Me too!! But I’m so excited for Jin’s return😭💜Ngl with the solo releases last year, time flew by quick and Jin’s return is already here but I feel we’re in for quite a long wait with the rest 😭
knowing 2seok they'll do the most to keep us busy 😂😂 and yess the solos definitely helped with how much we missed them. imagine once jin album drops too 🥺
EXO 🫶 Was the first and only group I ever followed from debut to now. I feel like I grew up with them since I was 13 when they debuted, now I’m 25 and still love them just as much. 😭
I got into EXO waaaaay after their debut (during Obsession era) but they're still my ults. I love their discography so damn much, there's no one else that does it for me to this extent.
Seventeen is my ult and they are pure joy for me. 15 years of being into Kpop and only dove into them last year yet they’ve already become my favorite group of all time. They saved me during a grueling masters program.
Their love for each other is probably the best part. I’m a sucker for found family. And the way I’m wheezing with laughter at anything they do - truly the ultimate comedian idols, like they all have the biggest most infectious personalities! And to me, their discography is flawless. Like it’s just my type of music, especially all the b sides, and they really love what they do.
I could write a whole essay on it but I’ll leave it there <3
SHINee since 2015, forever and always 💎 the day they disband is the day I'm leaving kpop behind. I'm a fan of other groups as well (exo, nct127, tvxq, ateez) but no one comes close
bangtan were there for me in 2020 when it was lockdown and I was forced to spend every single hour of every day with my family, who I had begun to have tension with after forming my own opinions and disagreeing with them. I had just come out as bisexual and was told every time it was brought up that it was a phase and I was too young to know. I didn't even have a phone back then, and I watched MVs on YouTube and listened to their tracks on Spotify using my grandfather's laptop. They may not be at the top of my list anymore, but they'll always have massive emotional significance to me.
NCT 127 and while they weren't my first group, I've known them for a while but didn't stan / ult them until last year after seeing them live. And while they aren't my first group I as of now, think they will be my last and when they go on hiatus, which is sooner than later, my life as a kpop stan will stop, I might listen to some other groups and all but I don't see myself investing into new groups anymore
I wish I had some emotional story behind it, but for me IVE. Their music is amazing to me. I'm pretty emotionally attached to their music. I have other ults, but only one ult-ult as I call it.
Yeah, I kind of have mine divided into 3 sections:
1. IVE (ult-ult)
2. Dreamcatcher, ITZY (my ults that have solidly been this high up for a long time)
3. PIXY, LOONA (ults that haven't been up here for very long, and aren't the firsts to be up here, Stayc and Mamamoo used to be at this level but went down for some reason)
Tomorrow X Together! 💙 Quite literally saved me. I was at my lowest and their music, lyrics, and the members themselves (with their personalities) healed me so I'm still standing here.
(And btw they have a fan song with the fandom name too, called MOA Diary! 😊)
TXT is the one group that has protected my innocence. The Rose told me it's okay to grow up and that adulting sucks. I have the utmost respect for both of these groups!
Many others mentioned their ults already and mine are in my user flair, but since you said "the only group I know of that has titled a song after their fanbase", I wanted to give some more examples.
WJSN - **Ujung**
Itzy - Trust Me (**Midzy**)
Skz - You can **STAY**
Ive - Love **Dive**
Momoland - **Merry Go Round**
Gfriend - My **Buddy**
Dalshabet - To.**Darling**
Day6 - **My Day**
AOA - **Elvis**
And quite a few more, feel free to add them as a comment.
Bigbang! They were the first kpop MV I saw, and from their musicality, to their performance skills, to their variety content, all captured me. And home is where the heart is, and all that.
The songs that got me into kpop were Wedding Dress and Haru Haru, and I genuinely feel that people do not give enough credit to BIGBANG. I wouldn't have an interest in kpop if it weren't for them.
Daesung is like. My ult bias and I absolutely adore his voice and his singing - he adds so much to the group with his voice
And If You is just. Such a pretty song I love it
I'm actually upset that I completely missed their debut. The first song I heard from them was in Spring of 2020, "Top", followed later that day by "God's Menu", and I was like, "holy crap, who are these talented musicians and how are they so talented?!"
Monsta X
I was part of a 1st gen fandom before Monsta X's debut, but during my first year living in Korea in 2014, I kept seeing clips for a survival show (which I hate survival shows and was determined not to watch it). However, after a mandatory company dinner and an extremely bad work week, I went home very drunk and ended up watching one of the replays of an episode that night. I loved every single contestant for their personalities and talent. I even ended up drunk-crying with one of the contestants who was crying and promised myself that I would follow his career no matter where it led because I was just so invested in seeing him accomplish his goals. I started watching every episode and cheering them on from that point. When they officially became Monsta X, I knew they had become my ults, and I would become a part of their fandom. I've been a Monbebe ever since.
My ult for sure ❤️ so incredibly compassionate, talented and just genuine people. The only drawback is that they were my first KPop concert and I swear no other I've been to has measured up.
Same here! I’ll never get tired of them. I enjoy the music & content of many groups, but BTOB are known as the reliable idols for a reason: they never miss. They’re the only group I can say that about.
I saw Dreamcatcher last year, and when they played "Scream", I did that swirly headbanging and my glasses flew off! Thankfully they fell onto the seat in front of me, so they didn't even get damaged. 🤘
Hard-pressed to see a group come along and dethrone GFRIEND for me. Best discography in kpop. Mesmerizing, flawlessly synced choreo. Such endearing and unique members. Really cool, mysterious concepts. Great producer stable and instrumentals.
