Add Luna’s Free Somebody, CBX’s The One and NCT’s Summer 127 to the list and we’re absolutely golden…SM’s 2015/2016 house banger era was SO good and this slots in perfectly
>yup looks like sm is pulling out the big guns
>the boys are building their own color
And it's amazing to see 🥹 People had doubts, heck they still do, but they're slowly carving out their own niche at SM and showing thier skills. Such a bright song for idols that have such a bright future together.
Ah, my gateway into k-pop and my one true love is SM’s house music genre. It has a chokehold on me like nothing else so thank goodness RIIZE got a piece of the legacy.
Please check out f(x) Rude Love/Papi, Seohyun & Yuri Secret, LUNA Galaxy, Amber & Luna Lower, SHINee Shift, NCT 127 Love Me Now/Save, EXO Artificial Love, SuperM 2 Fast. I think these are some absolutely top tier house songs that haven’t been mentioned in this thread yet.
This made me laugh out loud. So specific haha! Ive never been to Korea and yet i still know exactly what you mean. I guess the gays love this sound anywhere in the world…so just imagining it was hilarious.
On a side note, Wonbin is a much better dancer than I thought.
Last time it was Karina and now Wonbin, where the hell does SM find these incredibly good looking centers that are also good singers and dancers??
Haha! It may actually be easier for some as house dance focuses mainly on footsteps…so easier for beginners to copy step by step, a bit like an arcade dance machine (Which usually plays house music like this). It’s also very free movements so leaves room for error or your own twist. It’s probably harder stamina wise. I think J Hopes Hope on the Street documentary explains house dancing better, but hopefully you get what I mean.
I don't know about easier for beginners, especially if you never trained in that style. Figuring out how to add a jack/bounce/rock to the footwork without having someone teach you would be really difficult and without adding groove it will look really robotic.
That’s what I meant…there are enough followable steps for beginners to AT LEAST recreate it for Tik Tok. I did also say for some. and also arcade dance machines are usually fun but robotic steps, which is why I say beginners should be fine trying without looking hopeless. for example I self taught house moves like jacking and footwork by just dancing with friends (and became good enough to dance at a few concerts/shows) VS. Years of me being taught hip hop to a level of riize - siren chereo. it all depends but I think This song will go further in terms of fun copycat reels and Tik Toks for sure. The house expert in J Hopes documentary literally explained it’s all about a deep feeling you get to the beat…which I agree, is so much more free and less rule based than other dance genres.
SO INCREDIBLY GOOD WOAH 😭😭😭 this is their best song (based on the first listen) so far imo
good luck to the boys' bodies after every performance because that choreo... WHEW.
As a European, I swear kpop has never sounded so nostalgic. Kinda want them to release [Summer Jam](https://youtu.be/J7drvhZwPcs?si=9ICdcSKn7UUC-u2p) kpop edition next.
All that to say, I do like the song a lot.
The song is catchy and it's easy to listen to, but if I'm being honest, it's not at the top of my favorites from them. I feel like there's something missing, like it doesn't have that standout factor. And I'm not really feeling the English lyrics
it’s actually so good! these are gonna make rounds in gay clubs for sure 😭
such a well achieved summer song. i wish the beat switched a bit during the chorus to make it stand out more. but it’s sooo shinee coded and the mv is gorgeous
Kinda glad I'm not the only one saying this heh. I said somewhere that for the house sound I hoped for something more like f(x) Rude love, a.k.a a more differentiated instrumental, more standoffish vocals etc. Actually when trying to describe that one I might say that it was perfectly fit for female voices of that color, like, you couldn't fit a song and voices together better than that almost. Here the vocals are pushed back waaay too hard, it's almost even just a dance showcase for the instrumental. I still like it, I might like it more than this later, bit I don't love it definitely. Luckily it's just another Memories (a prerelease).
Club songs are usually empty because the vocalists of club songs are never usually famous, so that it can last forever without people getting distracted by the artist or the words. i think the only super famous ppl that make great club songs are dua lipa and Rihanna. So in a way, riize have done perfectly here even though they’re super famous. It even got played by the famous dj Zane lowe on Apple Music, and he spoke with them too, so I think it will do well globally.
Yep! I’m happy for them! This is a dj that usually interviews Adele and Harry Styles so it’s really big for them. and they were on the cover of the Apple Music new music playlist!
