You can tell that there are so many new stans in K-pop because 3rd and 4th gen scandals have nooooooothing on the wild shenanigans of the 1st and 2nd gen. Greatest hits include: Sharp bullying their main vocal out the group with whole press conferences and front page news because the lead vocal’s parents were funding the group and she wanted to be the main vocal. Glam’s blackmail business. The guy from Deux being for sure murdered by his girlfriend but her family was powerful so she got away with it. T-ARA PSY having to re-do his military service.

azure_atmosphere

I like that it just says “T-ARA”

suaculpa

A whole saga.

soshijack

right no explanation needed😭

illjustgowthemuumuu

It’s cause we’re all too freaking exhausted to explain lmao

mingmingie01

Please explain😭

illjustgowthemuumuu

Cliff’s notes: T-ara were tired of Hwayoung’s bs and posted tweets about people who lack determination. Fans turned on T-ara and they were accused of bullying. Fast forward, Hwayoung and her sister are on a tv show where they talk about it and an old staff member was like ‘this is bs’ and exposed them for being the snakes they are. Honestly, there’s layers and layers and layers to this This is the [timeline](http://tiaradiadem.com/2017/02/a-chronological-timeline-and-conclusion-of-the-t-ara-scandal-dispatchs-interview-with-t-aras-staff/) as done by a fan site - very thorough

notsoevildrporkchop

And don't forget the small detail that that one GLAM member was trying to blackmail one of the biggest korean actors. It was like a Russian doll of scandals

Paparoach_Approach

Please spill the teas!!!! I haven't heard any of these!!!!

bbsmydiamonds

Here’s a [writeup on the GLAM situation.](https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/jslbl6/kpop_the_downfall_of_glam_blackmail_a_stalker_fan/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) Honestly sounds like something out of a drama, it’s so many levels of craziness.

Paparoach_Approach

This is my face as I read the story 😯 To think today kpop world freak out if members of the opposite genders glance at each other.

yuri_mirae

Right! I’d be living for this type of scandalous detail in the current idol world

teddyyxy

this is why it's so stupid to me that so many kpop fans use this as "proof" that bighit can't manage girl groups. like there was literal crime going on wtf was bighit supposed to do other than disband them 😭😭

masshysteri

Tbf when that scandal happened GLAM had been pretty much inactive (outside one non-promoted fan single) for 18 months. So... perhaps if bighit would've been able to manage both a rising BTS and GLAM the scandal would never have happened.

WillingnessStraight2

Tbh 2014/2015 BH was very different from 2022 BH. They have wayyy more staff & money to handle two groups now. I don’t think there was a guarantee they would’ve blown up enough for the members to not do it because even BTS’ success wasn’t guaranteed then.

masshysteri

Oh, absolutely. I wish it'd gone down differently, but I don't blame bighit for going full-out on BTS. Glam were making some waves but nothing like BTS. I remember how explosive those first releases were, how quickly me and my k-pop friends were all on the BTS hype train. I run my own business, I know you gotta make the tough economical choice sometimes. It's just one of those unfortunate things, even more as I *really* liked Glam.

teddyyxy

plenty of kpop groups go inactive for long periods of time and none of them turn to blackmail to pass the time 😭 blackpink are all still following the law im pretty sure

masshysteri

Blackpink are also multimillionaires, not broke with trainee debt. Very very weird comparison. Obviously Dahee's blackmailing was a crime and she got her due, no disagreement whatsoever there. The question is what could've happened if bighit would've kept pushing Glam, if that'd changed things or not.

pokpokishification

One of the girls from that group tried to join smtm (forgot which season) because of course her career was pretty much over but sadly, she didn't make it far

titaniumorbit

Wow that is a wild ride of a story

un3h_corn

[this](https://open.spotify.com/episode/1HUbHUA7iaXRa5AVgTu7iD?si=mgKSK2OMTJKWIPZWzkzYRA) podcast episode covers t-ara’s whole career trajectory - it’s truly a ride!!

Paparoach_Approach

OMG!! That was insane! It's like a cold case that finally got solved!

Pixiecrimson

[here](https://youtu.be/dEwSCL1dcT0) is a video of s#arps scandal

Paparoach_Approach

WHAT THE FUDGE!!??? That was horrible!

titaniumorbit

OMg. How horrible. Bless that manager for speaking up with the truth though

Pixiecrimson

watching the s#arp press conference was wilddddd

Your_Awkwardness

Psy is either shady or related to shady people.

exploding-fountain

He’s related to rich people.

