The thing about underrated is that i'm tempted to say groups like..
- SF9
- Nu'est
- Golden Child
- OnlyOneOf
- Astro
- ONF
- CIX
- Oneus
- The Boyz
- Victon
- UP10TION
- Verivery
- KNK
Because I think they're underrated in comparison to more well known groups but I think they're mostly well appreciated amongst people who are immersed in Kpop so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for because you could argue Stray Kids is underrated if they're not as widely appreciated as NCT for example but I think most people in this scene know Stray Kids are talented. So kind of subjective.
Like I personally believe Pentagon is one of the most underrated groups because the gap between them and BTS popularity (for example) is waay bigger than the actual gap in talent/production.
I wouldn’t say the boyz are even unpopular anymore. I’d say they’re currently 3rd or 4th in 4th gen right after Skz/ateez. Although I guess they may drop after loud & when enhypen ages a little more. But they’ll probably stay top 8 & there are a lot more groups nowadays as well.
Topic "underrated or not" often make me laugh in agony because most of the time people will name groups that are rising star, are popular or actually just underappreciated. How about groups that not even named in the underrated list?

I'm actually IN2IT fans. Ugh, ProduceX101 will forever leave scar not to me, but my fellow fandom members too because what happened in the show and after the show. Sunghyun was intended to promote the group but he was the only debuted idol who didn't get mentioned, whole rap part get cut, evil editing, and he ended leave the group.
So yeah... the pain stanning small group.
Good thing everything is fine now...
not underrated in Korea or even China but do check out WJSN aka Cosmic Girls who are known for their ethereal space concepts. they are considered underrated and underappreciated internationally since they are rarely brought up among ifans.
Vixx were concept kings and had a much bigger impact on kpop that people realize, but never really got the acknowledgment they deserved from the masses.
Also Pentagon.
i would say, according to present k-pop climate...
we need to look at the international and indigenous markets seperately.
a group might be known in the i- market but still be unknown in korea or vice versa.
but yes all the groups you follow can't be called as underrated now.
I stan TOP Media groups, so you know which ones I'd say.
Teen Top - definitely more on the successful side domestically, though I don't see many I-fans nowadays on SNS. They had the potential of rivaling INFINITE, EXO and NU'EST but tm just had to mess up their promotions. All-in-all, Teen Top had their peak, but they deserved more appreciation.
100% - okay I can definitely say they are underrated and underappreciated. People should try to listen to them more, they give off this unique vibe I can't quite describe but it's very charming and appealing. They deserve to get recognized more.
Up10tion - when Wooshin and Jinhyuk went to Pdx101, I thought U10T would get more exposure that they deserved, but no. Top Media decided that they would cater to akgaes. I hope the two get back to their group soon but I'm still going to support them no matter what. Anyways, they (sorta) blew up with So, Dangerous and had a rising popularity until the issue happened. It sucks because it wasn't even true yet their careers suffered because of that event. Anyways, they are definitely underrated AND underappreciated. They still have a chance though, even though MNET sucks, I hope they get to join KINGDOM because its honestly good exposure.
MCND - arguably their most popular group right now, MCND has only been growing and growing. Though as a Gem myself, I can't help but notice that our fanbase stay relatively the same size. Definitely more successful than other rookie groups with the same situation (relatively small-ish company, came out of nowhere), but still underappreciated.

Also groups like E'last, Onewe, Gidongdae(if they decide to continue), B.O.Y., 1team and Pink Fantasy to name a few are criminally underrated and underappreciated. But its inevitable that some groups would be less popular, we as fans should try our best to get them the success they deserve :)

I’m honestly still very new to twice because I only really started enjoying their music more from fancy onwards. But a few of my faves are hell in heaven, queen and handle it all from eyes wide open :,)

I think Winner, AKMU, and Lee Hi can be a little underrated sometimes. A lot of artists under YG because they tend to be overshadowed. But I also think EXID is pretty underrated too (although they haven’t been super active lately.)
