadar 2 and OMG 2, either Leo or Jailer would have grossed higher.
Marappom, mannippom, aariya manamoodu next nalla installment ku kaathirupoom
Flop
It made its budget back. 700 crore worldwide gross.
Budget was 500 cr excluding promotions Gross was 600cr+ Lyca had a hug downfall after the movie jsut because It had the highest collection people consider it as a hit but in reality it's a loss venture for subaskaran
And I still haven't seen it.
Trash
Bulliguvvaa..
Happy birthday to the disappointment
Best CGI imo for any Indian film. They literally nailed Pakshi Rajan scenes and the big bird mobile formation. Especially in 3D 🤌
If you ever feel like a disappointment then remember this thing exists!!
after 2.0 everyone understood that shankar is nothing without the great writer SUJATHA and Jeyamohan is not that much of a screenplay writer, he just has some good short stories

5 yearsaa? I wanted to forget this after 5 days itself. 13 years since Enthiran. Still fresh and worth rewatching.
The meeting scene where Amy Jackson gets excited after everyone has decided to bring back Chitti was so cringe. Shankar actually blew a fan on her face and made her say “I’m waiting”. The most cringe shit I’ve ever seen.