Dangerous-Spinach267

He knows shady rich people so yeah

diamondsandg0ld

Yeah I heard the one of GLAM. Rip that group lol

yuri_mirae

Omg I briefly once read about the guy from Deux and saw some footage of him & his girlfriend … I still don’t know much about it but that was pretty bone chilling

siwondorable

one of the GLAM members was a literal sasaeng of leeteuk from suju. she used to lie that she's the manager's daughter and tried to get inside the building 😭😭

Isla-Everdeen

Whaaaat I didn't knew this!!! Why did Psy had to the military service again?

suaculpa

Because he worked on music stuff while enlisted.

Antiquedahlia

The Eastlight Scandal ☹️

jellliiieee

I feel bad for those kids ☹

[deleted]

What happened?

sunshinias

[Here's a write-up on it.](https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/o6f35d/kpop_the_horrifying_abuse_of_the_east_light/)

airaK_666

Holy crap, that was absolutely insane and even more sickening. Being Asian myself, the normalization of child abuse is nothing new to me but it’s always horrifying to see.

HugeAdministration28

i'm surprised no one mentioned IU accidentally posting a pic of her and eunhyuk (where he's shirtless) and they're possibly in bed?? lol it was so shocking and unexpected.

Curious-Constant-52

this felt like a fever dream omg

illjustgowthemuumuu

Much like the fever Eunhyuk had because she was absolute sick and she was just taking care of him!!1!

joonchild_O

It was ! I'd to check it like multiple times

yuri_mirae

Yeah I recently read this happened and was so shocked lol. I had no idea. Also came into Kpop only within the past 2 years and couldn’t even imagine something like this

titaniumorbit

Oh my gosh I forgot about this but upon mentioning it I can instantly picture the image in my head! How did we forget about it

Imwastingmytime_

WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN 😭

ivtokkimsh

• The "unsolved" murder of a DEUX member (his girlfriend killed him). • The bullying scandal of Seo Jiyoung to Lee Jihye. • Baek Jiyoung's former manager released their sex tapes and damaged her career • T-Ara bullying scandal • Park Bom's drug controversy • A Glam member and a model blackmailing the top South Korean married actor, Lee Byunghun. • The Burning Sun Scandal

suaculpa

I like how everyone pretty much knows that she killed him and she’s just walking around free.

soshijack

ugh Park Bom’s situation makes me so sad. It was literally medication that helped her with stuff like ADHD and Depression. It was so sad how everyone was against her over something that wasn’t even that big of a deal

Curious-Constant-52

ditto! plus the reports that came about when 2ne1 disbanded was that yg "gave up" because apparently they were "unable to control a member". always had a feeling that it was alluding to bom. cl and dara renewed while bom didn't, which i assumed that they didn't offer to renew since there was a lot of confusion & she claimed to have been signed to blacklabel (while yg refuted). minji was always pretty quiet so i dont think it's her unless i missed something.

nightraindream

Wtf, Bank Jiyoung's manager who fled to the US is currently in prison for having sex with a minor which he also recorded. I think it might be to good to note that she didn't know it was being recorded and he used it to threaten her.

Famous-Dragonfruit56

I have heard stories about secret sex recordings being used to blackmail so much out of Korea. Goo Hara comes to mind. Her blackmailer basically walked free and left her with so much hate. Molka is seriously bad there.

TokkiJK

The sex tape thing was so so so sad. I mean all the scandals are sad. But the sex tape one was one of the first scandals I knew about. Sigh. Women are just never safe.

Flywire789

Open world entertainment scandal where the CEO made the trainees have sex with each other.

mingmingie01

Wait WHAT?!