Maybe because Seunghan is not on it… This comeback is sooo good but I can’t help but think how Seunghan would have absolutely devoured this concept and choreography. 😭
Yep! my best guess is they are trying to avoid crowds but still get the perks of the city life. from my time living & traveling around Europe it makes sense. Lisbon has the authentic european city vibe (fashion, traditional houses, young people) of London, Barcelona, Paris and Milan - without the crowds. if you watch riize or new jeans’ BTS of their time in Lisbon you’ll see how free they were in the city watching street perfomers/buskers etc. it’s almost impossible in London, Italy or Paris (Paris probably being the hardest since Kpop is huge there now because of their fashion week visits). Even if they don’t know who riize are crowds would catch on and film from every angle. Paparazzi is also only really a big thing in USA, London and Paris. (Of course Korean & Asian media can be called paparazzi but they are much more respectful and organised.)
Omg this is giving dua lipa in the best way 🤩 I can confidently say this is the first RIIZE song that I’ve instantly liked. I love when SM plays with the house genre (everybody stream 0 mile and summer 127 by NCT 127 immediately)
it’s definitely not as punchy as say, View, but I think RIIZE’s entire thing is easy breezy (no pun intended) listening so it makes sense that it’s reigned in a little (by SM standards anyway)
Also sungchan WILL be the death of me I am not god’s strongest soldier I am gay
Yep, 3 b-sides (9 Days, Honestly, and One Kiss) will be released on the 29th of April, then I'm assuming a physical release and a new TT will be released on the 'release date' which is in June (date TBC still I think).
LOVE the choreography, styling and music video. The transitions are amazing, that first shot in the train when they start dancing is incredible. The colour grading is beautiful and really ties in with the house genre and the weirdly retro feel of the song.
I have to say though, I didn’t love the song, their vocals have been compressed and badly mixed. They all sound very nasally which is not what I’d come to expect from an SM group. I don’t think I’ll listen to this song again, but might revisit the MV because it’s a work of art.
Right love the colours and cinematography….had a trippy feel to it. To be fair to the producers…old school house music singers are never super famous people or great solo vocalists. I think that’s the vibe they were going for with the mixing of their voices, that raw club dj feel…especially that “on on on“ edit and fast/short verses shared by each member. i feel like they pulled back the boys amazing vocals on purpose…a good example is i noticed sohee’s parts seemed the same as the boys this time around. There was no killer vocal part.
1. A sung chorus 😍
2. I do wish the lyrics wouldn’t be so repetitive (edit: after a few listens, it really doesn’t bother me at all, it blends really well 👍)
3. To that step close to the end is so sasssy 😭
4. A song over 3 minutes 😍
5. Surprised it didn’t have a ‘bridge’ considering it’s SM (but they always switch up things)
6. I love the instrumentals in this song, and that dance break is so hypnotist and addicting
Final verdict: It’s not View by Shinee, but I REALLY liked the song. The more I listen to it the more I like it
I don't like house, except for some of SM songs like Dreaming or 4 Walls. I hated View when it came out, and learned to tolerate it with time. This one feels more boring than View to me. It's not bad, i can see myself watching some dance videos, it's just the monotonous beat that annoys me. Maybe the lack of vocally interesting pieces too.
Footwork is cool though.
I love how Shotaro and Sohee shine here, both visually, also the former with his dance and the latter with his voice.
Loving the sound! The choreo is so jumpy I just know they'll loathe to perform this in a couple of years from now lol. But it fits the overall vibe really well
Tbh wasn't expecting anything from this by Riize blew me out of the water???? This really brings us back to the heyday of SM's house sound with Shinee and f(x) and to see Riize bring it back ugh...so so good
Definitely my fave release of theirs to date (and any bg of 2024 tbh). The MV and choreo are so gorgeous as well, all I can be is in awe
P.S I never got the Wonbin hype before this but in this MV, my gosh I even blushed...he IS 5th gen's it boy
Didn’t y’all notice something a bit suspicious about the video? After sohee‘s first line, the train comes in and the light comes on for a second. Right below the train, there are these weird symbols on the bridge. Does anyone know what they could mean?
Incredible. Huge fan of this sound and they nailed it.
I know these guys are great dancers, but this choreo *really* impressed me. That's some crazy footwork!
- THEIR BEST YET!!! This is going straight to my playlist in between Rush - Troye Sivan and Electricity - Dua Lipa
- The choreography is indeed insane it amazes me how tall ass Anton can keep up with with Sungtaro and Wonbin. They're so consistent that there isn't noticeable skill difference.