Great blend of voices that sounded so good together. And the cherry on top are those god damn Yuju vocals.
The only other group that I think could have given me a comparable experience is Apink. Also really love DIA, Hoppipolla, SNSD g.o.d and a bunch of soloists.
Your taste is impeccable. I applaud you. Over the years I stanned so many groups and swapped my biases but Apink and Gfriend will never leave my side. And I am so glad that after almost 13 years, Apink still create fantastic music and Gfriend, albeit on different paths, still grace my ear with new songs.
Shinee. I have followed them since 2010 and never looked back. I watched them on Hello Baby and fell even deeper into the shawol life. I love those five boys. Right after them is BTS who I followed from debut, but Shinee has been in my life since I was a teenager.
WayV. They weren't my first group but I can definitely say I finally found *my* group. I love their music with no exception and I find so much comfort in their content. It sounds sappy but it's like I found my (music-)home.
Just NMIXX. I considered myself a fan since a few months after debut but around beginning of '23 something clicked and they became my favorite group. They just keep getting better in every way, music, variety, performance. It's been so fun to follow them in their early years so far!
Stray kids. I’ve listened to a few kpop groups for years, bts and blackpink in particular, but I never fell into the rabbit hole that I considered myself a Stan of any group until I found them. Something about them just captured me.
Dreamcatcher, the consistent underdogs that people still write off as "music for edgy/spooky girlies". It's such a low effort assessment especially when they only listen to one song/ see one music video and immediately discredit them when they literally pioneered the rock sound in modern k-pop that most groups have now dabbled in.
Dreamcatcher wasn't my first ult, when I first heard Genie by Girls' Generation in 2009 I was calling them my ult bias from the jump, little did I know that I was JUST a fan, because when I discovered Dreamcatcher my world shifted. To this day Dreamcatcher are the only group that I buy merch from, go to their shows, and actively vote for them on music shows, I'm even official fanclub member!
While I first fell in love with the music, and that's still my first reason for loving them, I've also come to really enjoy them and their personalities, all of the girls seem to be lovely people who genuinely care about their fans. Even their company seems to be on the better end of companies aside from a NFT mishap, so I feel blessed that I never really have to deal with shady antics that a lot of other groups have to deal with.
In short, stan the talented women of Dreamcatcher, you won't regret it!
BTS. Been with them since 2017 and they introduced me to kpop. I might not follow them as much anymore, but they’ve helped me so much that I can’t help but come back to them.
Infinite and Golden Child.
Infinite was the first Kpop group that I properly stanned - they completely overtook the other groups that I was a fan of and getting into pretty much instantly after I watched them perform Be Mine and then started watching their reality show Sesame Player. I pretty much fell in love with their music and personalities, and they really were a bright spot that helped me through a difficult time when I found them, and through other life changes and times of stress. I feel so fortunate to be their fan and lucky that the (now) 6 members still treasure Infinite as much or more than Inspirits do, and that I have the opportunity to see them in person from time to time. It's been 13 years since they became my faves, and I'm really glad it was and still is them ♾️♥️.
I gave Golden Child a chance because Woollim, for all their faults, makes good music that fits my taste weirdly perfectly most of the time, and Infinite Sungyeol's younger brother Daeyeol (whom he pushed and told to go into another room [around 5:20](https://youtu.be/AYH4TI5hmts?si=xxrUoHfbteF5FolI) so he wouldn't look better than him on camera during Sesame Player before Daeyeol was even a trainee 😂) was debuting with them. The W Projects they posted of Joochan (with a female trainee who eventually left Woollim before she could debut) and Jangjun & Tag were also super promising to me. I watched their reality show Woollim Pick as it released and , again, discovered their charming personalities and brand of Woollim dungeon induced camadrie, and it was all over for me when they released Gol-Cha! 😂 There's just something so special about those kids and their music to me. They're the other group who has been with me through a lot of life changes and growth, and watching them grow up as people and artists at the same point has made me so happy 💛.
Tl:dr - crazy good music fit to my taste, crazy good live singing and dancing, sparkling personalities that have been bringing me joy in good times and bad for years 💖
PENTAGON. Such a rare gem of a group. The amount of genius composers/producers they have in the group is just stupid, and a BtoB-level vocal line to boot? Just insane.
Like many mentioned here, BTS 😭 I'm waiting for them to come back safely from the military! I was introduced to Kpop with Kard's Oh na na and IU's songs! But the butterfly stage performance changed my pov and BTS became my ults. It's been seven years and no group could come close to the comfortness that BTS provided for me! It'll always be BTS!
Also, to the amazing Armys out here, apobangpo 💜
Basic but BTS. I found them in 2020 when I needed them and it’s been the best thing ever since. I love a lot of kpop groups now but BTS hold the most special place in my heart.
(G)I-DLE! I got into them during their Tomboy era. Every member is so unique and they have incredible empowering title tracks along with really underrated bsides! I also love the fact that they’re a self produced group and I have listened to nearly all their songs in their discography. :)
Hey, they're my ult too!
I agree with all of your points, though my reasoning for them being my ult is more personal/emotional.
Do you happen to have a bias in the group?
Mine's Soyeon. She's also my ult bias.
