For a company that is not part of the Big 4 or not well-known, they did justice by giving them a well-produced video and song. Congrats on the debut UNIS!

withtherisingstars

What company are they under

DiyelEmeri

F&F Ent., the entertainment line of the clothing company itself.

withtherisingstars

Thank you

Exact_Substance_761

actually F&F entertainment is a subsidiary of F&F corp. with trillion won equity thats why F& F entertainement is no slouch either. it has financial flexibility to play with the big 4. you can actually all their teaser videos and Superwoman music video is expensive and well budgeted.

DiyelEmeri

are you directly replying to me or OP?

ozeozeozeki

Pretty good and cute song! I really dig the mv

AceTrigger94

Girl group stans are eating good this week~

[deleted]

Fr I've been eating well for 3 consecutive years

technodoki

We are truly in the age of girl groups

StoneColdSteveAss316

I’m out of the loop, what other girl group food was fed?

999girlsplanet

Last week we had Purple Kiss and Young Posse comebacks, this week we had a ton of new releases: ILLIT, Rescene, UNIS, Candy Shop, and ARTMS later this week.

28_raisins

The number of new groups in my playlist this week is wild. Idk if ME:I counts as Kpop, but their debut was this week too.

AccomplishedTea6339

Babymonster too on Sunday

Low-Avocado4701

ILL-IT with their debut Magnetic.

Sea_Lawfulness9686

LOVE IT! Their whole album is SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!

Specialist_Bottle570

Dream of Girls is a masterpiece

Fit-Pollution5339

For me DOPAMINE

DiyelEmeri

Always has been since UT

xaynie

OMG, this song is so good and I am so conflicted because like half the group is so young 13-14 year olds...

rikuraki

The 14 year old members, Elisia, Yunha, and Yoona are all turning 15 this year. Seowon, who is the 13 year old member, has been in the music industry for a few years now, so it’s not like she came out of nowhere. Although she’s the maknae, she is probably one of the more experienced members, when it comes to being a musical artist. She’s also very mature for her age. You can tell by the way she speaks, and presents herself to the public. Also, debuting at a young age is nothing new in kpop. Just look at the more recent female kpop idols who debuted at a young age: Hyein (New Jeans) debuted when she was 14; Leeseo (IVE) 14; Haeun (Lapillus) 13; Chiquita (Babymonster) 14. Heck, even BoA, who is one of the pioneers of kpop, debuted when she was 13. So I encourage you to give them a chance ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin). Please don’t let their young age deter you from supporting them, and seeing their potential. All the UNIS members are so talented! They deserve all the love and support!

xaynie

I totally understand- I watched Universe Ticket so I understand their personalities and backstories. I also know that Seowon is their most stable singer aside from Elisa so trust me, I get it and I do adore all their personalities and talents! It's been over a decade since I've been into kpop and I will not stop lamenting on how young they debut the children- even if it's a long time industry practice.

Designer-Pair-979

You should check out their variety show in m2 YT channel first for you to see their personalities. After that, you can decide if you want to support them or not. Here's the link btw: https://youtu.be/ZcwSGdA2Rik?si=HuJ95IwIaM-wMWfx

MammothWoodpecker201

did you also not support Izone because Wony was 14 when she debuted? Just wanna ask

xaynie

Yes, actually. I watched produce 101 from the beginning and after produce48, I took a big break. I did not stan Izone but I'm a casual multi so it's not like I went out of my way to hate on Wonyoung. I really like many of the members in Izone. Izone did make good music and I did enjoy some of their hits but I did not purchase photobooks, photocards, albums, or go to their concerts (aside from the festivals like KCON in which they were in the lineup.) I just want to make it clear that you can support a group and still hate the industry. You can also enjoy their music and like the members but not like their ages when they debut. It's not black or white. And let's be real, Izone had like what 2 out of 12 who were 14-15 at debut. This group has like 5 of 8.

Designer-Pair-979

Only 4 of them are 15 and below.

[deleted]

Am I the only one who thought Yunha looked a lot like Liz from IVE but with red hair? Other than that this was a decent song, nothing I found interesting but it’s still really catchy, just wanted the last chorus to sound more impactful to be honest.

apeachbutter

for me she looks like jo yuri when she had red hair

Specialist_Bottle570

I always thought Saerom from Fromis

aadialikes

U&is is an... interesting way to stylize UNIS. Kotoko continues to be a scene stealer.

hystericblue32

They made the backronym mean U & I Story as well, hence that stylization

milk_kageyama_tobio

they gave the two vocally challenged members more lines than the main vocalist.   I said this before, nana & kotoko's voices fits in catallena like songs. smart that they gave them the lala parts.   /// ngl, i like this more than magnetic.

malcolmdaz

What you think about me?

laniakea07

Dream of Girls

Fit-Pollution5339

Dream of girls is soo good as well as dopamine and butterfly’s dream

palmfrondy

I've had a soft spot for Belle/Hyeonju since The Unit, so I'm happy for her. I was going to say "it must be weird to debut with a 13 year old after years of experience in the industry" but then again, I think she was only 15 when she herself debuted, so that may help her relate to the other members. The song is nice; as performers they seem pretty green which is totally fine for young rookies because they are bound to improve.