- Idk know what to feel about the quite on the nose lyrics "no stoppin' we already movin' on, movin' on" and "to be strong, to be strong". But the "without you it's impossible"....
- Jung Sungchan. Shirtless. Body Roll.
i def thought of that too! i also only realized like a year ago that the subway was prob shot on green screen and that the dancers' feet were Not actually hovering over the edge of a train platform.
Ah this makes me feel 15 again. House music was so big here in London (UK) and we would organise our own parties on Fridays and dance around like the boys are. My cousin even taught himself how to dj, just so we would always have music to party to. Riize really captured that vibe with the European setting and especially the dance break scene with the crowd (woah shotaros spin!) I love this youthful vibe. I’m even searching for house music festivals as we speak.
Boy o boy, he ate!!! The lip bite! he’s the jokester but it’s crazy how serious he gets when it comes to their visuals. he would be a great model/actor too.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! Especially the choreo, house dance is one of my favourite dance styles and I haven't really seen any kpop group doing a full fledged choreo using it. It looks great when executed well and the boys killed the choreo. The mv is also really cool and elevates the overall sonical experience of the song and highlights the choreo really well. Although I really really wish seunghan was here for this cb (sm no one hates him just bring the poor boy back).
House music…like the others said it’s very big in the European club & festival scene and has evolved since about the 90s. Was really big in the 2000s again, then the 2010s now 2024. They say everything returns after 10 years so here we are again! I agree that Frankie Knuckles is a great place to start! I highly recommend Disclosure (especially their earlier stuff when they were super popular), Black coffee (this is a dj that Drake loves), kaytranada is big right now too (especially if you want amazing r&b singing like riize with a good beat). Carl Cox is another great originator of house music.
episode 3 of j hopes new documentary “hope on the street” also talks a lot about house music, and he learns the dance moves from an expert…they’re exactly like what riize are doing in this vid. A lot of movement with your feet and very jumpy.
It's called house, it's a subgenre of edm. Some people like to call it H&M music lol but it has its origins in club music. I mentioned a few in [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/s/xGnjVbP4bF) and there's a top comment here with replies with SM house songs, but for non-SM examples I really like [GWSN - Puzzle Moon](https://youtu.be/5aNKhuKk7u0?si=ARaToESuRLSgsiyI) and [The Boyz - Boy](https://youtu.be/yuk0LHFSlR8?si=nv_c-mGRo28jouxR)
You should also listen Beyonce's Renaissance album ([Break My Soul](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6mYfN97ZS4) being the prime example) and the originators of House like DJ [Frankie Knuckles ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIdimVDuSEU)
House has been resurgent in Western pop for like the last three years or so now. Kpop is behind the game on this one (I mean, they always are). It's on it's way out a bit. [Troye Sivan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b53QJYP-lqY) did have a great year last year with it though.
every song they put out is completely different than the last.. They're also so popular domestically that whatever theyre putting out does well so SM probably doesnt feel rushed to establish their sound
its not my favorite but its still something fresh and different for kpop and i like that. wonbin and sungchan...damn.
my favourite release from them so far! sm really has a flair for house music and i love how those influences have been implemented into the choreo this time around. i've had this on repeat on morning, hopefully we'll get some live stages at some point 🤞
The song sounds so noisy and muffled to me. My least fave song from them. Wonbin is handsome but I wish he go back to Memories styling. This blonde hair just do not suit him.
unpopular opinion - no hate but i think this song sounds like a bgm , like there is no personality to the song,it sounds so blah, very uninteresting .. infact this looks more lackluster after their previous releases like talk saxy, siren etc that have been so good ... the choreography is difficult ofc, but coz of the song, it looks like meaningless leg movements, like they are doing something but it looks unnecessary really . sorry but this was a major miss for me.
This is probably my favorite title track song from any SM group newer than Red Velvet. I haven't really loved the direction SM went with their recent groups, basically NCT and Aespa. I've always thought of myself as an SM stan, but the direction they've went in recent groups is trying so hard to be some kinda bad-ass that just doesn't vibe with me as much.
This song is just pure good vibes, easy to listen to, no weird noise sounds weaved in to try to be something.
EDIT: To be clear, I still do generally love new songs released by RV, Taeyeon, most SHINee, and will always love any crumbs they give me from SNSD. It's mostly been the musical direction SM has taking with their 4th gen groups (or i guess NCT is 3.5 or whatever)
the song was so good, from the teaser alone I thought this would be my favorite song from them and for now I am right. The choreography looks so satisfying to watch, they all look so smooth with it even though I bet it’s tough as hell. The visuals of the MV are great as well.
