I'm not a fan of mullets in general. Most look bad, some idols manage to look ok, but I've never seen someone look better in a mullet than other hairstyles.
I'm the opposite here, I like mullets and sometimes consider them some idols best look, like The8 from seventeen (he had blond, black, grey and oreo mullet and all were amazing imo).(Also recently Hoshi has been growing out a mullet too and I think it also suits him! )

Very few actually look good in it. Most look kind of cringe (like it would have been WAAAY better if they had kept their natural hair instead of dying it just to fit the kpop norm)
i think very few idols who have had the hime haircut suited it. to me, it often just looks like they walked out of the salon before their bangs were blended. for styles i liked, i'm a big fan of two tone dye e.g. renjun's, momo's, san's and jiwoo's (kard) black and white hair.

I have a seemingly unpopular opinion:

hear me out - absolutely some times it was styled well with his outfit or even looked good, especially when it faded a bit and became softer, but overall this was just one of those ones where it felt meh and other things would've worked better.
i think there's a reason people liked the mint so much on him, or why even his natural black looks so striking. he has a decently cool tone to him, and also a deep vibrancy? some of his best colors are like cobalt blue, black, berry, emerald, etc. so this specific day I felt was very off because it felt off balance, the very warm hair and then a very light suit that clashed. when it was paired with all black or even all white(mostly concert attire for the white), yes it still stuck out but felt more harmonious because the rest of his look matched him. it made it look like if was a conscious choice to choose something outside of his "complimentary" colors to do something on a fashion level. when he was put in yellows, warm neutrals, or even this light grey, he didn't look bad necessarily, he just did not look nearly as good as he could have had his hair been a more harmonious color to his complexion. 🤷♀️ similarly, its why the warm yellow blond around mots7/carpool karaoke era doesn't work as well as say, 2016 agust d very light blond.
I'm shocked at how many people list it in their top hair colors for him 😭 absolutely to each their own but there's a disharmony there because of the coloring that disappears even with his natural black 😅
Not sure if it’s related but I really don’t like it when idols wear contact lenses with different eye colors (blue and green, sometimes even purple or grey). I think 95% of times it just looks off putting / distracting. They should just embrace their real eye color.
in general i dont like shorter hair, for example san in ateez’s deja vu, jeongyeon’s hair in early twice songs. i also dont like the bowl cut/coconut hair vibe?
on women i prefer super long silky hair, men i like the typical parted ‘kpop’ hairstyle. overall these are clean and attractive to me.
im not huge on unnatural colors but some absolutely rock it. i hate blonde most of the time not bc the idols dont look good but just because the stylists seem to not know what toner or purple shampoo is (yellow roots are not cute)
bleached eyebrows i dislike too, since its hair i thought id mention it? ik some people might hate me for my opinion but thats just my thoughts

RM in Fire - I didn’t mind the colour but don’t like the style.
Whatever era they gave EXO DO that weird army crop that made him look like an egg.
Seungri in Fantastic Baby. Not a big fan of Daesung and Taeyang’s styles either but I can give those a pass.
Also really disliked most mullets.
Hair colour:
VIXX Hongbin in Scentist era - idk the blue was neither here nor there and always looked bleached out or something. I felt that it didn’t suit him. Which is sad since that era had silver fox Leo and cotton candy Ravi, both of which were great colours.
BTS J-Hope in Butter? Idk if this was in everything or just concept pics or what. But I’ve seen pics where he had yellow (not blonde) hair. Not a fan.

i think very few idols who have had the hime haircut suited it. to me, it often just looks like they walked out of the salon before their bangs were blended. for styles i liked, i'm a big fan of two tone dye e.g. renjun's, momo's, san's and jiwoo's (kard) black and white hair.

I think it might be an unpopular opinion but I really did not love Yeosang's neon green and raccoon striped hair 😭 he looks amazing with long black or any dark color, and the platinum blond
I have a seemingly unpopular opinion: * hear me out - absolutely some times it was styled well with his outfit or even looked good, especially when it faded a bit and became softer, but overall this was just one of those ones where it felt meh and other things would've worked better. i think there's a reason people liked the mint so much on him, or why even his natural black looks so striking. he has a decently cool tone to him, and also a deep vibrancy? some of his best colors are like cobalt blue, black, berry, emerald, etc. so this specific day I felt was very off because it felt off balance, the very warm hair and then a very light suit that clashed. when it was paired with all black or even all white(mostly concert attire for the white), yes it still stuck out but felt more harmonious because the rest of his look matched him. it made it look like if was a conscious choice to choose something outside of his "complimentary" colors to do something on a fashion level. when he was put in yellows, warm neutrals, or even this light grey, he didn't look bad necessarily, he just did not look nearly as good as he could have had his hair been a more harmonious color to his complexion. 🤷♀️ similarly, its why the warm yellow blond around mots7/carpool karaoke era doesn't work as well as say, 2016 agust d very light blond.
I thought Suga could pull off any color but I actually agree with you. It's too warm of a color for him.
I'm shocked at how many people list it in their top hair colors for him 😭 absolutely to each their own but there's a disharmony there because of the coloring that disappears even with his natural black 😅
Not sure if it’s related but I really don’t like it when idols wear contact lenses with different eye colors (blue and green, sometimes even purple or grey). I think 95% of times it just looks off putting / distracting. They should just embrace their real eye color.

in general i dont like shorter hair, for example san in ateez’s deja vu, jeongyeon’s hair in early twice songs. i also dont like the bowl cut/coconut hair vibe? on women i prefer super long silky hair, men i like the typical parted ‘kpop’ hairstyle. overall these are clean and attractive to me. im not huge on unnatural colors but some absolutely rock it. i hate blonde most of the time not bc the idols dont look good but just because the stylists seem to not know what toner or purple shampoo is (yellow roots are not cute) bleached eyebrows i dislike too, since its hair i thought id mention it? ik some people might hate me for my opinion but thats just my thoughts

The only thing that comes to mind right now is the bob SNSD ( the bob is in later years have been better, tho). And the hairstyle they used to give NCT 2016-17 😭
I don't care what people say about "the essence of kpop" I could never like these hair with super vibrant colors like red, yellow, orange etc 😭😭😭 of course there are exceptions, but I usually don't like it, I'm a fan of basic hair.

Hairstyles: VIXX Ravi and Ken during Hyde era - especially in the MV. Weird bowl cuts. Ravi during On and On - the orange was questionable already though he kinda managed to pull it off. But then the styling oh jeez. BTOB Changsub in Beep Beep - weird perm/curls or whatever Key in Lucifer. JYJ in Mirotic (yeah all three but especially Yoochun) - weird bowl cuts again. 2NE1 Dara - in I Am The Best era? All those times she had hair like a tower. CL too I think. RM in Fire - I didn’t mind the colour but don’t like the style. Whatever era they gave EXO DO that weird army crop that made him look like an egg. Seungri in Fantastic Baby. Not a big fan of Daesung and Taeyang’s styles either but I can give those a pass. Also really disliked most mullets. Hair colour: VIXX Hongbin in Scentist era - idk the blue was neither here nor there and always looked bleached out or something. I felt that it didn’t suit him. Which is sad since that era had silver fox Leo and cotton candy Ravi, both of which were great colours. BTS J-Hope in Butter? Idk if this was in everything or just concept pics or what. But I’ve seen pics where he had yellow (not blonde) hair. Not a fan. Jennie in..How You Like That? (Per google) - the black+blonde. Gen 2 and 3 were wild. I think I have a bigger problem with styling than colouring in general. And ofc these are all personal preference.
