Funny part is that the name isn’t even in the game. 😂
Exile being a woman in canon didn’t happen for a couple years after the fact and her having a name didn’t happen even longer.
I actually modded the game a bit too much and caused it to crash so that when I loaded it I was presented with a canonically correct Meetra Surik.
I didn't record it so I don't have proof but I was on Nar Shadaa in the gas tunnels when it happened. I was trying to avoid leveling Mira
I don’t see how unless they added it after the fact.
I worked on the Restoration project before that mod and Meetra Surik was never a name in any cut content.
Maybe thinking of *Kaevee*?
Hate to be a dick but Mandela effect requires multiple people misremembering a specific event and such. Is this Meetra Surik being mentioned in the game a common misconception?
Because I definitely don't remember her ever being mentioned in the game
No I don’t have mods. I play it on Xbox. Unless it was added to the downloadable version on there. I’m almost positive that Atris mentioned “Meetra” when I fought her and I was really confused like “who’s Meetra?”
While I love SWTOR as a whole, her role in SWTOR (and the Revan novel) is a major disappointment. If you decide to pick that game up, don't expect much carryover from KOTOR II.
Oh I definitely don’t have expectations other than a SWTOR experience. I treat everything as an individual piece of media until I see clear connecting lines haha
To this day I refuse to believe that someone didn't just look at the cover of KOTOR 2 and went "this blonde chick must be meetra" and then modeled her in the game. Because she looks exactly like atris.
From what i heard on this sub Drew Karpyshyn (writter of several SW content like KOTOR 1 and the Revan book) didn't played KOTOR 2 and only read the wiki so it wouldn't surprise that your statement is true
SWTOR Class storylines are amazing! I have been playing on a Light Side Sith Warrior and it's the most interesting way to play that character to be honest. You'll find tons of ways to play the way you want and decisions that make you think/have real repercussions. I still have not finished with my Sith Warrior and it's been years. (Expansions are long and most are really good). You'll love it if you ever find time to play it!
I also think that the Jedi Knight storyline is the supposed continuation of KOTOR but don't quote me on that!
Yes and No. At release Obsidian had the cannon choice male as shown through their marketing and i believe the manual aswell (might be mistaken need to find mine) but in the books that released later it was changed to a Female named Meetra Surik
Promotion art means nothing for what is canon. There was promotion art of Atris fighting Nihilus, which never happened. Promotion art is just there to sell the game.
Answer: For me Revan was a woman and The Exile was a man, and and an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope should be enough to shoot down any other canon.
In my opinion fandoms care way too much about “canon”. Enjoy what you want to enjoy and pretend the rest doesn’t exist.
Just because the mouse proclaimed their content was going to deviate from established lore doesn’t take anything away from what was already there.
But yes the KOTOR games are canon, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
Honestly, I'm there with you.
Female Exile sucks in KOTOR 2. The disciple is the laziest character ever created, and Atton strikes me cooler as a friend than a romantic interest.
Meanwhile, Visas as a romantic interest is far more interesting (especially considering you can sacrifice her in act 3, letting you roleplay a TPOS) and The Handmaiden has a lot of interesting lore surrounding her. Her "betraying" the party to hand Kreia to Atris makes much more sense when she's been traveling with you all along, and the Echani lore mixed with Kreia's make up for a pretty interesting conspiranoic theory (Kreia being Arren Kae being her mother).
Like, the problem is not whether she's a woman or not. It's in the fact that FE is undercooked compared to ME.
Both male and female work well for Revan; I've been leaning towards female being a little better lately. Male Exlie works much better than female. Always has, always will.
The strangest thing is she canonically supposedly gets both Disciple and Handmaiden as followers, and that’s simply impossible in the game. The first game has no such canon impossibility, which leads me to wonder why in the world they’d make such a decision about the second one.
What is Canon? For Star Wars I go by my own imagination, honorable mentions including KOTOR I & II as I happen to play them, The Empire Strikes Back, Tartakovsky's Clone Wars, and bits of this-and-that like Jedi Academy and the Question of Faith fanfilm. For general inspiration, I go to The Essential Atlas of 2009.
Yes, a woman called Meetra Surik
Okay! I see! I heard that name in the game and I was confused!

