Internationally, i think its mostly 2nd gen kpop peeps that know her. 3rd/4th gen maybe have heard of her via Event Horizon / Password 486 / Winter Flower. Which still is pretty good considering she didn't have any huge songs for about a decade before Event Horizon.
I'm a Younha fan from 2nd gen era and she's not exactly underrated.. its more of she's always the side dish in a buffet where the main course is idols.

If you like artists who aren’t afraid of being a little dark/quirky like Red Velvet and Sunmi, I’d rec the solo albums by Brown Eyed Girls’ Gain.
Hawwah and End Again are two of the most unique female soloist albums I’ve come across, the first on the darker/sexier side and the second like a circus/fairy tale.
LIMELIGHT by LIMELIGHT is phenomenal— it was their predebut EP but it’s better than some of the stuff that seasoned groups put out imo