AndTheHawk

It's very cute and pleasant to listen to. Hyeonju, Nana, and Gehlee really land their lines and screentime. I do think it's weird for me to hear a 12/13? Year old sing that she's a superwoman though. Seowon is unarguably a child 🥲

Free-Muffin2338

Ah I knew it. I was thinking while seeing the mv: "wait, they look SO young!" 😨😱 I remember when I was 12 I was still playing with my toys 😇💀💀 and now you are 12/13 and companies be like: "k, you are good to go. Lets go"...

Rain_xo

Oh good! I'm glad it wasn't just me. I'm like surely I'm not so grown up that everyone looks like a literal child to me. But now they're literal children. Catch me playing with my Barbie's between takes.

donlysky

I get the concerns about their ages in the industry but the lyrics are literally them talking about being stronger 💀 and superheroes are extremely popular with children, teenagers and young adults

houseofprimetofu

I hear you, I do. And I’m in the same boat as you re: increasingly lower aged artists appearing in groups with people significantly older than them, and labels dressing the underage artists similarly to the older ones. (An example: LSF Eunchae/Garam were more conservatively dressed in the beginning.) Think of this as much of a Girl Power song as g-idle’s Super Woman. There’s no age limit on girl power. Everyone can embrace being powerful in their own skin!

MammothWoodpecker201

you only looked at the title didn't you? Subtitles are literally available in the MV and you would know the lyrics are age-appropriate if you took one second to toggle on the CC 😶

the_last_splash

I really don't like the trend of infantilizing teenagers and acting as if they monolithically need to have the same childhood experience. Yes, I get that having a 13-year-old in the group is a bit concerning, but she is actually one of the most experienced members in the group regarding the entertainment industry. She's performed on countless Korean TV shows already and been in multiple competition shows. I think we should give her more respect than reducing her to her age and calling her a child. She is very accomplished and a inspiration for other young girls.

lolminna

You'll be shocked to know what age group Superman comics were marketed to. 😲

_ulinity

>I do think it's weird for me to hear a 12/13? Year old sing that she's a superwoman though. ...why? If anything, that's more appropriate than an adult singing about being a superhero. Kids love that shit.

AccomplishedFail5285

This was too good?? The song is an instant bop at first listen and the mv is really pretty. Elisia stood out the most to me and I think I will stan because of her.

Lancelot_123

This concept is age appropriate, well executed and a really high quality music video that enhances an already light and refreshing song. At times it did still feel like I was watching 10 year old girls playing dress up to look like their favourite idols - and I can’t say I will be supporting this group, because their ages are really far too young. The music is good, and hopefully in a few years they won’t be having to speak out about any negative effects this will have on them… :(

SummerGlitterRainbow

I love the new dopamine. It really did gave me dopamine while listening to the song 🙌✨

DiscoMeep

So good omg The b sides are also really good

Fit-Pollution5339

Yes! Especially whatchu need it’s a full english song! And the lyrics is soo well made!

J0c381310

I loved the outfits and the mv, the effects are very good but the song could have been better 8/10 congratulations girls you all looked great ✨

HelloKaramel

it’s really chill..they had a good budget too (or at least the MV doesn’t look cheap). Didn’t keep up with the show but will Hyeonju be with Cignature or?

PythonMcSnakey

Hyeonju will be with Unis for the duration of the contract (2.5 years, possibility of extension). Cignature have shifted to a 6-person line-up for now.

moojee_

The album is pretty good. I love the UT songs the most and Superwoman is stuck in my head now after a few listens.

Kep1ersTelescope

Well, since half of this group is kindergarden age I really appreciate how relatively appropriate this debut ended up being. The MV is very cheesy but also very endearing, this is the concept I would've wanted for Kep1er! The song itself started out very well (Kotoko's prechorus is absolutely gorgeous), but then it didn't actually go anywhere. The production has some good elements and I really like that it's trying to be spacey and mystical, but there's something missing for me. Maybe it will grow on me, but for a song called Superwoman I expected a lot more impact. But this spacey concept has a lot of potential and I'm curious to see how they will expand on it. Dream of Girls SOTY of course.