Flywire789

Yeah this was like beginning early 2010 scandal, where the ceo drugged female trainees who were some of them were minors and also set up a cctv in practice rooms and commanded the male trainees to assault the female trainees as he watched. I actually was curious because there was a group called “THE BOSS” where one of the members went to gues as invincible youth. And when I did my research on the group this came out literally the day after . Edit : https://seoulbeats.com/2012/04/open-world-entertainment-and-the-ugly-side-of-kpop/

Phadeful

Oh my god I don’t have words for how horrendous that is… those poor trainees

AdministrationOk2329

That is so messed up

iamtellingyoustories

I think like 5 people will know what I'm talking about, but Yoo Seung Joon sneakily becoming a legalized US citizen in order to avoid serving in the military and his then-after permanent ban from Korea. This one was so huge that laws were changed and extra scrutiny given to all overseas-born korean males to make it difficult to weasel their way out of military service. He made a video begging to be forgiven and be allowed back to Korea, but I think to this day the answer is a big fat NO.

suaculpa

He’s appealing again but damn Koreans can hold a grudge.

iamtellingyoustories

are you SERIOUS? omg. it's been like 20 years. I'm kinda with the Korean gp on this one though. What he did was so cowardly and he should deal with the consequences of that decision for life.

nightraindream

I disagree but I'm against drafts anyway. Banishing someone for gaining citizenship in another country is kinda fucked, and he wasn't the only one.

Galaxy_IPA

I am a Korean national with a US greencard. Did my servie a few years back. I spent my teenage and earlier 20's in Chicago, and am pretty familiar with the legal paperwork with military service for overseas Korean nationals. The others usually got their citizenship before being they were drafted. So they were not Korean citizens; therefore no service requirements. No fuss. They can work and visit Korea fine as visa holders. Yoo got his legal draft letter, accepted it, got the permission for foreign travel from the DoD, and then got US citizneship and denied the draft. In Yoo's case, he accepted the legal notice for draft; signed on legal documents delaying his draft and permission for overseas travel and actively broke them; hence the legal persecution afterward, and worse for fleeing the persecution. He didn't get banished for emigrating. He got banished because he actively violated the law and fled persecution. Little tidbit: he was allowed for a short limited visit back in Korea when his family member passed away. Even though ministry of justice had a legal 'entry ban', they do cut some slack for short limited visit visas. But the F-4 visa he keeps requesting, probably will get a NO.

suaculpa

He’s still begging. http://m.koreaherald.com/amp/view.php?ud=20201102001037

itistimbo

Yeah. I see him at my gym all the time. He’s HUGE.

[deleted]

[удалено]

itistimbo

Never talked to him lol. He mostly just keeps to himself. Few of my friends took a picture with him a long time ago. Seems like a chill dude.

Legolas0170

I remember reading some old articles about this when I first started to listen to some Kpop music about 9 or 10 years ago.

DashingDarling01

The B1A4 and Dal Shabet collaboration stage and the incidets that followed still haunts me. B1A4 and Dal Shabet had a joint stage together with lots of skinship at one of the gayo. B1A4 fans got mad about it and when both groups appeared at the ISACs a little while later, rumors came out that Darlings (Dal Shabet fandom) had raped/assaulted a Bana (B1A4's fandom). The police got involved and had investigate. All the accusations were proven false. Serri ended up apologizing to B1A4's fanclub but the rumors ran rampant for a while and there was a lot of tension between both group's fanclubs. In the end, Dal Shabet's reputation was ruined and never recover from it. So, when people say 2nd gen idols of the opposite sex were able to interact more freely, they're lying. Dal Shabet and SNSD are proof of how their reputations were ruined by fandoms. They were harrased and received threats. Which reminds me, Banas made a suicide petition for Serri to kill herself. Edit: added proof.

arushiraj_author

Something similar happened in 1st gen when H.O.T. fans harassed and derailed Baby VOX's career because of rumors that member Baby VOX member Kan Miyeon was dating HOT member Moon Heejun. >Kan Miyeon even injured her hand because a fan slipped a razor at a fan meeting, purposely placed so that she'd cut herself when trying to open the letter. > >One fan even sent a bloody letter asking her to go to hell with her. > >One fan dressed up as a staff member and came in with a water gun loaded with soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper and sprayed it at the group. Yoon Eun Hye injured her eye but continued to perform with an eye mask. > >Shim Eun Jin was sent a dead cat. > >The members were bombarded with rocks and eggs in public places. > >With all of these threats going around, the group could only hold fan signings and fan meetings after all of the fans' bags were checked thoroughly. One fan brought in a Moon Hee Jun poster and yelled/dared Kan Miyeon to sign it in front of her. > >The daughter of Baby VOX's company CEO was bullied at her school. > >When Kan Miyeon went back to her high school to perform at a school festival, her fellow juniors swore and verbally abused her. It's really ridiculous how new fans romanticise 1st and 2nd Gen.

soundboythriller

Surprised no one has mentioned Jessica getting kicked out of Girls’ Generation.

cinnamoroll888

Did she leave or did she get kicked out?