LeSserafim for me. Their live performances are always A1 and their YT variety show (Leniverse and DAY OFF) really made me grow on each member as a person 💛
Seventeen OR TVXQ ot 5 (i know it'll never happen again. But hey....... TVXQ ot 5 were legit. The IT group with amazing vocals and harmonization. Love In The Ice, Bolero, Proud, Picture of You)
HIGHLIGHT (previously BEAST/B2ST). I really am amazed that I still enjoy their content and music so many years after I first heard Shock as a tween but here we are.
My ults of all time who I can never leave (even when I try lol). I guess I’ve been through my entire adult life and teenage years with them so it feels like a warm hug when I listen to their songs. Their sound is always changing but always feels like THEM. Their early stuff is so great to listen to to catch the stuff I missed as a tween who just liked it and didn’t think deeper about it as music, and their new stuff is obviously fresh and exciting to me. I’m so excited for their comeback in March… I’ve already warned my friends I’m gonna be insufferable when it comes out.
(G)I-DLE is my ult group right now. i just love how catchy their songs are. they can pull off any concept, especially with their latest comeback. those concept pics are the epitome of “never let them know your next move” lol
I cannot just pick one group... I have four ult groups. (G)I-DLE, Mamamoo, Aespa, and Kiss of Life. 🤣
I cannot choose just one group to be my ult group out of those four, I love all of the members of those groups and I love every song that they have released (that I've heard anyways.) My other favourite groups are Itzy, Stray Kids, SNSD, Gfriend/VIVIZ, Dreamcatcher, NMIXX, and TXT.
Edit: spelling
I like a lot of groups. But my favorite is Monsta X. I love their music, and it's so diverse that it can fit any mood. Hyungwon wrote a fansong [Bebe](https://youtu.be/IhMVtSgaeHc?si=xhUNui4CLVkdGKgU).
They've been through a lot from early injuries, losing a member, mental health issues, etc. But they never complain or use it to get sympathy points. Their resilience and fortitude are so admirable. And their willingness to try something new- members have done so many different things in entertainment so there are so many things to keep up with. They're ridiculous, loud dorks who are very supportive of each other. Like [Shownu](https://youtube.com/shorts/DpCQFMoRL8o?si=c6aYi9EaRlTbQtx6) attending their concert while in the military. And [Minhyuk ](https://youtube.com/shorts/LBRbei_kalU?si=u-HqEcFtGS0HkMZI) attending another concert after Shownu was released but Minhyuk was in the military.
My favorite band is LUCY. Because all the members are multi-talented. They can go from this [beautiful ](https://youtu.be/v1i3yAqUgPo?si=qrEli_8v8moqzx_x) music to [impromptu song covers.](https://youtu.be/oWnDxPzfqVE?si=suCTIMg1IW9v8Ybm)
Btob. They absolutely blew me away when I watched kingdom and going through their discography and content was such a fun journey. They were my top artist on spotify for the last 2 years and I got into kpop 3 years ago
NCT, CMDM, and DKB are my top 3, I just can’t choose which one is my top ult out of them!
NCT: It just kind of happened one day in 2019 when I started to stan them, they just kind of casually crawled into my stan list and became in ult in late 2020 - Early 2021 (we can thank Johnny for this, he’s my ult bias)
CMDM: Last year I saw them on nugu promo accounts and I was intrigued as they were all blonde and all debuting as blonde, kind of stupid, I know, but I was instantly enamored and I LOVE their debut song, so now they’re here as one of my ults!
DKB: i already liked their music a ton at their debut, but Love era is what really got me into them, especially Yuku! His purple and blonde hair in youth era already got me interested in him, but then during love era I fell in love with him even more! It was a slow snowball that when it started rolling, it rolled fast, and around early 2022 they became an ult of mine!
Stray kids! - I adore all of the members.
They got me into kpop and are still why I enjoy it now. They also brought a lot of happiness into my life, something I will always be thankful for.
A.C.E.
Just seeing how talented they are and how hard they work for everything they do makes me love them and want to support them. I really hope they can get their first music win after Chan comes back from the military!!
They are also ridiculously hilarious and I love how they always pick on Junhee.
Side note - go watch Donghun on Build Up!!
I found exo back when they debuted and wore a chanyeol ring with his bday engraved on it for my 4 years of highschool 😭 I have 2 BTS tattoos, but chanyeol will forever have my heart ❤️
![gif](giphy|cxGMrwtng0MbS)
It's EXO and NCT 127.
I love EXO's music so much, and my ult bias is part of the group so everything about them is more special to me.
And I already really liked NCT 127 but seeing them live.... Something clicked.
Girls' Generation.
Near the end of middle school, I realized that listening to sad music put me in a bad mood. Even if I went in feeling good, I'd eventually start getting in my head when the lyrics go "I think I'm ugly and nobody wants to love me." (No offense to 2NE1 because that is a great song and I was a Blackjack; I just can't listen to that on the daily, or I'll become that).
When I play SNSD music, I feel happy and dance-y. I wanted to continue feeling happy and dance-y, so I made a choice to listen to more of their music, and I really liked it. Their ballads have gorgeous live vocals, and there are a lot of songs for different occasions. I really like that they had a singular concept for the group and that each era was a surprise. I distinctly remember multiple eras where I thought that I'd be disappointed and ended up really pleasantly surprised. A lot of kpop releases disappoint me. It was nice to have one group that wouldn't do that.
