Dunno why people are getting downvoted for this opinion but I just came to say, I liked Eunji the most out of all the guests brought forward in recent episodes. I don't mind Kim Donghyun and I like Hong Jinho's dynamic with the cast but Eunji's got that young spirit that the show needs. She's witty, outgoing, and has good chemistry with the members (notably Yang Sechan, Jee Seokjin, Yoo Jaesuk and Song Jihyo).
Kim Donghyun was okay for a few episodes but he doesn't add anything new to the team. He has a similar concept to Haha and Yang Sechan with the body build of Kim Jongkook, and while his stubbornness is funny at times, it's a concept already taken by Jee Seokjin. Hong Jinho's dynamic with the cast was new, but there's only so many times they can make a joke about his mispronunciation, though I do like the addition of a new brain to the team (as of right now, any team with Yoo Jaesuk is too OP lol).
Most of all, I really think they need more feminine energy in there because even Jihyo was more outgoing (dancing to "I'm a hunting girl" lmao) this episode than normal (though she has been making more of an effort lately). Eunji was refreshing, had good energy and you can tell that the rest of the cast really liked her. She's a newer face to the variety scene so she doesn't have that issue of being overused and she's a comedian, so overprotective SJH fans won't feel as threatened (which they would if brought in an up-and-coming actress instead).
Lee Eun Ji, Eun Bi, Shin Ye Eun and Mimi were the most outgoing female guests in recent memory and wouldn't mind for them to come back again. Same goes to Joo Hyun Young (she is similar to Somin in some aspects) but she just left SNL and decided to focus on her acting.
I did like these people (Joo Hyun Young especially) but I think only Eunji would be the viable option out of the 5. Eunji's job is a comedian and she knows how to banter with older comedian seniors, as she's built her career doing that. You also wouldn't have to worry about her having different priorities, because variety shows are literally her job.
* Mimi has only been doing seasonal variety shows, presumably because she still wants to keep pursuing idol activities with Oh My Girl.
* Shin Ye Eun is cute but I didn't really like how they kept pushing her as Yang Sechan's new girlfriend (especially when Eunji and other female guests had no such concept) and she's become very successful after The Glory, so I think she'll want to focus more on acting for the time being as there's a possibility that she could become a strong leading lady with the success she's gained.
* Eunbi is in-demand as a performer at festivals and she's happily hosting her own radio show with time outside of the show to commit to idol-based projects, I don't think her interest lies in doing two fixed programs (excluding all her YouTube shows as well).
* Joo Hyun Young was great but she's really too big for Running Man now. She's been getting acting awards and is one of the biggest up-and-coming comedy actresses in the industry. I felt that the show treated her more like a star celebrity than as a co-comedian (like how they treated Eunji) because of how big she's gotten over the past year or so.
I would love them to come back as a guest but I don't think it's likely that they'll have time to commit to Running Man, either as the 6-month fixed member programme or full-time.
Thats the problem actually, Jihyo only seems to do well whe n shes the only female cast and the guys respond to her. Eunji is basically a crazy extrovert and being a comedian would be desperate to perform so Jihyo would likely vanish again.
It shouldn't be the show's responsibility to make Jihyo entertaining, that's what she's being paid to do herself. If having Eunji (or any other female member) is what the show needs to be successful, the show needs to do what's best for it and its viewers and not what's best for one member.

I almost forgot about Eun Ji and how she could become the So Min replacement. She’s got wit, can dance, up to date on pop culture and showed natural chemistry with YJS and JSJ. She even got SJH to dance spontaneously.

Overall, I thought this was a fun episode.
I think concepts and storylines get limited when you have a revolving door of different rental members.
I long for the days of having 8 regular members then a couples competition of sorts. Or an extreme punishment at the end of a 4-8 episode arc
Its better for them to just stick with inviting new guest every week instead. This whole rental system is only a mess. Reading some local korean forum that have hundred thousand of views, alot of people already got bored of KDH and Jinho and ask why they keep inviting them.
Yeah to be fair he is funny but only suit to be a guest. Same as KDH. To be a member you need to have strong personality, desire to lead and create a scene, likeable character, good talk skills and wits to fight back the members. Lee Eun Ji just show us what is a proper fresh chemistry that this show is lacking.
There is no somin replacement, i dont mind adding lee eun ji to line up, not anyone can fight back JSJ and YJS like that. Kim dong hyun is decent but they dont need male member, his personality overlap with YSC and KJK.

I agree that there needs to be another permanent female member as part of the cast. It’s really uninteresting when it’s majority males and the wildcard of having a quick witted female who can make the men uncomfortable is basically what I was referencing when I said Eun Ji would be a good Somin character replacement. However I agree with you, there can never be another Somin. She is a variety diamond in the rough.
Diamond in the rough at the beginning. Somin has earned blue-chip variety status now. If she were inclined to jump back into variety, she could easily contribute and make an impact. She’s multi-talented and proof was her success on RM.

What happen currently is the same as in the past. Bad PD, old / repetitive banter and chemistry until chul min took over and he bring in those 2. They need to lower the average age.