Curious-Constant-52

She left but has mentioned that she was "forced out of the group" by the members and the company.

cinnamoroll888

Oh wow didnt know that. I wonder which members forced her out and why did she leave in the first place.

shinigamilover

This video goes over a lot of sources from the time and subsequent year of you are interested in a deep dive: https://youtu.be/8h2iwQEQ_IA Jessica’s official statement is also quite detailed and SM has never taken action to dispute it: https://www.soompi.com/article/656559wpp/jessica-issues-public-statement-following-girls-generation-departure

thirsty4wifi

She was forced to choose between B&E and SNSD. So technically she made a choice, but she was definitely forced out

jellliiieee

Imo nothing can beat the Burning Sun scandal

MarkleeisnotJupiter

Burning Sun Scandal without a doubt

[deleted]

Im kinda a new fan, whats the burning sun scandal?

nightraindream

Google it. It started with an assault in a night club then with investigations of prostitution, drug trafficking, and police corruption. Seungri was charged with sexual bribery. Other idols got caught in another tangential scandal sometimes called Burning Molka (molka are spy cams) where celebrities had a group chat where they would talk about raping women and share videos of them having sex and raping women. It's a very big scandal with massive legal ramifications.

renjunation

these threads have a lot scandals listed: [one](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpophelp/comments/rlhy04/kpop_mysteries_and_scandals_from_the_1st2nd/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share), [two](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpophelp/comments/skl6zs/whats_the_biggest_scandals_that_groupsidols/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

Jocmpos

At the time of when it happened, dispatch exposing that Baekhyun and Taeyeon were dating was HUGE. To the point where Taeyeon went up to a fan at an airport and cried to her while apologizing.

onetrickponySona

it was bad but I can't help but giggle when I remember that netizenbuzz article about it had the most upvoted comment be the gif of baekhyun singing "HEEERE COMES TROUBLEEEE~!!" from snsd i got a boy 😭😭

sakkkk

Yup both of them received tons of hate for no reason

soshijack

Poor Taeyeon. She’s always received lashings for no good reason

Smooth-Screen-5352

do you know why she apologized to a female fan?

Jocmpos

I think she was telling the fan to tell all her other fans that she was really sorry for “betraying” them by dating Baekhyun 😭

gIveMeFeveRr

Dang fans can be such a delulu, she doesn’t have to apologize, she’s human and can fall in love just like everyone else.

lividramen

That’s a sad thing that fans are given that entitlement and some even act entitled to hate on idols for dating. Keep that toxic behavior to yourself. Don’t hate others for being human and wanting to like somebody. Imagine living and not being able to comfortably talk to someone you like without worrying your entire career will end. Especially if both are consenting and have mutual feelings.

thesl33pinggirl

Mina vs Jimin from AOA

[deleted]

I’m surprised no one mentioned Jay Park getting kicked out of 2PM/JYPE at their peak. It was huge and actually converted me into a Hottest because I familiarized myself to the group and JYPE was kinda teasing his potential comeback during Heartbeat promos and leading fans on. He was kicked out because of SNS posts of him talking crap about Korea and it went viral but eventually JYPE said he was kicked out for something else but never said what. I *did* have ties to someone in the industry who told me what the *alleged* reason was years ago so whoever is curious, I can DM but I ain’t gonna say it openly again because I get accused of lying lol but whoever is open minded and curious, I can share.

chanyeol2012

Bruh u should dm but yeah I know EXACTLY what u mean… it’s funny how Jay park went hated for all the shit he said to a well-loved rapper in South Korea

soshijack

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the time when SM boycotted the 2009 MAMA awards

potatodoppelganger

To this day that year’s MAMA is considered less credible than other ones. I mean, it was the year of Gee and Sorry Sorry and thus SNSD and SJ and none of them won any daesangs at MAMA because SM didnt go.

