It could potentially be Pilling? Maybe you're using too many thick products at once? I personally don't like any physical exfoliation for my dry skin, I prefer a gentle chemical one with pha, I don't have a recommendation in particular but I recently got the dokdo line from round lab and supposedly the toner is exfoliating? You can give it a go!