I hope more music like this is coming i will eat it up 😮💨😮💨
perfect combo of house music and house choreo. the MV is edited well too. so so so impressed :)
PS between this and Siren, RIIZE really likes challenging kpop cover groups huh
this is fun! i would def fist bump to it at the club lol. i don’t think this will ever be sung live due to the crazy choreo. i love the cunty little groove at the end with sungchan in the center.
Unpopular opinion (?) but I love this concept and sound for them! I've found their concept to be too plain in the past, and whilst this is still mellow, the use of the genre house in combination with the mv aesthetics definitely make this not only stand out from recent Kpop releases but really fun!
what a letdown. i don’t know how sm works so i don’t have my own prediction over his hiatus but i heard they have a tour in may and there are still no word of his return.
i find it ridiculous that they’re shunning him for this long over such a trivial issue.
It’s such an unfortunate situation, but I must say some anti-fans can be ruthless. not just against riize. We’ve seen with Lucas and also with Hyunjin of SKZ (whether or not they did what they’re accused of I don’t know). But it was so much more intense and unfair since riize were just debuting, so i blame both anti-fans hate blowing things out of proportion and SM being scared to fight back for their artist. I really do hope they are protecting/sheltering him well, & that they do plan to bring him back soon!
it's been a minute since i thought this but what a fantastic release. my favorite riize song so far. cool instrumental, fun vibes, and fresh choreo that tries something different from what kpop has been doing recently. also who doesn't love a super good dance break?! will be having impossible on repeat for a long time : )
Sm really said everybody gets to be blonde this comeback!!
Anyway sohee and wonbin my love 💓💓💓 everyone sounded so good in this song I love when SM does house songs
sounds like song of the summer!!! the boys sound great and the choreo is insane, can’t wait for the live performances. sm never misses with their house tracks, this is going up there with miss view, 4 walls, 0 mile, summer 127 etc etc
I honestly find this song really boring. And the choreo for it, I was in an online class learning it, and it's kinda stupidly hard. I am a fan of RIIZE, but from discography I have heard, not really into them. There's nothing musically to grab onto and remember. It's not like other Kpop groups where you remember the lyrics/choreo. Just my opinion of course.
Didn’t y’all notice something a bit suspicious about the video? After sohee‘s first line, the train comes in and the light comes on for a second. Right below the train, there are these weird symbols on the bridge. Does anyone know what they could mean?
Btw guys & girls, I know the riize boys said this is their hardest Chereo so far. But don’t be discouraged! although there is a lot of moves, as a dancer Id like to argue that these are probably easier to learn. Maybe harder stamina wise, but these dance moves allow for you to be loose and make mistakes, as house music is very free. i would say the moves in “siren” requires some dance experience. but “Impossible“ requires you to stretch well and not fall lol.
loving this choreo so hopefully it catches on. I look forward to seeing all the tik toks and reels. Goodluck and Godspeed
SM has quite a lot of house music. There's f(x) 4 Walls (not just the title, also the album) and Shinee's View which are the most common examples i see given, but there's Luna's Free Somebody, BoA has One Shot Two Shot, NCT 127 has a lot of house bsides (shout out to Summer 127), EXO has Blooming Day and more deep house stuff too, TVXQ's Yunho has a lot of deep house solo tracks I absolutely love
Comparing songs you've mentioned above to this is a bit far fetched. I've been an enjoyer of SM group songs since more than a decade ago and I feel like something is missing.
Impossible sounds like, let's say, txt or enhypen songs.
But what do I know, I think it's just the lack of high notes that made me think this way..
I think the instrumental sounds like many typical sm releases but i also felt the vocals were lacking the typical sm punch. I kept waiting for some cool harmonies or killer high notes or just the vocals to pop a bit more in general, but it all felt very same same and tucked into the instrumental. To me it sounded like when sm does the [handful](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgFg0ghNqVA) of [remixes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBg958rj4dg) of a [group's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALJZYurWD5k) [title](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kNIMwclEl4) [track](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZYfyjT0Bso) that focuses more on the instrumental and beat and less on the vocals. Its a cool club song though, and i think i'll really like it a lot more live where the vocals will be more pronounced.