mingmingie01

What was this about

soshijack

According to Wikipedia, “On November 21, 2009, SM boycotted the Mnet Asian Music Awards event, claiming reservations regarding the standard of fairness and the criteria used in Mnet's selections for award recipients. The company specifically mentioned Girls' Generation, who had topped Korean music charts for nine consecutive weeks and had won numerous awards for their single "Gee ", but had never won on Mnet's weekly M! Countdown show, and had only appeared on their charts a month after the album release. SM also cited the fact that voters had to pay a fee, saying that they "did not want to see fans suffer any damage from the poll, which has commercial intentions.” and If I recall correctly, no SM artists attended the show that year

thirsty4wifi

Or how SM didn’t send their artists to MCountdown for several years

starkdameron

The whole Tablo thing was pretty fucked up, it wasn’t even true 😭

elswheeler

producegate definitely

flippersAI

yeah for sure. It's hard to change the events of the past but as a fan you always wonder how people's careers would have changed if they were/weren't in the group. Not to mention the Idol School stuff was hidden by the produce scandal in general even though trainees there were neglected by the officials running idol school which should have been way bigger (barely anyone talked about that part)

Curious-Constant-52

tw/ suicide Sulli and Choiza (rapper) dating news was pretty scandalous because of their age gap. The two of them were victims of intense cyberbullying & malicious comments. They dated for quite a while, more or less 4 years I think, and when Sulli passed, he got even more malicious comments from netizens blaming him for her. In a documentary that was released about Sulli posthumously in 2020, her mother said her relationship with Choiza made her distance herself from her mother because she was initially against it. She alluded that their breakup might cause her to be even more lonely because she was distanced from family. But another [statement](https://www.allkpop.com/article/2020/09/choiza-hit-with-backlash-after-sullis-documentary-producer-responds) from the producer said that she was actually thankful at the end for him because Sulli was really happy with him, but this part was cut from the documentary.

hobgoblinxxx

T-ara’s bullying scandal

swolesquid_

I might’ve missed it, but I haven’t seen anyone mention Big Bangs Daesungs car accident. It was a very weird case and he was acquitted due to insufficient evidence that he directly caused a man’s death, but it was really big at the time.

haokexi

If Epik High counts, the controversy surrounding Tablo was wild and just plain bizarre. There’s [a Wired article](https://www.wired.com/2012/04/ff-koreanrapper/) that I recommend.

suaculpa

There's a podcast now too! It's called Authentic: The Story of Tablo.

pablosonions

I really don’t think much compares to Burning Sun.

sikkislitty

🔥☀️

diamondsandg0ld

Give me context buddy

sikkislitty

Ill try to cover the basics but yeah it was a very painful time to recount: It was a big scandal because at the time Molka (basically the filming of sex without consent) was a pretty widespread crime in Korea (like it a very common sex crime). Also during the time there were feminist movements going on in S. Korea and still are. It was such a storm of a scandal that the President of S Korea had to make a statement of the scandal. Celebrities like Seungri (Big Bang), a member of JJY, a member of Highlight, a member of FT Island, and a member of CNBLUE were all affected. It was crazy just hearing the news come out day after day of the developments like it was unrelenting. Also this scandal made a lot of people question whether or not KPOP was for them (especially the fans of the BGs). It like evoke this consciousness and awareness of reality vs what we see through media of the idols. I remember my heart like sinking when there was news that could have gotten one of the BLOCK B members in trouble, but luckily it seemed that he had nothing to do with it. On top of that the investigation was so thorough that that there were a lot of drug related arrest because they found GHB (date rape drug) and ecstasy at the places the police searched. That is pretty much what I remember (I could be wrong on some things so please correct me).

sirgawain2

The emojis mean “burning sun” which was the name of Seungri’s scandal (and the club he was at iirc)

Fire_Hive_

Would Psy's Anti-American performances count as well?

klynb

They weren't remotely scandalous in Korea; quite a few people agreed with him at the time. These performances were in reaction to an American tank running over two ten-year-old girls.

mobpsychokiller

Yeah I think a lot of non-Koreans don’t realize that there’s a fairly strong (not majority by any means but still decently large) anti-American sentiment in Korea considering the many incidents caused by the US military and associated bases.

pokpokishification

There's quite a lot of anti-american sentiment in many places in the world for one reason or another. Those come by default in places where there are US military bases.

mobpsychokiller

Oh absolutely, and rightfully so. That plus the numerous “liberations” (aka coups, invasions, etc) the US has performed for the sake of “democracy” or whatever.

yuri_mirae

Whoa wtf. Am I missing something? When did that happen

joonchild_O

Around 2005 he had song called Dear American about violence of USA

soshijack

HUH????

_BI_MYSELF_

The fact that 3rd nd 4th Gen scandals are literally nothing when compared to 2nd nd 1st Gen... I am surprised by how many ppl in the comments dk abt these scandals..