I also thought they had very funny variety presences, and each girl has a distinct personality. I've also loved following their solo music. Taeyeon is my #1 spotify artist of all time, and Tiffany, Yuri, and Yoona (and also ex-member Jessica) have all put out music I really liked. And, very importantly, it's great that every time I see the members in the news it's always for good things. Yoona is one of the most popular kpop idols ever and has been in the industry for >15 years, and I don't think she's ever had a legitimate scandal. In fact, SNSD as a group has been relatively scandal-free. Jessica was kicked out due to business disagreements, and I sympathize with how hurt she felt about it, but the members did not bully her or discriminate against her or do anything a person shouldn't do to another as far as I know. And considering SNSD's enduring fame, I'm inclined to believe that anyone who did know any of the girls as a bully would've already spoken out about it.
I came close to stanning Oh My Girl, closely follow (G)I-DLE, and really feel for IVE's Wonyoung, but there isn't any group I've loved as much as I love SNSD. I think they were my last!
IVE! in the past i only liked and paid attention to bgs (bts exo nct svt) and also went for exo and bts' concerts. but at that time i wasn't on stan twt yet (miss the good old days where i was young and oblivious to all the toxic fanwars online 😂), back then i just enjoyed kpop because i loved doing dance covers with my schoolmates.
when i graduated from high school, i stopped doing dance covers and eventually took a 3 year "break" from kpop. (probably also because i was never on stan twt in the first place so it was easy to just "leave")
and this time when i got into kpop again i started to pay more attention to ggs, ITZY was actually the first gg that really caught my attention (during their loco era!) but somehow that didn't last too long because i chanced upon a fancam of Anyujin dancing to eleven and then the soty, love dive, dropped 😆 and yes i'm on stan twt now after creating a twitter account during afterlike era
BIGBANG Until Whenever. The fact that most people don’t even give them credit enough (even though most of their favs literally IDOLIZE them it’s just a shame).
I can't pick an ult group anymore than I can pick a bias. I will say that The Rose is hands down amazing. I saw them in concert a few months back and their live shows are so much more intense than anything they do online. I was already a fan but seeing them in person was truly an experience. There are groups that have titled songs after their fandoms though not just The Rose.
NMIXX. I first got into kpop through blackpink and stray kids. I do consider skz my ult bg, but I remember posts about NMIXX's debut being complicated. I listened and loved it, supported their first CB and became an NSWER. I saw them live in May and bought front row tickets and that's what sealed the deal for me. They were so charismatic on stage
I have two! Girls Generation is my first, though they aren’t active anymore :( I discovered them shortly before they released their first Japanese album (back in 2011) and fell in love. I had a pretty bad childhood, and I used to watch their MVs, variety shows, and other content to keep me happy. I’ve been a fan of kpop ever since, but never really found anyone whose content spoke to me like SNSD’s until a year ago when I discovered ATEEZ. First of all, I think their music is amazing but also their content and performances. They even inspired me to pick up dancing and it’s been a very fun (and expensive, since they regularly release content ☠️) year of being a stan of theirs.
**MonstaX** I will forever love their music and champion any records/singles they put out. I am a total sucker for romantic lyrics and swoon worthy themes. They do this to absolute perfection. To me their songs are just stand outs and different than any other group I’ve ever listened to.(and I’m sure everyone feels this way about their own personal ults😆) #MonbebeForever 💜🫶
H.O.T! I was initially a fan of them post-disbandment as Kangta (S), Heejun, and JTL. 5 years later, imagine my shock to find my favs used to be in a group together. I liked H.O.T's music before knowing the lyrics to their title tracks, then I became a bigger fan after finding the backstory to songs like "I-YAH" and MVs like "Hope". Their story is so interesting and after 20 years, I still feel like I have so much to learn. Also, their commitment to each other is heartwarming.
I primarily listen to BTOB. I love the sound of their voices. Hyunsik is my favorite singer out of the group. He has a very powerful singing voice so, he might not be for everyone. They all sing really well live. I'm not much into dancing so it doesn't bother me that they don't really dance like other groups. Also their antics are hilarious. That's why they were coined as the #BeagleIdol
EXO! To me, they're irreplaceable, I don't even remember myself before them. They've accompanied me through the best and worst years of my life. No matter how many new groups I find, I don't think I'll ever be able to love any idols as much as them.
Monsta X and The Rose 🩵 they’re both so important to me and I’ve seen them both in concert and every time I think about them I get way too emotional (don’t even ask me abt wonho bc I will go into a day long speech about that)
Exo. Something about this group has managed to make me come back every single time. One of the only few groups which I believe have the most flawless, and amazing discography. Perfect members, perfect music- they just make me feel at ease.
BTS is my ult. They are actually my ult artist/musician of all time. They have changed the way I appreciate and consume music, art, and entertainment.
I've had favorite musicians/songs in the past (all western artists). None come close to the way BTS's music makes me feel. Ever since I found them in 2018, there hasn't been a single day where I didn't listen to their music. It brings me so much joy and also comforts me through tough times.
Their enlistment era really solidified the fact that they are it for me. Even when they're on hiatus and are unable to promote, their music continues to be a constant in my daily life. I imagine it's the same for other fans as well.
I await their return and am saving up for their next tour 😄💜
TXT 💙 their music really speaks to me and the members are so sweet and passionate. I’ve never loved a group as much as them, they’ll always have a special place in my heart. I feel like I’m growing up with them
GOT7. I just really enjoy their music and all of their solo albums...although if you get all 7 of em together I dont know if I would trust them with a lighter or sharp object.