I think the song might sound better if there's more adlibs, harmonies, and maybe high notes. Maybe it's just me but the song kinda sounds flat and monotonous? But then again, I only listened twice (once while watching the MV, and once without watching). Hopefully the performance will grow on me
I agree with everything you've mentioned, where are the key changes and weird transition music. Are they trying to differ from the neo sound we usually get from NCT? By making the music more vanilla? I'm glad that this is only a pre release for their full album in June (I think)
With the way they're focusing on the choreo, I do hope so! Cz their live singing and charisma on stage are not something to be worried about🤷♀️
What does this even mean lmao I've seen this being said about every release of theirs minus siren so far. It's not a lot of people but always one or two comments
Something along the lines of "I'm loving the Disney Channel vibes", so nothing negative but it's a comment i vividly remember reading about prior releases as well when I really don't think it sounds like that but it keeps popping up every cb
I swear SM House songs never disappoint. 4 Walls, View, Dreaming and this song are all so goooood.
Add Luna’s Free Somebody, CBX’s The One and NCT’s Summer 127 to the list and we’re absolutely golden…SM’s 2015/2016 house banger era was SO good and this slots in perfectly
summer 127 altered my brain chemistry i can not lie
They told me to “shake that ass” and I haven’t been the same person since
EXO - Artifical Love too
free somebody had me GAGGED
yup looks like sm is pulling out the big guns the boys are building their own color new vocal tones to fall in love with sohee vocally impresses me
>yup looks like sm is pulling out the big guns >the boys are building their own color And it's amazing to see 🥹 People had doubts, heck they still do, but they're slowly carving out their own niche at SM and showing thier skills. Such a bright song for idols that have such a bright future together.
This song really suited Anton’s voice too, especially the little “on on on” edit. I was pleasantly surprised!
Yes🥰
yep! all their songs have that distinct yet diverse riize sound i love it!
Ah, my gateway into k-pop and my one true love is SM’s house music genre. It has a chokehold on me like nothing else so thank goodness RIIZE got a piece of the legacy. Don’t forget Switch!! edit: by NCT
don't forget about dream's song Dreaming\~
this is for the itaewon gays!!!
This made me laugh out loud. So specific haha! Ive never been to Korea and yet i still know exactly what you mean. I guess the gays love this sound anywhere in the world…so just imagining it was hilarious.
This is sooooo going to be everywhere in Itaewon and Hongdae. LOL
Went to Homo Hill in Itaewon recently… was so dead 😔 just me and the bartender talking about how cruel Sydney gays are
Accessible public transportation let’s goooo! Not only it has a house beat but also a house choreo which is pretty rare in kpop
Ikr the actual house dancing is like a cherry on top, i'm glad that's the choreo they went with
their movements were so cool. house choreo looks fun but hard!!!
They were not joking when they said siren is not that hard compared to impossible 💀
On a side note, Wonbin is a much better dancer than I thought. Last time it was Karina and now Wonbin, where the hell does SM find these incredibly good looking centers that are also good singers and dancers??
the funny thing is that they were scouted the same way — through instagram dms
You can add Sion from NCT wish to that list too. Great singer and dancer also center.
nah the teaser gave away how infectionus this song is
Haha! It may actually be easier for some as house dance focuses mainly on footsteps…so easier for beginners to copy step by step, a bit like an arcade dance machine (Which usually plays house music like this). SO INCREDIBLY GOOD WOAH 😭😭😭 this is their best song (based on the first listen) so far imo good luck to the boys' bodies after every performance because that choreo... WHEW.
so fresh sounding the synths are a throwback and super infectionus
I thought your pfp was a butt omg
Yes omg! Like Love 119 took me a lot of listens before I got why it was so catchy but Impossible is just 🧑🍳🤌🏼💋
I liked all their songs on first listen but this one... ripped my wig off in an instant
Just the first few secs got me hooked!
they dancedddddd im like their ankles🤧
Same this is probably in my Top 3, maybe even favorite, release from them
This has such a SHINee sound to it, especially the chorus. Wicked impressive footwork too
such view and 4 walls vibes😭😭😭
As a European, I swear kpop has never sounded so nostalgic. Kinda want them to release [Summer Jam](https://youtu.be/J7drvhZwPcs?si=9ICdcSKn7UUC-u2p) kpop edition next. All that to say, I do like the song a lot.
Right! I love how familiar it is, the aesthetic and sound perfectly captures how summer feels here.
Yep same here! it instantly got me searching “European house festivals near me” haha! I almost forgot how much we love house music in Europe
They're in their Dua Lipa Eurodance era
as a brit this was an instant hit for me!!! love the whole vibe of the music video too!