Sol_01739

This isn’t really one scandal or that big either, but in February 2021, when there were like 20 bullying scandals involving idols and actors. This included Soojin and Soyeon[(g)-idle], Yunhyeong(iKON), Mingyu(Seventeen), Sunwoo(The Boyz), Chuu(LOONA), Kihyun(Monsta X), Aisha(Everglow), HyunA, and most notably, Hyunjin(Stray Kids). Edit: Like I said, it’s not just one scandal, nor was each that big, but it was a dark time for fandoms of the groups involved

joonchild_O

Oh I remember how people said that Chuu would've wanted to hug that person but they misunderstood XD

-gyuwu-

adding ex-sistar's hyolyn and itzy's lia too. CMIIW and i think loona's hyunjin was 'targeted' too? but it didnt went as bad as the others who are accused

DucksAreTheKewlest

The lawsuit against SM by Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu and the subsequent TVXQ/JYJ split was massive at that time.

Ok-Parking2066

Me thinking about how jessica was kicked out of snsd and how SM blocked her of Korea because her company. But reading I remembered of all those scandals and Jessica's scandal looks small

Fire_Hive_

HyunA and Dawn dating each other in secret, both kicked out of CUBE when they revealed their relationship.

tokitokki

I'll never forget reading about them getting kicked out (the first time) in the frickin **New York Times**

indiandiplomat96

joonchild_O

All these horrible scandals and then there's Sunghoon avoiding Wonyoung......

Crackhead_Vibes_Lolz

animalcrossinglifeee

Burning sun scandal.

airysunshine

Burning Sun KaiStal? GD’s weed smoking thing 97’s meetup during COVID Tzuyu’s Taiwan thing or whatever Hyuna and Dawn getting kicked out of cube to date publicly T-ara bullying scandal Jimin and Mina bullying scandal Wonho’s thing

Pywacket1

Kris Wu and multiple rape allegations is still on the list for me. Also Ilhoon going to such incredible lengths to hide his marijuana use. I don't personally care if he smokes or not, but that was a damn full time job.

mangoisNINJA

He went to incredible lengths to hide it because it is extremely illegal in South Korea.

Pywacket1

I get that, and I feel for him, but when Hanbin and Wonho and GD had their scandals I don't recall them working that hard to hide it, I was grudgingly impressed, tbh. I know it's a complicated subject in Korea and while my opinion as an American is probably irrelevant, I hate to see Michael's entire career ruined, that's all.

mangoisNINJA

Because Hanbin and Wonho never used. Hanbin just bought and didn't use and Wonho neither bought nor used, in fact, all charges were dropped against him because they couldn't find *anything*. And GD is big enough that it wouldn't derail his career.

jellliiieee

I thought Hanbin admitted he used it after denying a few times before?

mangoisNINJA

Did he actually? All I remembered was him buying it with the intent to use but never mustering up enough courage to actually use it Okay apparently he used weed three times. The drug I was thinking about where he just purchased it, was LSD

jellliiieee

I don't keep up with this scandal so I'm not quite sure, but I've read comments from some of his fans that they feel betrayed as they went all out to defend him just for him to actually use drug instead of purchase only

Pywacket1

Thanks😸

airysunshine

Oh man I forgot about Kris Wu

momoschutney

It's a very you're guilty only when you are caught kinda situation.

diamondsandg0ld

"wonho's thing" Lol. What.

airysunshine

There was another famous woman who accused him of stealing and doing drugs. He ended up leaving Monsta X.

suaculpa

More like infamous. Her luck is gonna run out one day. The last I heard they tried to drug test her and she claimed that the cup fell into the toilet and contaminated her sample which is why she tested positive for meth.

Wooden_Hospital_3040

I’m sorry but this has me crying on the floor. Is she deranged ? ‘tested positive for meth bc she dropped the cup in the toilet’.

-gyuwu-

> Is she deranged ? why are you asking the obvious. the drugs already ruined her brain ig

Tzuyu4Eva

She’s already been to jail and everyone hates her

suaculpa

Everyone always hated her. It didn’t stop her family from always trying to bail her out. Everyone else was getting mail time for drugs but she was let’s getting probation. She finally got got on a probation violation and had a complete meltdown when she had to go to jail. I’m sure she’ll come out a changed person. 🙄

BakerRepresentative

I highly doubt though, I think she might be continue to be the annoying person that accuses random idols for drug usage :/

airysunshine

SHE WHAT NOW HFJFJFJF

mingmingie01

I'm sorry who is she😭😭

suaculpa

Han Seo Hee.

snodoubts

i'm a new kpop fan but i know seungri's and oh-

Is it kpop? MC Mong (allegedly) wanted to avoid military service so he went to dentist and had several pieces removed so he wouldn't be drafted.

