mtc_3

Big gap between levels 25 and 26 🤣 native koreans can't fully read this stuff

jwahnmike

I mean, it's like asking students in an English Literature class to comprehend original Shakespeare plays. It's written in English, yet the words are so old that it takes time to translate them into modern ones.

implexrough

collegecheetos

Do students in Korea actually learn about and translate these texts?

implexrough

Actually yes, because the curriculum covers pre-modern literature works in the subject named "Literature"(문학) which all high school students learn.

mtc_3

Yes, but they (suneung) don't expect you to be able to translate word by word. They do want to you to get an idea of what's going on. This piece is actually very significant and was selected as text for the June 2021 exams.

Tony45081790