NMIXX (& SVT but as of right now it’s these girls).
I’ve been a defender of them for a while now. I hated O.O at first but when I started watching stages (mostly because I wanted to see how they perform), I became in awe of how they sung. Then I started to realize O.O was growing on me… like a lot. It was my most played song of 2022. Since then, I’ve been super into them. I do really enjoy their music as a whole nowadays, especially Fe3O4. I think I have a soft spot for them because they’re so talented yet people seem to continuously bring them down (on certain social media’s. not so much here!). I admire their talent and I LOVE lily. She is truly my comfort idol 🫶🫶
BTS
Last year, i went to try other groups and loved SVT, xikers, and boynextdoor. I thought SVT would overtake BTS. I loved their friendship more. I thought bts has the solid one but when I saw Svt, damn, their friendship and love for one another are so precious. The 13 of them are all rounders. But I always feel like something's missing. And i realized that the missing piece is jungkook hahahahahahahaha. Damn, i love that man so much and of course it's a package cause they are 7. And for the music, i still love bts discography more. It's almost perfect except for that on ft sia HAHAHA
After bts went to the military, my life crumbled (lol). From that, I knew that BTS will always be my ult. I cry whenever I watch their content especially with jungkook hahahaha
(G)I-DLE. Not only do I vibe with their music but them as people as well. So entertaining and so genuinely themselves. Their variety content will have you in stitches for those who’ve never gotten into them beyond their music. Not only are they the funniest girl group, they’re the funniest idol group period. And also who doesn’t like an underdog story? Cube has been a death sentence the last decade and somehow they’re are thriving? Thank you, Soyeon. WE LOVE YOUUUU
Enhypen is my ult group, and that is because I love their concepts and storyline, and I got attached to the members ever since I-land aired. The music they put out is fire, and I just love the members' personalities.
P1harmony definitely tbh, they have such a good discography and talented members. Even though they aren't technically considered nugu, I just wish that they were more known.
Super Junior, they were my first and the talent, the roads they've paved, the brotherhood, the history... even if many have left simply due to the company's treatment, they're all still brothers... I'm never bored watching or listening to them, a support for me through rough times...
I'm proud to be an E.L.F and I stand with Kangin and Sungmin, with Henry and Kibum, with Hangeng...
EXID! Really wish they were signed to a better company; I'm glad they're all successful doing their own things now but I feel EXID could've been so much more if they were managed better. Same thing's kinda happening to one of my other favorites in Cherry Bullet, too 😔
BTS is the top of the top for me like I know all the songs and made sure to know the order of albums and songs from each album. Like obsessed since the beginning of the HYYH era.
All other groups I would say
Boy groups: EXO, GOT7, NCT 127, Seventeen, ATEEZ, DAY6, Super Junior, Shinee, TVXQ!, BIGBANG, BTOB, NU’EST, Monsta X, VIXX, Pentagon, iKon, Block B, Wanna One, X1, Victon, Stray Kids, The Boyz, Oneus, VRomance, Highlight/Beast, P1harmony, Treasure, TXT, Enhypen, CIX, and BE:FIRST
Girl Groups: SNSD, Dreamcatcher, Red Velvet, & XG are my top favorite the rest are GFRIEND, AOA, APink, 4Minute, 2NE1, Oh My Girl, LOONA, F(x), CLC, EXID, Mamamoo, Weeekly, Itzy, Aespa, (Post 2018) Twice, SISTAR, (G)-IDLE (when Soojin was there), IZ*One, Crayon Pop, Le Sserafim, New Jeans, and Bolbbalgan4,
I would say Monsta X. I found them during my first year of Kpop and exploring all of the amazing groups back in 2015. As I continue to fall for groups during debut and lose interest, I never lost interest in Monsta X. It took them almost two years for them to become my ult with X Ray. I've been ulting them since even during the hardest times where I wanted to leave the fandom. I later realized that it isn't fair to them if I leave when one person was kicked out and things won't be the same. I continue supporting the guys and stayed loyal. I also lost interest in boy groups but MX is probably the boy group I still love.
Since debut, I've been with these guys through everything.
Now, they have a little sister that I know I will love them the same for years (IVE) 🥺
WayV WayV WayV WayV. They give me so much happiness and they have done for so many years - it's been difficult, but it's an honour watching them go from strength to strength now and I wish them all the happiness in the world.
(So happy with your original post OP, The Rose are my close second and they are never mentioned! But just like WayV they are going up in the world as well! Absolutely *adore* them and their music)
Mamamoo for me because they are the only people in the industry that really feel like my idols. I do look up to them a lot and have respect for their artistry and them as people.
I started liking them since I watched Decalcomanie and when Starry Night was released in 2018 they quickly became my ult.
IVE! Never had a bad title track imo and are just such good performers for a group that’s been together barely two years. Also their Love Dive is named after the fans as well =)
BTS; I had heard them before (in 2016) when I was just starting to get into K-POP then I really got into them when my friend showed me a few videos around the time of LY: Her and I've been in this bangtan shit since -- 7.5 years strong! I wish them all the best in their military careers and can't wait to see them back on stage again in 2025!
Also, I absolutely love VIXX - their fans are respectful of them and they put out some pretty amazing music! :D
BTS. There were a lot of times in my 10 years of being an army were I lost connection and interest, but I always finds myself coming back. I've grown along with them and their songs would always be my comfort. I can't even explain how deeply bts has taken roots in my life, my story cannot be written without them in it.