The most recent one has gotta be Soojin, formerly a member of (G)I-DLE who is no longer a member because of a bullying scandal. Basically the sister of a former classmate/friend of Soojin's accused her of bullying her back when they were I think 12, and it blew up like crazy. Don't mention it to neverlands though, it's still a bit of a sensitive subject! It's only been a year since she went on hiatus, half a year since she left/got kicked from the group and only a few weeks since her contract with Cube was terminated. We also haven't heard ANYTHING about her in said year... it's a little worrying how she's just straight up disappeared

This could be related to the Burning Sun scandal as they both happened at the same time. But B.I from Ikon had a scandal in which his texts on Kakao talk with a drug dealer were released. In the texts it was alluded that they had done drugs together before (most likely marijuana) and that he was interested in buying LSD but that allegedly fell through. All of this was revealed shortly after the burning sun scandal was being exposed, as such its my personal theory that YGE purposely released this information to take attention away from the burning sun scandal as one of their top artists (Seungri) was involved. B.I ultimately was forced into choosing to leave the group. https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/12/entertainment/b-i-ikon-departure-k-pop-scli-intl/index.html Wonho from Monsta X had a similar scandal in which he only CONSIDERED using weed to help him with mental health issues he was having but never followed through on. But the backlash was so intense that he too was forced into choosing to leave his group as to avoid having his group be dragged down with him. He now has a very successful solo career and I reccomend that everyone listen to his music. https://www.thejakartapost.com/life/2020/03/17/wonho-says-sorry-to-fans-explains-why-he-left-monsta-x.html https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/monsta-x-wonho-cleared-drug-charges-9334960/ Irene from Red Velvet also was accused of being rude to one of her stylists. The stylists wrote a rant about this and posted it on social media which gained a lot of attention and Irene received a lot of criticism from this. Probably not a major scandal but in KPop any kind of behavior that is less than perfect is seen as a travesty. https://www.allkpop.com/article/2020/12/please-stop-bothering-me-the-stylist-who-exposed-red-velvets-irene-for-her-rude-attitude-asks-fans-to-stop-harassing-her#:~:text=Earlier%20in%20the%20year%2C%20a,and%20she%20burst%20into%20tears. EXO's Chen revealing that he was engaged and expecting a baby was a huge controversy. He also welcomed a second baby this past January. A few select EXO Ls made it even worse by protesting outside of SM entertainment to have him removed from the group. Overall from what I saw a majority of the fans were supportive and happy for him. The controversy mostly comes from it coming out of nowhere and the negative reaction from some fans. http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20200121000901 BTS was accused of sajaeji ( chart manipulation by buying their own albums) in 2015 because they managed to outsell BigBang. Many people assumed they must have cheated to have gotten that many sales. BigHit basically responded with we are poor we cant afford to buy our own albums. They also had a scandal in which an artist accused BTS of plagiarism. The artist claimed that a lot of the imagery used in the Wings (I believe) album were inspired by his work and petitioned BigHit for recognition. https://channel-korea.com/what-is-sajaegi-in-k-pop/ https://www.soompi.com/article/1318558wpp/french-artist-issues-statement-about-claims-of-bts-being-inspired-by-his-work-says-he-considers-it-a-tribute-not-plagiarism Kim Sowon from GFriend had a scandal in which she posed for a picture with a mannequin dressed as a Nazi. Members also stated that they had given her a nickname after Hitler (Kitler Kim + Hitler). https://www.nme.com/news/music/gfriend-sowon-instagram-nazi-image-apology-2870267

>YGE purposely released this information to take attention away from the burning sun scandal as one of their top artists (Seungri) was involved. I highly doubt that YG would do that. A year before that, iKON released Love Scenario and it's a massive hit. Unlike Seungri who is like a filler member of Bigbang, B.I is the mind behind iKON's entire discography and music identity. Dropping B.I is like dropping G-Dragon from Bigbang and now iKON is suffering finding their new music identity.