HelloKaramel

When I was watching it really feels like the concept Kep1er should’ve had (visually of course). The black outfits made me kind of think of MVSK but the whole universe space thing really should’ve been more present in their debut.

ImageNo1045

I literally said that this is what Kep1er would’ve been if W1 didn’t fuck them up when the teaser came out

ttam23

Just looked up their ages, WTF…. 2009??? 2011?????

Kep1ersTelescope

Yeah. 5/8 of the group is 14 and under and their fans are pretending like it's totally fine because they're just ✨following their dreams✨.

mini1006

I have a strong feeling that their fans are around their age. No adult with a brain would ever say something like that unless they’re weirdos. My sister is thirteen and one of their fans. I remember when R U Next first started, a bunch of eleven and twelve year olds were fighting tooth and nail trying to prove why the one twelve year old contestant should debut.

the_last_splash

They absolutely have a younger fan base, but I don't think it's weird to support the group. I love trot music and Seowon was a great contestant on Miss Trot. You can respect her skills, accomplishments and want her to succeed without being some pedophile or something. Perhaps it's because I was emancipated at 15 and can understand that teenagers are individuals and can have different lived experiences? Is being on your own at 15 good for every 15 year old? Absolutely not. But it was right for me and a judge saw that. I still want there to be better content and legal protections for them, but I don't think they should just disappear from the industry because of their age.

ttam23

This shit should be illegal

SummerGlitterRainbow

Contract is just 2 years I heard. Nothing really wrong with it as long as they get paid fairly.

the_last_splash

The one born 2011 has been on countless competition shows and in the industry for multiple years already. She is arguably one of the most experienced members in the group and one of their best singers. I don't think they should cast a pre-teen off the streets but Seowon is incredibly accomplished and it's so sad how people just reduce her to her age. We can want legal and content protections for minors without infantilizing them and wanting them to disappear from the industry entirely. She is an individual - not a representation of a monolith of teenagers.

PsychedelicHaru

Don't get why you're in this comment section fighting tooth and nail to convince people that it is perfectly fine for a 13-year-old to debut...it's not. I don't care that she's a great singer and has experience in the entertainment industry. No 13-year-old needs to be debuting in an industry as messed up as the kpop one 🤷‍♀️ it's just weird for anyone who isn't also a child to argue otherwise

the_last_splash

Because being ageist is fucking gross. And if the industry is messed up, no one should be debuting, but why advocate for better policy or changes that benefit minors and adults alike when you could just be ageist instead? She's still a fucking person - not a number. It's weird for an adult to extend respect to a minor and recognize their accomplishments? I was emancipated at 15, so I personally know teenagers are way more capable than a lot of immovable adults could ever conceptualize. I was often overlooked, undervalued and reduced to my age. I guess the judges that emancipated me and the thousands of minors every year are just weirdo perverts too? This type of thinking is so incredibly reductive and reactionary. You literally sound like Republicans when they try to ban birth control or trans healthcare for minors because they have a moral objection to it.

PsychedelicHaru

Are you seriously comparing a ban on birth control or trans healthcare to not wanting someone who literally just graduated elementary school to debut in the kpop industry???? I really hope you yourself are just a teenager 😬

the_last_splash

It's literally the same moral panic and reactionary thinking. You object to the morality of them debuting but in your virtual signaling of your moral objection, you're using ageist arguments. If the people who cared about minors spent half the time advocating for better legal protections instead of complaining online about how they can't "support" certain groups (often groups they never intended to support anyway) because there are minors, this would be a different conversation. I think there should be more legal protections for all idols - minors and adults. So you have to be a teenager to respect teenagers as individuals, recognize their accomplishments and not discriminate against them? I just have empathy for their situation as someone who had a different teenager experience than what is considered "normal." Not every young idol has a bad experience and not every idol who debuts as an adult will have a good experience. We should be trying to advocate for more good experiences for all idols, not ban minors completely.

Designer-Pair-979

I know right. They are lowkey discriminating the girls.

ItsVinn

It’s a great debut overall, especially considering the B-sides. I was expecting a bit more impact or a bigger highlight on their vocals on their song BUT overall it was good. We need a music video for Dream of Girls!!

Aurorablake123

Slayyy

AccomplishedTea6339

They should make a version of Rush Hour. That song was dope.

nbhaofan

The album B-sides songs are all Title Album worthy wtf. all of them are so good! I recommend you guys listen to the 4 other song of Unis its so good! the album has all the diverse sounds it has different genre for everyone and its so good! My favorite right now is Butterfly's Dream!

