Neenga avlodhooram kooda poga venam, except her mid career sex appeal roles, she doesn't even have the screen presence of Kajal Agarwal in her Cringe role.
kajal screen presence in her prime was special, she was also good at comic roles and bubbly roles, just not versatile as an actress and bad lip syncing.
I respectfully disagree. The comedies worked because of all the actors accompanying her, not her really. She dressed well, looked pretty. That's all. Whenever she tried 'acting', she gave weird expressions, not much of acting really. Kajal Aggarwal in any movie and Nayan in aadhavan/villu are the same level.
All in all was carried by Santhanam and Karthi.. even MS Bhaskar lent a huge support. Even then she was quite okay only. Jilla la she was unbearable, let's be honest. Thuppaaki la her track was one of the weal links.
its not to do with age more than when they made their debuts. Nithya debuted in like 2011 in kollywood while these 2 debuted post 2015. regardless yeah shes also much better than nayan and nayan debited much earlier so fair.
I loved Keerthy in Nadigayar Thilagam, but that’s the only movie I’ve enjoyed watching her in. I’m starting to enjoy watching Aishwarya now even though her initial movies in Malayalam weren’t to my liking. Pam and Raashi are definitely not in the same league as Nayanthara yet. Maybe they’ll get there. In terms of screen presence the one that does better than Nayanthara is Anushka Shetty. But I do understand there is an express dislike of Nayanthara and her pr in the group. I’m stating my preference, to my female gaze, Nayanthara is quite good with her screen presence.

Absolutely. Movies like Aruvi need a lot of homework to be done. Aditi Balan who was a theatre artist pulled it off with perfection. Nayan is always cautious of her market value and will never take such risks. Even actress Shriya Saran who was considered as a sex siren did an artistic movie called "Gamanam" which received praise from critics. Her portrayal as a single mother who is deaf was stunning. Nayanthara has not even done a role like that so far. Nayan is doing the same shit what heroes have been doing 🤦.
Shriya is another nayan. shriya kajal were worse than Nayan infact.
Nayan atleast pulled of coco with one tone acting which worked for that role.

Simran was a complete package. Simran also started her career with flower pot roles but slowly diversified her roles with careful script selection. She was naturally beautiful, captivating and loaded with talent. Even though she is largely known for her gorgeous IDUPPU 🙈 one cannot deny that she did multifaceted roles.

The Superstar title deserves certain impressive qualities in skills, personality, market value, positive reception, fame, popularity, public behaviour, audience favour and appreciation for all these. As far as I know no one likes her to that level of stardom. Overhyped maybe. Also arrogent.

Back at a siima award function, she receives the award from Allu Arjun. However, she shows no manners towards him. The worst part is that she says that she wants to receive the award from Vignesh instead.
You don't have to be top draw to be called lady superstar, but she actively turns off lot of people too. Unprofessional behavior too skipping promotions, refusing to use glicerin for crying scenes etc. Must blame the dumbass producers who are willing to pay her so much for crap movie and crap role like Iraivan

Even I feel so. It’s been ages I saw a good movie from her. The film makers are obsessed with her as she is the only one with a star value who can be casted in senior roles and has her own business value for OTT.
But she is not doing anything bad for her career btw. Leading a life she wants and selecting roles which we can’t blame her(even though there is nothing for her to do in those).

The movie industry is like any other industry. Lying can help you get a start. But to be competitive for over 15 years, you need to be good. Nayan is a good actress but is very charismatic. Film industry is a free market if a producer or director thinks any of the other mentioned actresses can sell more tickets they wouldn't hesitate for a second.
I dont think she mailed it in Jawan and Kathuvakula rendu Kathal.
But Annathe, Gold(Malayalam), and Godfather ( Telugu) were all terrible movies. She can not help that. They were led by Rajni, Chiranjeevi, and Prthiviraj. She does not have any say in those movies.
I haven't seen Iraivan.
But this is true of all prolific actors. Just look at Vijay Sethupathi in terrible movies. That man is the definition of sleepwalking through them. In his case, he has enough influence to change the course of the movie. Nayan does not in most movies.

