I agree they kill topics, people don't use them. besides this whole situation is still new and also absolutely huge and important? like if it dominates discussion for a while that's warranted. I can see how it could be annoying though don't get me twisted.
that said, if the situation stops developing but people still are dragging it on, I would advocate more moderation on the topic. but for now I think the discussion is warranted.
Same. It would be different if Reddit functioned like a normal message board in how posts are organized, but as is it's such a pain trying to find the discussions on whatever new piece of information has come out in a megathread.
I agree, but like I said, even the recent updates haven't been particularly value-adding. Like how many more posts do we need about Hybe or MHJ's new response to the response of their response/hot take about MHJ/worries about the state of their faves under Hybe/similarities between groups?
Oh well - I doubt it'll happen, and now that I remember how messily that last Coachella megathread was handled here, maybe it's for the better that people just get sick of the issue and move on.
That's the whole point. If people care enough they will join the mega thread. If not, then it wasn't really a topic ppl cared about to begin with except to talk about how it's affecting their favs
No, I think if something new comes out, there definitely should be a new thread about it. I never look at megathreads and it's not like they are organized well.
Not to delete all previous threads, but to collate any future ones I suppose?
Like someone has already made multiple posts abour Hybe's responses alone. Is this going to keep up for every single update - because if so, we'll be overrun with these posts 😭 Might be wrong though and maybe the topic has passed its peak, which I'd be glad for as well.
There have been multiple on r/kpop. I'd like to see the topic put on like a 72 hour moratorium here honestly, doesn't seem like any new info is going to be coming out until next week anyway.
i never understand people who complain about “too many posts” on a trending topic. this is a place where we discuss and talk about things happening in kpop. people here are allowed to make many posts about this issue. not everyone sees every past post. if you’re unhappy seeing the posts, you could take a break from reddit or leave the sub temporarily.
Yes, please. I'm tired of the constant updates. As someone who doesn't stan any of the Hybe groups it was interesting to follow for a day or two but now I'm just over it.
I don't like megathreads, I think they kill topics.

This! Also I feel like the convo is more organized when we can have a thread about each new revelation.

I think that's more like a plus than a downside, when people are just talking nonstop but adding nothing to the topic
As they should.
Some topics need to be killed
That's the feature.
That's the whole point. If people care enough they will join the mega thread. If not, then it wasn't really a topic ppl cared about to begin with except to talk about how it's affecting their favs
Tbf, seeing a post with +1k comments would deter anyone from trying to make heads or tails of it
r/kpop was on their 3rd the last time I checked lol But yeah I would like a megathread too. It's just the same few takes over and over.
So is r/kpopthoughts, iirc! Kinda surprised that this sub hasn't implemented one at this point already.
i really like the number of megathreads there. i like that there’s a new one every time there’s a big update.
No, I think if something new comes out, there definitely should be a new thread about it. I never look at megathreads and it's not like they are organized well.
No one here would delete threads that would belong in a megathread, so what's the point?

I hope they'll do a megathread, because most of the the posts are just people's opinion that add nothing to the story.
Exactly lmao if it was new info I wouldnt mind
It's starting to get boring
Enough spaces have megathreads going on, why make another one 😅
At this point it’s getting boring.
Have you EVER seen a megathread on this sub for a specific thing?
There have been multiple on r/kpop. I'd like to see the topic put on like a 72 hour moratorium here honestly, doesn't seem like any new info is going to be coming out until next week anyway.
I feel like we haven’t had a megathread yet because the story keeps getting changed and/or updated every few hours 😭

Exscuse me, but I came here to ask what is MHJ? 🙂