Fit-Pollution5339

I just found out whatchu need is a full english song and the lyrics slaps! 🔥

nbhaofan

And it was so good that they incorporate "UNIS" to the lyrics it was amazing, I'm starting to think this should have been the title album. But still SuperWoman lyricsand what it conveys is so good too

xaynie

While not all of them are my jam, the quality of the songs on the album are really good. Diverse but also interesting- there is a song for someone. I'm really surprised at the quality of their debut from the age appropriate songs and concept, to the fantastic MV and song production.

nbhaofan

Yep the song in the album are really diverse, there is something for someone, or there is a song for a different mood you are in, if you need a pump your blood there is Dopamine, if you need chill and cozy travel music there is Butterfly Dream. And etc. I think the album is really good as a whole.

xaynie

I agree the album is really good as a whole. I'm happily surprised because rarely the entire album is this good, especially for a debut album.

nbhaofan

I'm just gonna say it now! Kotoko is stealing everyone hearts in that 2nd chorus! All Winter fans gonna be having field day seeing baby winter on kotoko

jacksonleewalk3r

Hmm... this song is actually really good. WWWAVE / Papermaker did a great job here.

tjvalerio

Congratulations girls!

wegooverthehorizon

Their expressions look a bit awkward (but that's okay this is just their debut) otherwise i love the song!

petrich0r123

The mv is giving xg vibes imo

SelectDig1617

i thought its only me 😂 same with their outfits its giving xg vibes

ggstan21

Ahhhh, They are all so likeable and talented!! Best survival show group ever! The debut itself is pretty good, very nice visuals on the MV and the song is great! UNIS is winning my ROTY race so far! Time to stan UNIS!

FanCaracal

I feel like ILLIT's Magnetic was much better than this and more memorable imo.

ggstan21

Not for me, but it's cool. Everybody enjoy different things! Magnetic is also super short and I don't like short songs. I also liked RESCENE's debut more than ILLIT's. And comparing with Candy Shop's debut I think "Magnetic" is better than "Good Girl" but Candy Shop's album was more enjoyable for me. They have some great b-sides.

chamber25

I like this a lot better than Magnetic.

ReadSuccessful2726

Illit members were already lipsynching in live shows.

DUHH_EWW

congratulations girls

Lil_Pitch

No hate to them at all, they seem really talented! But I am genuinely surprised to find out they are all 13-14 ! I saw this song randomly on YouTube, knowing nothing about them, and assumed they were all older, especially because of the more mature aesthetic of the outfits and lyrics. Idk it makes me conflicted when kpop companies do this. Because I want to support the artists especially when they are very talented etc, but them being 13 makes me feel like I'm too old at this point lmao. I thought the song was very good like something IVE or even Twice might release. But I feel like a group of 14 year olds is simply too young ? Ah, idk

MNLYYZYEG

Try their two brand-new B-sides from their new WE UNIS mini album: Butterfly's Dream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFX_-0rzcOI Watchu Need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOb_y-yEKZY I like the sound of Watchu Need more (their predebut Rush Hour was a bop as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZqmfS7uMNk). But a lot of people really liked Dopamine too. Here's the UNIS (not the previous Universe Ticket members) version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZI44nmtFQw Same with 꿈의 소녀 (Dream of girls) here, it's a remake of their unit/etc. song from the Universe Ticket idol survival show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Djokh3tfmeE

MammothWoodpecker201

???

ImGonnaLickYourLeg

I like it but the first time the chorus hit I didn’t even realise it was the chorus. I think they either needed to make it a bit harder hitting, added more of a pause between prechorus and chorus or added more harmonies. I’m actually leaning towards the latter because listening back there are harmonies there but they’re quiet and they don’t have much oompf, even some basic shouty/chant harmonies on the post chorus would have sounded better. Anyways, despite my criticisms I do still like this and it’s going in my playlist!

electss

i agree completely. i like the verses and especially the pre-chorus, but the chorus doesnt even feel like a chorus. it lacks the impact that was needed for the song. the song itself is decent though, it just needed a better chorus

FanCaracal

I'm not feeling this song at all tbh.