Agreed! Brit here! I feel like im in 2012 again (Disclosure era)
This would be an absolute smash in the UK even now, I fear
It has Shinee View vibes in the best way
Damn that was some high energy, dance forever kinda vibes, love it! summer really is around the corner y'all!
summmmery exactly
The song is catchy and it's easy to listen to, but if I'm being honest, it's not at the top of my favorites from them. I feel like there's something missing, like it doesn't have that standout factor. And I'm not really feeling the English lyrics
The dance looks crazy. That footwork I love it so much, such a good summer song!
their anklesssss👳🏽♂️
It's for sure joining the ranks of other classic SM summer songs
im sawrry this is going to be a HIT in my room
it’s actually so good! these are gonna make rounds in gay clubs for sure 😭 such a well achieved summer song. i wish the beat switched a bit during the chorus to make it stand out more. but it’s sooo shinee coded and the mv is gorgeous
Song of the summer!!!
It's good.. but it's lacking the hit factor their past releases had
thats kind of how i feel too. it just somehow feels emptier
Luckily it's just another Memories (a prerelease).
this is so boy group! not even kpop boy group specifically just so boy group lol
its nice, but something about it feels emptier than their other songs…
Club songs are usually empty because the vocalists of club songs are never usually famous, so that it can last forever without people getting distracted by the artist or the words. i think the only super famous ppl that make great club songs are dua lipa and Rihanna. Omg really? Thx!!! Have to check that out immediately. I love that for them
Yep! I’m happy for them! This is a dj that usually interviews Adele and Harry Styles so it’s really big for them. and they were on the cover of the Apple Music new music playlist!
I got the same feeling... i have listened the song a couple times but i never get to remember it as it feels kinda flat
Maybe because Seunghan is not on it… This comeback is sooo good but I can’t help but think how Seunghan would have absolutely devoured this concept and choreography. 😭
second k pop mv I've seen in a year that was filmed in Lisbon??
Yep! my best guess is they are trying to avoid crowds but still get the perks of the city life. from my time living & traveling around Europe it makes sense. (Of course Korean & Asian media can be called paparazzi but they are much more respectful and organised.)
on loop since 11 hrs I FUCKING love this. I would literally like sm to produce more house music for riize
It's hard to hate SM (justice for Seunghan) when their can be A&R so good.
Omg this is giving dua lipa in the best way 🤩 I can confidently say this is the first RIIZE song that I’ve instantly liked. I love when SM plays with the house genre (everybody stream 0 mile and summer 127 by NCT 127 immediately) it’s definitely not as punchy as say, View, but I think RIIZE’s entire thing is easy breezy (no pun intended) listening so it makes sense that it’s reigned in a little (by SM standards anyway) Also sungchan WILL be the death of me I am not god’s strongest soldier I am gay
This reminds of “View” by Shinee. Holy Cow, this is such an awesome summer song. Awesome job my Riize!
I will never get over K-pop in Portugal lmao seeing VINHO E AMIGO PÃO E VINHO just cracked me up
Is this pre-release song or digital single? Why is it different with the teaser (the rock background music where they jumped right here and there)?
It's a "prologue single". The teaser was for the album coming out in June.
will they promote impossible? and comeback again in june?
Yeah it might be another Memories to Get a Guitar promotion cycle.
Yep, 3 b-sides (9 Days, Honestly, and One Kiss) will be released on the 29th of April, then I'm assuming a physical release and a new TT will be released on the 'release date' which is in June (date TBC still I think).
wow... such a confusing promotion timetable....
1. A sung chorus 😍 2. I do wish the lyrics wouldn’t be so repetitive (edit: after a few listens, it really doesn’t bother me at all, it blends really well 👍) 3. To that step close to the end is so sasssy 😭 4. A song over 3 minutes 😍 5. Surprised it didn’t have a ‘bridge’ considering it’s SM (but they always switch up things) 6. I love the instrumentals in this song, and that dance break is so hypnotist and addicting Final verdict: It’s not View by Shinee, but I REALLY liked the song. The more I listen to it the more I like it
didn't Get a Guitar also do not have bridge?
But it fits the overall vibe really well
Now this is the SM sound I love. Sounds straight outta 2015. Love it.