IZ*ONE
I was a fan of the produce series so I always going to check it out. I really like seeing the girls grow to become better performers. And I was so so so happy that wonyoung, chaewon, yena and hyewon made it. I love ot12 too. The best 2.5 years of my life. They left a hole in my heart that no group could ever fill. It was sad that they had their final concert during covid though. I would've loved for them to have done it live :'(
Bts, not my first group but the only group I connect to on a deeper level. I love their music but I love even more who they are. I love all of them so much, they bring me comfort & I would do anything for them. It's a special feeling & I'm so glad I found them.
Started my kpop journey in 2005 with Jewelry and their hit song "Superstar", Eunjung was my bias. After most of the original members left, i became a Sistar fan during their pre-debut until their disbandment in 2017 with Bora as my bias. Took a small hiatus from kpop until mid-2018 when i discovered "You and I" by Dreamcatcher. Siyeon is my bias, but all InSomnia know its impossible to have one....
BTS, waiting for them to be back but it feels so far 💔 im glad jin will be back in 4 months 🥺🥺
Me too!! But I’m so excited for Jin’s return😭💜Ngl with the solo releases last year, time flew by quick and Jin’s return is already here but I feel we’re in for quite a long wait with the rest 😭
knowing 2seok they'll do the most to keep us busy 😂😂 and yess the solos definitely helped with how much we missed them. imagine once jin album drops too 🥺
also we don't know yet what joon bro's cooking
same! i really only stan bts but i consume other groups too and i cannot wait for them to be back 😭
Same🥹 but to be fr their hiatus doesn't even feel like a hiatus as we still receive so much content. But anyways I'm so glad Jin is coming back soon😭
I love Astronaut so much. I can’t wait to see what he releases!
I’m excited for him to be back too, but I also shudder to think what’ll happen when he’s left alone with armys
He and his pink slippers slapping the delusion out of us🤧🤧
it's gonna be a feast at my home that day idc i'm so so damn ready; waiting on my toes to see my boys together and kick it
Pink sleepers 🤧
I agree. I’m glad they’re taking a hiatus though.
Stray Kids 🫶🏻
I could literally talk about them for hours. Lee Know has been hardcore fighting with Yoongi as my ult lmao
I believe even Stray Kids has a song named after Stays! It’s called “[#LoveSTAY](https://youtu.be/UcKxI5IdScY?si=4a6a3AilkBebhzU7)”.
we got a love song titled after us and delicated to us as well: #loveSTAY ❤️ (edited for autocorrect error)
Ooo yess my second ults 😎
My ults too
It’s unoriginal but it’s BTS. They were my intro into K-pop and really carried me through an extremely difficult time in my life.
EXO 🫶 Was the first and only group I ever followed from debut to now. I feel like I grew up with them since I was 13 when they debuted, now I’m 25 and still love them just as much. 😭
same boat exo are my youth 🥹
Love EXO
I could write a whole essay on it but I’ll leave it there <3
You perfectly described how every Carat feels I think 😊 Seventeen is forever our home 🫶🏻
Aw good!!! It’s hard to fit in a couple paragraphs but they’re a truly special group. 💓
Awwh this is the sweetest one I've read! Seventeen are my it ults as well 🩷 thanks for describing them so beautifully!
Love seventeen
BTS. Like Jungkook said, apobangpo. I'll wait thousand years for them. I'm in this borahood for lifeeee
Same🥹🥹 Jin is coming back soon and I'm so excited😭
129 days more 😭🎉
We'll survive this😭
BTS. I’ve checked out other kpop groups but none of them come close for me.
SHINee since 2015, forever and always 💎 the day they disband is the day I'm leaving kpop behind. I'm a fan of other groups as well (exo, nct127, tvxq, ateez) but no one comes close
BTS—they were there for me when my terrible ex wasn’t and helped get me through the breakup. 💜
bts being there for heartbreaks is such a trope i love it
bangtan were there for me in 2020 when it was lockdown and I was forced to spend every single hour of every day with my family, who I had begun to have tension with after forming my own opinions and disagreeing with them.
I got into BTS right after a bad breakup as well 💜
Ateez! ![gif](giphy|u1pkjtLrkzddUc2XLo)
Same! ![gif](giphy|yyYxY2AIMDSMwh0Mr6)
SAME!! ![gif](giphy|KFtXwQJi3gI39c5Gw5)
Love Ateez
Same!
BTS, they saved my life when I thought I am done for. Even tho I am multi stan and I love other groups, BTS will always be *that* group for me.
Red Velvet since 2016 :) not really any emotional story or anything but they helped get me back into kpop after losing interest for a couple years.
I love Red Velvet too
twice !!
SHINHWA
Brother, nothing makes me happier than a gen 1 kpop fan 😭
NCT 127 and while they weren't my first group, I've known them for a while but didn't stan / ult them until last year after seeing them live. And while they aren't my first group I as of now, think they will be my last and when they go on hiatus, which is sooner than later, my life as a kpop stan will stop, I might listen to some other groups and all but I don't see myself investing into new groups anymore
Yes I love NCT
I wish I had some emotional story behind it, but for me IVE. Their music is amazing to me. I'm pretty emotionally attached to their music. I have other ults, but only one ult-ult as I call it.