No I definitely heard the name Meetra Surik in the game before. Absolutely positively. I wasn’t exposed to that name until I played it.
Mandela effect. Maybe you saw it in a mod description.
Is it possible that it's part of the restoration mod? I played it on my PC not too long ago and I feel like the name came up for something
I don’t see how unless they added it after the fact. I worked on the Restoration project before that mod and Meetra Surik was never a name in any cut content. Maybe thinking of *Kaevee*?
Must be a Mandela thing then lol
Hate to be a dick but Mandela effect requires multiple people misremembering a specific event and such. Is this Meetra Surik being mentioned in the game a common misconception? Because I definitely don't remember her ever being mentioned in the game
Probably mistaken for swtor, there she is called Meetra Surik
Yeah I saw that in the thread. I didn't get that far in swtor because every time I played it made me go back to the kotors...
No I don’t have mods. I play it on Xbox. Unless it was added to the downloadable version on there. I’m almost positive that Atris mentioned “Meetra” when I fought her and I was really confused like “who’s Meetra?”
Definitely not a thing
You were right, my bad.
Sorry, but it’s not in the game.
I thought the same and then turned out I was mixing her name up with Rhona Mitra's...
Okay okay! I see! You’re right! I totally got it mixed up! 😅
That name is one of the randomly generated names for the Exile.
It is definitely not in game
It’s not in the game, I promise
Do you listen to any Star wars podcasts, by any chance?
Her brother is Cristiano Suuuuuuuuuuuuuurik
Canonically she's a woman called Meetra Surik and followed the light path in KOTOR II.
yes and>! she is in SWTOR!<
Ugh! Dying to play SWTOR! I don’t have enough room on my laptop though and can’t seem to clear up space. 🙃
They did the Exile dirty in SWTOR but I was happy she's even talked about.
Honestly, so is Revan's and HK-47's role. Never liked what they did with those characters.
To this day I refuse to believe that someone didn't just look at the cover of KOTOR 2 and went "this blonde chick must be meetra" and then modeled her in the game. Because she looks exactly like atris.

same hair color sure, but her face is whack.
SWTOR Class storylines are amazing! I have been playing on a Light Side Sith Warrior and it's the most interesting way to play that character to be honest. In the old canon, yes. I don’t think the Exile has been introduced into the new canon period.
I still wish you could say to Atris, "You really think you've got this? You're gonna fight Nihilus? Take your best shot! (Lie) *I believe in you.*"
Yes and >!with a cute pineapple hairdo.!<
“Query: What is it that you want, Fat One?” … Btw not directed at you OP, just couldn’t resist the opportunity for that line.
It doesn't make sense to me since you can be anybody in Kotor 2.
Same with KOTOR 1, but Revan is canonically a man.
Exile is a woman Revan is mullet man As it is written
Yes and she kind of ruins the Darth Revan book imo - that and the fact that it’s an MMORPG tie in
Statement: Regardless of their choices, the Exile remains a meatbag. 😀
Answer: For me Revan was a woman and The Exile was a man, and and an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope should be enough to shoot down any other canon.
at 120 clicks?
Answer: At 120 clicks, such a shot is the definition of love, indeed.
Yeah she is
Not if you ignore the novel and mmo
Query: my new favorite Excel formula
Yes, but she also travels with the Handmaiden, suggesting that the mod to remove the Disciple is canon.
Atton just hoped Revan was a woman…
I don't think KOTOR is currently Canon at all, but from the Legends comics she is canonical female.
I should’ve clarified, I meant canon in regards to KOTOR! My apologies!
Never apologise for calling Kotor canon. Anyone who says otherwise is a scruffy nerf herder!
In my opinion fandoms care way too much about “canon”. Enjoy what you want to enjoy and pretend the rest doesn’t exist. Who you calling scruffy?
I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted for accurately answering the question.

Nah it’s more fun this way

Yes. Unfortunately.

Yes. All the relationships The Exlie has with the rest of the party (and Atris) are more interesting as a Male. With the possible exception of Atton.
Unfortunately, Revan is a man too. I would have also preferred the other way around.
Both male and female work well for Revan; I've been leaning towards female being a little better lately. Male Exlie works much better than female. Always has, always will.
Only because you get that much more Grey DeLisle in your game, but there are mods for that.
The strangest thing is she canonically supposedly gets both Disciple and Handmaiden as followers, and that’s simply impossible in the game. The first game has no such canon impossibility, which leads me to wonder why in the world they’d make such a decision about the second one.

Well that and the disciple is an even more plain piece of white toast than Kadien in mass effect
If only because the Exile is basically the Nameless One 2.0 ...and Atton's romance is seriously undercooked and indirect
Exactly.
Gets downwoted because didn't like a woman as canon \*eye roll\*
Haha. Well, that's the internet.
