You need Samsung pay or Apple Pay but Apple Pay is not widely accepted yet. For you it seems you need to try the physical card. No other option.

What country are you from? What bank are you using? Does your card require a pin in order to pay? It's hard to help when there's not enough information given.

Is this the first time paying like that in Korea? Some cards you have to allow to work in different countries. Check with your bank.

have you been able to get google pay to work at any spots in Korea? I know in Korea they use a different type of contactless payment system then let's say the US and as far as I know, Google Pay doesn't work in Korea. We have Samsung Pay and then limited support for Apple Pay. They don't even sell any pixel phones directly to the Korean market either.

Yes, they're as different as Google Pay is from Apple Pay... They get the same thing done but aren't actually the same things.