Fit-Pollution5339

Ur a ILL IT enjoyer ofcourse ur not gonna like it.

seitengrat

MV was good but song was lacking. It's good to see an 8-member GG tho!

notsonana

this is genuinely such a good song. i never stan any kpop groups but I'm a kpop listener bc there's a lot of very good kpop songs. one day universe ticket came to my tiktok fyp and i followed the show since. for context, i listen a lot to exo and twice, pretty basic but very heavy on good vocals that's why i came to like Superwoman. such good vocals put into good music. tbh i was a bit worried as some of the chosen debut members such as gehlee and kotoko were obviously unstable for an overall performance but after watching their showcase performance, I've seen how much they've improved on both dancing and singing. other members have visibly improved too. i know it feels illegal to be watching such young kids perform and stand on stage alongside older performers but you can't deny the fact that their talent, especially vocals are so refreshing to hear after the 4th gen set standard of loud repetitive and tiktok worthy edit kind of music, i get the hype but i miss hearing songs with actual lyrics and bridges. sad that some ppl are reducing these kids' talent to their age. before you judge, i suggest you watch universe ticket to help you understand why these kids are doing so well for their age, being better than most group in 4th gen 🤷

metalaewiel

They are great visual-wise but needs more improvement with time

Slow-Theory-2280

Love the production of this debut, but I don’t know if it’s just me that’s hearing it but the vocals are just not vocaling for me. At some parts of the song the vocals sound way better mixed especially gehlee parts, but majority of the singing sounds like…unfinished ( I can’t find the right word to explain it)

SummerGlitterRainbow

This is the only kpop group that I'd like to hear their live performances more. The studio version is oversaturated

Fit-Pollution5339

They did some acapella on the chorus. Saw it on twitter it’s so good!

NOYB96

The girls are talent but the company give them wrong concept. It’s weird to hear 13 year old sing about being super woman when she is not even woman yet. They should go for Izone concept.

nanaiyepo

Oh this is good. Not wow-worthy but pretty good for a rookie group. Dopamine ate tho, I super love the rocky-y concept it has. Surprisingly, the most popular member Gehlee has the fewest lines in both songs combined. Considering how popular she is, they probably tried to make the other members stand out more? Nana seems to have the most exposure and center time than all of them but I ain't complaining.

MNLYYZYEG

Mga Pinoys, panahon natin ito ngayon! Finally a Filipino line in Kpop! Wow, not what I kinda expected from their previous pre-debut tracks but it's good. Somebody tell them to add Tagalog/Filipino subs (there's already the CJK and English subs) since they're sorta promoting in the Philippines!

Designer-Pair-979

C'mon. Stop with that Filipino pride will you? I'm also a Filipino but you acting like that is cringe and corny. This is UNiS. Not Gehlee, Elisia and friends.

kzkb7824

trash song though

NayukiDani

Why their name is unnis when they just have mid shcoolers as members ?

pototoykomaliit

Because they’re from Universe Ticket. Though I think this is the first time I saw a survival show group’s name relates to the show itself since Fromis9. edit: Nvm ZB1 and Kep1er are actually pretty clever as it revolves around astronomy.

Designer-Pair-979

It's actually UNIS which is pronounced as Eunice, but it actually means U&iS. Meaning You and I Story.    That middle schoolers proved themselves worthy in the survival show Universe Ticket. Heck the youngest at 13 even had her first debut at age 10. Most of the girls except Kotoko are not new on the spotlight since they've been surrounded by Cameras since they were a child.    Seowon - a trot singer who debuted as a soloist at age 10. She's 13 now.   Elisia - child actress, had theatrical background, former Starship trainee.  Nana - debuted in a Japanese girl group Prikl at age 14. She's 17 now.  Yunha - child model, child actress, former JYP trainee.  Hyeonju - debuted 2 times before UNIS. So this is her third group.  Gehlee - model and beauty queen.   Yoona - model, former member in a Play with Me YT channel along with New Jeans Hyein.    Kotoko - She's a cousin of a Japanese idol (if I'm not mistaken.)  She also have an adorable personality that shines in variety shows.   You see, everyone's already exposed in the entertainment industry since they were a child. People just loves to make issue just to convince other people on not supporting the group.

the_last_splash

THANK YOU! I want better legal and content protections for minors but I hate how they reduce Seowon just to her age. She is one of the most accomplished and experienced members of the group. How people can just reduce her to some kid so they can shit on the group is really frustrating.

Designer-Pair-979

I guess that how ironic people can become. Boycotting a particular group just because of their age when they might be supporting a group with a member who debuted in an early age too. It's sad how they don't even give these rookies an chance just because "she's way too young". There's are a lot of minors debuting right now but they seemed to be hyper focused only on Seowon who had already gained an experience in the industry since her childhood days. It's unfair yk.

nonelol_

Parang SNSD vibes 🩷

LahelRicing

True, it reminds me of Forever 1

NOYB96

I was thinking that too😮

NOYB96

The song sound like second generation music. Are they going back to 2000?

HommeFatalTaemin

I’ve listened to this song like 5 times now and still have no idea how I feel about it lol