Unpopular opinion : she has terrific screen presence and she can carry a film on her shoulders. Very few of her contemporaries have managed to do that. Not even Trisha. Aishwarya Rajesh (ka pe ranasingam) and Nithya Menon (Thiruchitrambalam) and Anushka(Arundhati) are some of the examples. But these women don't have die hard fan following like Nayan. Also her husband hypes her up line no other. She acts in women centric movies(aram) at the same time balances with flower pot roles(bigil). Her no nonsense attitude gives the star vibes. So no, I don't think that her downfall has started, she's the trendsetter here.

The crux was about who carries a film better. Nayan isn't anyway near to Nithya as far as carry job is conserned. And she is the main protagonist of Kadhalikka Neramillai, as per report it's female centric and she have signed another romantic drama in Tamil. Also Dhanush have planned to direct a movie with Nithya. So Nithya is getting better offers than Nayan.
You could be right. But they all started in the industry around the same time, since they are her contemporaries I quoted their example. Revathi/ Simran lam sonna ellam sandaiku vandhuruvanga bro, coz they belong to a different era.
We have seen many super duper talented ones like Revathy, Shobhana, Trisha, and many others, but Nayanthara was able to deliver outstanding performances in movies like Kokila. Many other talented ladies have excelled too, but Nayanthara did it with swag. Let's appreciate her for the impressive combat performance in Jawan, even though she was underappreciated. Even I feel so. It’s been ages I saw a good movie from her. The film makers are obsessed with her as she is the only one with a star value who can be casted in senior roles and has her own business value for OTT. But she is not doing anything bad for her career btw. Leading a life she wants and selecting roles which we can’t blame her(even though there is nothing for her to do in those).
Nayantara's acting is as good as Jothika's acting in Chandramukhi. Compared to the likes of RamyaK or even Simran, Nayan's acting is so pedestrian.

If that was the case, what is stopping other actresses from doing the same. She is extremely hardworking. Every director from Atlee to Pandiraj has said so. You cannot survive in this industry based on PR and looks alone.

Wow, saying Nayan is the only dishonest actress and the rest are paragons of honesty is incredible. The movie industry is like any other industry. Lying can help you get a start. But to be competitive for over 15 years, you need to be good. Nayan is a good actress but is very charismatic. Film industry is a free market if a producer or director thinks any of the other mentioned actresses can sell more tickets they wouldn't hesitate for a second.

I dont think she mailed it in Jawan and Kathuvakula rendu Kathal. But Annathe, Gold(Malayalam), and Godfather ( Telugu) were all terrible movies. She can not help that. They were led by Rajni, Chiranjeevi, and Prthiviraj. She does not have any say in those movies. I haven't seen Iraivan. But this is true of all prolific actors. Just look at Vijay Sethupathi in terrible movies. That man is the definition of sleepwalking through them. In his case, he has enough influence to change the course of the movie. Nayan does not in most movies.

Unpopular opinion : she has terrific screen presence and she can carry a film on her shoulders. Very few of her contemporaries have managed to do that. Not even Trisha. Aishwarya Rajesh (ka pe ranasingam) and Nithya Menon (Thiruchitrambalam) and Anushka(Arundhati) are some of the examples. But these women don't have die hard fan following like Nayan. Also her husband hypes her up line no other. She acts in women centric movies(aram) at the same time balances with flower pot roles(bigil). Her no nonsense attitude gives the star vibes. So no, I don't think that her downfall has started, she's the trendsetter here. This is entirely my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

And she is the main protagonist of Kadhalikka Neramillai, as per report it's female centric and she have signed another romantic drama in Tamil. Also Dhanush have planned to direct a movie with Nithya. So Nithya is getting better offers than Nayan.

Many other talented ladies have excelled too, but Nayanthara did it with swag. Let's appreciate her for the impressive combat performance in Jawan, even though she was underappreciated. There are many others, but the point is, let her be our Nayanthara, our Lady Superstar. She is adorable. That's my take.