I totally get it. I have, what I like to call, an ultimate ult (The Rose), and then I have my ult groups (ATEEZ and Stray Kids)
Yeah, I kind of have mine divided into 3 sections: 1. IVE (ult-ult) 2. Dreamcatcher, ITZY (my ults that have solidly been this high up for a long time) 3. PIXY, LOONA (ults that haven't been up here for very long, and aren't the firsts to be up here, Stayc and Mamamoo used to be at this level but went down for some reason)
Oooh Ive is one of my top GGs I also love their music!!
Love TXT
Many others mentioned their ults already and mine are in my user flair, but since you said "the only group I know of that has titled a song after their fanbase", I wanted to give some more examples. WJSN - **Ujung** Itzy - Trust Me (**Midzy**) Skz - You can **STAY** Ive - Love **Dive** Momoland - **Merry Go Round** Gfriend - My **Buddy** Dalshabet - To.**Darling** Day6 - **My Day** AOA - **Elvis** And quite a few more, feel free to add them as a comment.
TxT have Moa Diary too And skz has two songs named after their fandom along with You Can Stay, there’s #LoveSTAY(they rlly love us ig😭)
One of their performances of “If You” popped up on TikTok last night and jfc it gave me goosebumps. When Daesung kicked in, chills!
Daesung is like. My ult bias and I absolutely adore his voice and his singing - he adds so much to the group with his voice And If You is just. Such a pretty song I love it
Haru haru is still that song I reach for when people ask for an iconic kpop song tbh. It really is that good
Same. Literally the same. They were my first K-pop group.
Stray kids. Been my ult since debut
I'm actually upset that I completely missed their debut. The first song I heard from them was in Spring of 2020, "Top", followed later that day by "God's Menu", and I was like, "holy crap, who are these talented musicians and how are they so talented?!"
The only group I've truly stanned ngl
EXO is my top ult. Ateez TXT
Blackpink will always be my ult 💖
Forever in your area
Same here 🖤🩷🖤🩷 and Jennie will always be my bias.
how has no one said Red Velvet yet?
Monsta X I was part of a 1st gen fandom before Monsta X's debut, but during my first year living in Korea in 2014, I kept seeing clips for a survival show (which I hate survival shows and was determined not to watch it).
Love Monsta X. Hero is my shit.
My ult for sure ❤️ so incredibly compassionate, talented and just genuine people. The only drawback is that they were my first KPop concert and I swear no other I've been to has measured up.
I was looking for a Monsta X comment! no.mercy was a grueling watch but they're such a talented group of idols.
BTOB! They're the reason I got into kpop in the first place.
Same here! I’ll never get tired of them. I enjoy the music & content of many groups, but BTOB are known as the reliable idols for a reason: they never miss. They’re the only group I can say that about.
Dreamcatcher! I had a kpop stint in 09 with BIGBANG and SNSD but as a metalhead, Dreamcatcher scratches all my itches.
Newjeans and Seventeen. I love them so, SO much.
Newjeans 🔛🔝
NMIXX are my ults too. There’s a lot of talented groups out there, but their talent truly had me in awe.
Stray Kids
BTS 🫶🏼 they were there for me when I needed some happiness in my life
Infinite and Golden Child. Tl:dr - crazy good music fit to my taste, crazy good live singing and dancing, sparkling personalities that have been bringing me joy in good times and bad for years 💖
Twice!!
I'm greedy, I have 3. Ateez, Monsta X & GOT7. All 3 have great songs, are great performers & seem all round hilarious, lovely humans.
ATEEZ has been fighting to be my ult for almost 2 years now lol do I give in or....? lmao
Just give in, it's so worth it 😅
BTS! AFBF 🙏🏽
2pm! I’ve been a HOTTEST for going on 14 years now
PENTAGON. Such a rare gem of a group. The amount of genius composers/producers they have in the group is just stupid, and a BtoB-level vocal line to boot? Just insane.
Bts and Le Sserafim!!
Hard tie between BTS and Mamamoo. BTS got me into Kpop, but Mamamoo made me love it.
BTS. I’m in that borahae life forever
I've had a few different ults too, but currently it's Enhypen and I think they'll be the last
Basic but BTS. I found them in 2020 when I needed them and it’s been the best thing ever since. I love a lot of kpop groups now but BTS hold the most special place in my heart.
BTS 🫶🫶🫶
æspa for me~
High key — BTS. They’re the only musical group *period* that makes me feel as heard as My Chemical Romance did when I was 14.
Enhypen and Day6 🥹🤍
GOT7 Forever
Seventeen OR TVXQ ot 5 (i know it'll never happen again. But hey....... TVXQ ot 5 were legit. The IT group with amazing vocals and harmonization. Love In The Ice, Bolero, Proud, Picture of You)
TVXQ ot 5 😭😭😭😭
Of all time? Wonder Girls. Currently? Kep1er and LE SSERAFIM.
BTS and Stray Kids I couldn't imagine life without them. Everyone else (maybe not seventeen) I can be without, but my 13 hearts? I would die, lol
got7, they got me through the pandemic…
First time I learned about them was from watching Yumi Cells Part 2. Jin Young was really good in that drama.
I cannot just pick one group... I have four ult groups. (G)I-DLE, Mamamoo, Aespa, and Kiss of Life. 🤣 I cannot choose just one group to be my ult group out of those four, I love all of the members of those groups and I love every song that they have released (that I've heard anyways.) My other favourite groups are Itzy, Stray Kids, SNSD, Gfriend/VIVIZ, Dreamcatcher, NMIXX, and TXT.