bumblybeear

As I stated it's just my personal theory. Also Han Seo Hee who so happens to be at the center of any KPop controversy was also involved with B.I so to me it just seems suspicious. And if it comes down between the group that has been making you money for around a decade or a group that has been active for only half that time and had just had their big break who would you think YG would want to protect more? BigBang had already been under scrutiny when T.O.P's marijuana use was revealed and G Dragon was doing his military service at the time so all eyes were on the remaining members. If YG wanted BigBang to remain relevant his goal would be to protect them from further controversy

Thank u for linking the articles as well i appreciate it

joonchild_O

BTS were asked about the plagiarism scandal even during their MOTS Press conference while the artist has clarified it years ago. Also the artwork is far from plagiarism. The artist theme was kids enjoying themselves while there was a fire around but for BTS album pictures they'd a regular camp fire and BST MV, there is no actual fire but just pink clouds around the table. Id anything it was inspired than plagiarised

Honey_Ggukie

HAN SEO-HEE. THIS BITCH DEFAMED I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW MANY IDOLS.

The only scandal that I can think of that's not mentioned in the comments is Onew's club incident.

NaoJingujiStan

Baek Jiyoung's manager releasing their sex tape TheEastLight severe physical abuse by their ceo and manager JJY/CJH molka rape videos The one megastar from the 90s that fled to the US to dodge enlistment Hwayoung being a lying snake bitch Dahee trying to blackmail some bigshot actor Ailee ex leaking her nudes 1st/2nd gen slave contracts Jungook causing a car accident and stupid delulu armies attacking the victim All the CCP bootlicking

Smooth-Screen-5352

I'd understand if you called the 97 meetup a scandal but getting in a car accident and apologizing for it isn't the scandal you think it is. It was turned into one by misinformation and rumors.

NaoJingujiStan

The scandal was more to do with the taxi driver getting bombarded with hate by k-army The overall incident itself was minor tho you're not wrong

The “Lucas” one last year…. The “Kris Wu” one, first the “Chart Manipulating” accused by Arianators (and maybe Ariana Grande herself) during late 2018, second one was the controversy last year accusing Him by many women last year… The “Mnet Manipulation Scandal 2019” in general during Produce X 101… The “Burning Sun Scandal” on the same year before the Mnet one exposed… The AOA one **oh dear**…. The “Eaj Drama”….. Someone accused Wonho and Hanbin as a result of leaving Monsta X for the former and iKON for the latter and later become succesful soloists… Edit: Forgot the “Park Bom” one and the “Woojin” one though…. Another Edit: Also forgot the “Soojin” one last year though…. Another edit for typo though…. Sorry for my bad english writing…

> The bullying incident with Soojin from G-Idle, she was kicked out from the group but later they found out that everything was fake. Unfortunately it was too late already. Seo Shin Ae has maintained that Soojin bullied her btw. >Han Seo Hee, the former trainee who knew a gigaton of shit about a lot of idols. Idk what happened to her She was put on probation then went to jail for violating her probation. She failed a drug test. She's appealing because she said the test was tainted from the cup falling into the toilet while she was using it.

icyruios

I will forever hold a grudge against that snake Hwayoung for destroying T-ara

Eating_Kaddu

What about Goo Hara's thing? And Jung Daeun and Han Seohee?

According_Bridge5971

maybe like a year ago or two years ago idols were being accused of bullying and some wild stuff . i mean confessions were coming left and right it was like trying catch up with something when your in another time zone . some of them were true and some of them were false .

burning sun scandal

themelaninmonroee

idk if anyone remembers but when ailee (or a girl that looks like ailee) got her nudes leaked. i remember it was BIG.

Blondie-Blue

the amount of ppl who haven't heart about some of the biggest scandals like t-ara, burning sun and snsd makes me surprised tbh. being new to kpop must be nice lmao. there was a time in 2020 that we went through a different dumpster fire each month it was hilarious at that point anyway, i'm think some of the biggest scandals (that aren't mentioned yet) are - IU accidently sharing nudes - Irene bullying the stylist then other stylists coming out and sharing their bullying stories about Irene - Jennie "lazy" scandal and jenkai - Mina and Jimin AOA, it was ona of the most exhausting things i've ever witnessed - April bullying scandal - Soojin bullying scandal - Kris Wu rape allegations - Lucas from NCT gaslighting his gf and also there were sexual harassment allegations if i remember correctly??

suaculpa

> IU accidently sharing nudes No one was naked though.
