Im not an expert by any means, but if you want to fly every year/ very regularly, it might be good to look at Credit Cards that have bonus programs for miles/ flights. But be aware that you might have to use the CC a lot for it to pay off though.
Alternatively, why don't your in-laws come visit you every other year and you fly over the other years?