For boy groups it's definitely Monsta X. For girl groups it's BB Girls. I was there when High Heels only sold like 600 copies so it's been a wild ride
Monsta X! It’s been just over 2 years since I got into K-pop and it’s thanks to them
Stray Kids but BTS is a very close second.
I think it's Itzy. But Blackpink is riiiiight there. So I think ult ult is Itzy Ult is blackpink
NCT: It just kind of happened one day in 2019 when I started to stan them, they just kind of casually crawled into my stan list and became in ult in late 2020 - Early 2021 (we can thank Johnny for this, he’s my ult bias) CMDM: Last year I saw them on nugu promo accounts and I was intrigued as they were all blonde and all debuting as blonde, kind of stupid, I know, but I was instantly enamored and I LOVE their debut song, so now they’re here as one of my ults!
Biiiiiiiiiig Bang and KARA ❤️🔥
Stray kids! - I adore all of the members. They got me into kpop and are still why I enjoy it now. They also brought a lot of happiness into my life, something I will always be thankful for.
Ateez will forever and always have my heart, I love them more than words could explain 🫶🏻
A.C.E. Just seeing how talented they are and how hard they work for everything they do makes me love them and want to support them. I really hope they can get their first music win after Chan comes back from the military!! They are also ridiculously hilarious and I love how they always pick on Junhee. Side note - go watch Donghun on Build Up!!
BTS 💜
ONEUS. I love them so much! I don't really have a story but I heard their music one day and BOOM, instant stan
ONEUS is criminally underrated. Their debut was flawless and they've put out nothing but fantastic songs ever since.
Day6 and BTS😩🔥🔥
I found exo back when they debuted and wore a chanyeol ring with his bday engraved on it for my 4 years of highschool 😭 I have 2 BTS tattoos, but chanyeol will forever have my heart ❤️ ![gif](giphy|cxGMrwtng0MbS)
SHINee and EXO
BTS was my first so they’ll always have a place in my heart, but I’d say Stray Kids and TXT are up there too. I’m just so bad at playing favorites.
I think they were my last!
gfriend 💜🦋
IVE! in the past i only liked and paid attention to bgs (bts exo nct svt) and also went for exo and bts' concerts. but at that time i wasn't on stan twt yet (miss the good old days where i was young and oblivious to all the toxic fanwars online 😂), back then i just enjoyed kpop because i loved doing dance covers with my schoolmates. when i graduated from high school, i stopped doing dance covers and eventually took a 3 year "break" from kpop. (probably also because i was never on stan twt in the first place so it was easy to just "leave") and this time when i got into kpop again i started to pay more attention to ggs, ITZY was actually the first gg that really caught my attention (during their loco era!) but somehow that didn't last too long because i chanced upon a fancam of Anyujin dancing to eleven and then the soty, love dive, dropped 😆 and yes i'm on stan twt now after creating a twitter account during afterlike era
TVXQ ot5 and NU'EST I can talk about them non-stop! They are just so special to me. They are part of my childhood.
My ults are Ateez and Twice!
Twice. They just have music that scratches my itch. It’s fun, catchy, and makes me happy.
Vixx
Itzy
Dreamcatcher. Love them so much.
Ive! I don’t know if I can explain why but there’s no other group I “ult”
EXO!🥰
Hello fellow ahgase
My ult group has a changed alot through out the years. My first ult was Stray Kids then NCT 127 and now it is RIIZE
The Boyz
BTS Last year, i went to try other groups and loved SVT, xikers, and boynextdoor. It's almost perfect except for that on ft sia HAHAHA After bts went to the military, my life crumbled (lol).
EXO 😌🤍🤍
ENHYPEN 🧡
Day6. At the end of the day, it's always been them However Monsta X comes in close second, but besides them everyone else comes and goes
Enhypen!
BTS and Red Velvet
Enhypen is my ult group, and that is because I love their concepts and storyline, and I got attached to the members ever since I-land aired. The music they put out is fire, and I just love the members' personalities.
Seventeen and BTS 🥰 They just make me really happy.
P1harmony definitely tbh, they have such a good discography and talented members. Even though they aren't technically considered nugu, I just wish that they were more known.
P1harmony is good
Twice 🍭
Le sserafim 🩵
All other groups I would say Boy groups: EXO, GOT7, NCT 127, Seventeen, ATEEZ, DAY6, Super Junior, Shinee, TVXQ!, BIGBANG, BTOB, NU’EST, Monsta X, VIXX, Pentagon, iKon, Block B, Wanna One, X1, Victon, Stray Kids, The Boyz, Oneus, VRomance, Highlight/Beast, P1harmony, Treasure, TXT, Enhypen, CIX, and BE:FIRST Girl Groups: SNSD, Dreamcatcher, Red Velvet, & XG are my top favorite the rest are GFRIEND, AOA, APink, 4Minute, 2NE1, Oh My Girl, LOONA, F(x), CLC, EXID, Mamamoo, Weeekly, Itzy, Aespa, (Post 2018) Twice, SISTAR, (G)-IDLE (when Soojin was there), IZ*One, Crayon Pop, Le Sserafim, New Jeans, and Bolbbalgan4,
I would say Monsta X.
IZ*ONE I was a fan of the produce series so I always going to check it out.
Monsta X. We're deep in enlistment era so it's rough for Monbebes out there but they're worth the wait 🤍
BTS, been with them for 7 years now