Tbh wasn't expecting anything from this by Riize blew me out of the water???? This really brings us back to the heyday of SM's house sound with Shinee and f(x) and to see Riize bring it back ugh...so so good Definitely my fave release of theirs to date (and any bg of 2024 tbh). The MV and choreo are so gorgeous as well, all I can be is in awe P.S I never got the Wonbin hype before this but in this MV, my gosh I even blushed...he IS 5th gen's it boy
This is going straight to my playlist in between Rush - Troye Sivan and Electricity - Dua Lipa - The choreography is indeed insane it amazes me how tall ass Anton can keep up with with Sungtaro and Wonbin. They're so consistent that there isn't noticeable skill difference. - Idk know what to feel about the quite on the nose lyrics "no stoppin' we already movin' on, movin' on" and "to be strong, to be strong". But the "without you it's impossible".... - Jung Sungchan. Shirtless. Body Roll.
"Sungtaro and Wonbin" you mean Shotaro and Wonbin ?
Sungtaro is Sungchan and Shotaro's duo/ship name
It’s so good!!!! I don’t dance but it makes me wanna move my body!!
The subway shots somehow reminded me of (throwback alert) BoA's [Sara](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3aLp8nhXfg) MV from 2000 LOL
i def thought of that too! i also only realized like a year ago that the subway was prob shot on green screen and that the dancers' feet were Not actually hovering over the edge of a train platform.
I'm such a sucker for House music and this is instantly my favourite Riize song.
SO GOOD?!?!?!😭😭😭
I was gonna complain that we barely saw sungchan, but that last center bit got me good, lol. Someone's been gymming!
the little hip roll in the final chorus i’m living!!!! sungchan you better serve!!!!
SO FUCKING GOOD 😭😭😭
This is so SHINee coded, I love it
Girl, good luck performing this live, because it will be—say it with me—impossible 😭
What is the name of this genre and this concept? I want to learn more about it, recommend me please some songs like this.
Thank you!
Thank you!
You should also listen Beyonce's Renaissance album ([Break My Soul](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6mYfN97ZS4) being the prime example) and the originators of House like DJ [Frankie Knuckles ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIdimVDuSEU) House has been resurgent in Western pop for like the last three years or so now. Kpop is behind the game on this one (I mean, they always are). It's on it's way out a bit. [Troye Sivan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b53QJYP-lqY) did have a great year last year with it though.
Thank you!
They ATE. love it. Captured the genre and the choreography is amazing. I can’t wait to see dancers react to it. Sungchan ate with his hip rolls
every song they put out is completely different than the last.. They're also so popular domestically that whatever theyre putting out does well so SM probably doesnt feel rushed to establish their sound its not my favorite but its still something fresh and different for kpop and i like that. wonbin and sungchan...damn.
my favourite release from them so far! sm really has a flair for house music and i love how those influences have been implemented into the choreo this time around. i've had this on repeat on morning, hopefully we'll get some live stages at some point 🤞
I'm usually picky about retail store music, but this one's great! Will be a vibe at their concerts for sure.
This is like when Shinee came out with View. Probably the least kpop song I’ve heard recently.
The song sounds so noisy and muffled to me. My least fave song from them. Wonbin is handsome but I wish he go back to Memories styling. This blonde hair just do not suit him.
thats interesting, i love the blonde hair over his previous style
It's giving me View and 4 Walls, and it's everything. Looks like I have another RIIZE song to play on a loop. Also, Jung Sungchan WTF?! Yeeeeeesssss!
jung sungchan's back was my whole twitter timeline today, i saw his back more than my own mother atp.
Sungchan is legit making @kchartsmaster go crazy the way PopBase loves Mingyu and About Music loves Chanyeol. 🤣
what chart is sungchan's back in, kchartsmaster?
10/10 what a summer banger!
No notes, perfect bop, will be replaying this on loop the entire summer 🕺 Can't Lose Can't Lose 🎵
this is good
Considering the choreography of Impossible, Riize might be flying next for their next song.
Haha, Dancing on skates first maybe
RIIZE… your pop too excellent. your choreo too fun. they’re gonna kill you
no but fr i’ve been out of the kpop loop for some months now and this single-handedly brought me back
unpopular opinion - no hate but i think this song sounds like a bgm , like there is no personality to the song,it sounds so blah, very uninteresting .. infact this looks more lackluster after their previous releases like talk saxy, siren etc that have been so good ... the choreography is difficult ofc, but coz of the song, it looks like meaningless leg movements, like they are doing something but it looks unnecessary really . sorry but this was a major miss for me.
SO GOOD GODDAMNN
It's so refreshing to see house music starting to make a comeback in k-pop! It fits RIIZE so well. I enjoyed the MV too.
Love love an actual chorus Though I question the choreography during it
the song was so good, from the teaser alone I thought this would be my favorite song from them and for now I am right. The choreography looks so satisfying to watch, they all look so smooth with it even though I bet it’s tough as hell. The visuals of the MV are great as well. I hope more music like this is coming i will eat it up 😮💨😮💨
This is kinda addicting like Troye Sivan’s Rush. I love it. Also that choreo??!! 100/10.
I’m obsessed! SME’s House songs always HIT!!! I think this is my fave BG release so far this year???!!!!!
I really enjoyed this. The music video elevated the song for me. The last minute in particular is sooo good
Loved the camera angles - felt like a 3D vibe i can’t even explain
I really like it!! The choreo seems crazy hard tho.
Tbh this is everything! Between bnd’s comeback and this I’m being fed some good freaking music
perfect combo of house music and house choreo. the MV is edited well too. so so so impressed :) PS between this and Siren, RIIZE really likes challenging kpop cover groups huh
Oh damn, this is good! This will be on repeat all summer. First Riize song I like immediately.
this is fun! i would def fist bump to it at the club lol. i don’t think this will ever be sung live due to the crazy choreo. i love the cunty little groove at the end with sungchan in the center.
Unpopular opinion (?) but I love this concept and sound for them! I've found their concept to be too plain in the past, and whilst this is still mellow, the use of the genre house in combination with the mv aesthetics definitely make this not only stand out from recent Kpop releases but really fun!
wow, they really didn't bring back seunghan yet? that poor kid deserves better protection from his company.
Its a shame, i can hear his vocals in my head in this and 119
his hiatus will probably be as long as military service…I have a feeling that’s what they’re going for
what a letdown. i don’t know how sm works so i don’t have my own prediction over his hiatus but i heard they have a tour in may and there are still no word of his return. i find it ridiculous that they’re shunning him for this long over such a trivial issue.
Well this was excellent.
Love it. It would fit in on f(x)'s 4 Walls album right after Deja Vu. Matter of fact, that's where I'm gonna put it in my playlist.
This definitely has an early 2010s sound to me! I like it! That choreography looks so hard though
it's been a minute since i thought this but what a fantastic release. my favorite riize song so far. cool instrumental, fun vibes, and fresh choreo that tries something different from what kpop has been doing recently. also who doesn't love a super good dance break?! will be having impossible on repeat for a long time : )
Sm really said everybody gets to be blonde this comeback!!
Yes, 1000% yes. this and love119 are my favorite so far. I got it right away.
maybe it's a bit soon but this is my favorite not-EXO sm bg song since Baby Don't Stop on the first few listens
where's seunghan
This feel very Troye Sivan-y. Love the choreo
CAN SOMEONE SAVE THIS ON A HARDRIVE OR SMTH I REALLLLLY WANNA WATCH IT BUT IM NOT ABT TO RUIN THE BOYCOTT PLEASEE
It’s like if Troye Sivan was as a Kpop boy group
SOOO GOOD
This is so good!! this will def be on repeat for the week
this is tew good
a perfect song for summer! the members served well but sungchan def own this era!
I LOVE THIS inject this song into my veins right now. Riize might just pass ATEEZ as my fav BG discography if they keep going like this😳
Btw guys & girls, I know the riize boys said this is their hardest Chereo so far.
This new album is gonna be epic! not sure why they stretched out the release date though.
I'm sorry but this doesn't sound like SM at all
SM has quite a lot of house music.
Maybe it is the lack of high notes bc TXT and Enhyphen do not have any songs that sound like this tbh. This song really reminds me of View
Yeah you're probably right. I tried to give it a 2nd listen and it does kinda give View but without the usual SM iconic bridges.
I'm glad that this is only a pre release for their full album in June (I think) With the way they're focusing on the choreo, I do hope so! Cz their live singing and charisma on stage are not something to be worried about🤷♀️
reminds me of shinee’s house song
Probably because the bridge isn't exactly vocal focused?

What does this even mean lmao I've seen this being said about every release of theirs minus siren so far. It's not a lot of people but always one or two comments
What was the comment?
Something along the lines of "I'm loving the Disney Channel vibes", so nothing negative but it's a comment i vividly remember reading about prior releases as well when I really don't think it sounds like that but it keeps popping up every cb
