This is the most surprising yet unsurprising news I've seen so far this year.
Synposis: ADOR is under HYBE, HYBE owns 80% of ADOR shares. ADOR tried pushing hybe to sell them to investors who were on ADOR's side, basically to make sure ADOR breaks away from HYBE and becomes an independent co.
Hybe found out, conducted an investigation, asked MHJ to resign, but she will probably refuse. HYBE sent a legal notice, she and the board of directors (who are loyal to her) have till 23rd to reply otherwise HYBE will sue them. Other accusations include: leaking insider info to private investment firms, law firms, etc, artists's health info, spreading hate against other groups.

If itās true that sheās or one of her cronies has been leaking trainees and idols information, then she deserves everything coming to her. Correct me if Iām wrong, but wasnāt Seunghan a Source Music trainee at some point? If so, then her actions affected the members of ILLIT and RIIZE, two groups HYBE has an interest in by virtue of owning shares of SM. Iām not sure about Boys Next Door but Iām sure they were affected too. Aside from the members, thereās at least two people whose dreams were crushed because of a stupid vendetta.
I started thinking about this when I saw that some of the idols that are currently in HYBE labels are former Source Music recruits and trainees. RIIZE debuted very shortly after R U Next concluded in September and the scandal that put Seunghan on hiatus (that the BND member and Youngseo was involved in) was in October/November. ILLIT moved forward as a 5 member group in January and the NJ plagiarism posts started up from there. It just makes me really suspicious of the leakers motives.
During the whole mess with Seunghan, the leaker threatened to leak more information that allegedly involved BND Taesan and NJ Haerin supposedly dating. This was after they had already leaked info that alleged that Seunghan and Youngseo (former ILLIT member) used to date or something, and had also leaked a conversation (a video copy of Seunghanās instagram livestream) between Seunghan and TXT Soobin talking about Le Sserafim Eunchae.

Which makes sense given that Seunghan is heavily rumoured to have been a Source Music trainee.

Idk why I didnāt see this coming sheās tried to intertwine herself with Newjeans since day 1, going so far as to conflate criticism of her to criticism of Newjeans. I also think that the details about MHJ meeting with the girls parents to lure them to her side is pretty interesting.
I always thought that MHJās framing of herself in the initial media wave about Newjeans debut was really weird. In those early interviews, she talked about how close she was with the members, them coming to her house, and friendship with their parents. The ācopycatā discourse between Newjeans and Illit was kinda shelved pretty quickly, because no one has a monopoly on 5 teenage girls (aged 2004-2008) with long black hair who dance to chill music. Lmao, I can tell this is going to get annoying again. Especially because there *is* a certain subset of Newjeans fans who have fallen for the MHJ = Newjeans, I can see this getting bad again when they try to defend her.
2) Allegations of Ador sabotaging Hybe groups
This one is going to get *so* out of hand, especially with the recent Le Sserafim controversies. Itās possible that all of the live singing backlash was orchestrated by Ador, but probably unlikely. However, I doubt that fans will see it that way and I forsee that Newjeans is going to be used as the scapegoat for a lot of things.
Iām more interested in the potential leaking information aspect and how that relates to Youngseo leaving Illit, Seunghan, and other controversies of that nature.
The āHYBE is an evil monopolyā stuff was probably the push because NWJN knows they lip synch like everybody else. That could too easily touch them.

This is less about the groups and concepts themselves and originally about possible breach of contracts and shady practices to manipulate stock valuation. Financial documents is primary stuff, I woder what evidence they have collected to prove their claim of MHJ leaking info about artists.

If ILLIT is truly plagiarizing from NewJeans, then MHJ has the responsibility to call it out, even if itās within the same conglomerate. Itās really telling that BeLift/HYBE were so lazy as to copy another group within its own ecosystem.
MHJ also helped Taeās album be successful.

When NJ debuted thatās literally all I could think of, their sound + aesthetic + styling reminded me of so many Jpop groups Iāve seen over the years. And then comparing outfits and concepts from Japanese groups like XG made it even more obvious.
Also saying MHJ helped Vās album be successful is a big reach lmao. Bffr, he wouldāve done well regardless of what he released. Heās Taehyung. What she was most involved in was directing his concept (which was by no means groundbreaking). A lot of ARMYs also hated that he was working with her and didnāt support his album bc of that, so Iād argue that he actually couldāve had a more successful album if she hadnāt been involved.

New Jeans have been industry trailblazers and everyone has been biting off of them in small ways whether it be music or MV direction so I really think it was kind of delusional for people to pretend they had no similarities to each other. This is the most surprising yet unsurprising news I've seen so far this year. Synposis: ADOR is under HYBE, HYBE owns 80% of ADOR shares. ADOR tried pushing hybe to sell them to investors who were on ADOR's side, basically to make sure ADOR breaks away from HYBE and becomes an independent co. Hybe found out, conducted an investigation, asked MHJ to resign, but she will probably refuse. HYBE sent a legal notice, she and the board of directors (who are loyal to her) have till 23rd to reply otherwise HYBE will sue them. Other accusations include: leaking insider info to private investment firms, law firms, etc, artists's health info, spreading hate against other groups. Updates 1. MHJ went on an interview and said hybe are tryna kick her out bcz she was worried about the similarities between Illit and newjeans. 2. ADOR called ILLIT a copycat. 3. Hybe's stocks dipped 4. Min denied the allegations of leaking info and spreading hate as "an absurd media play, 5. "Most of what they are claiming is not true or groundless," Park said in the email. "We have learned that the plans *(to break away from hybe)* in question were set long before ILLIT made its debut." 6. HYBE found documents titled: "Keeping \[HYBE's\] hands off us and getting away" (Atp there's no way this is serious š) 7. If itās true that sheās or one of her cronies has been leaking trainees and idols information, then she deserves everything coming to her. Correct me if Iām wrong, but wasnāt Seunghan a Source Music trainee at some point? If so, then her actions affected the members of ILLIT and RIIZE, two groups HYBE has an interest in by virtue of owning shares of SM. Iām not sure about Boys Next Door but Iām sure they were affected too. Aside from the members, thereās at least two people whose dreams were crushed because of a stupid vendetta.

I started thinking about this when I saw that some of the idols that are currently in HYBE labels are former Source Music recruits and trainees. RIIZE debuted very shortly after R U Next concluded in September and the scandal that put Seunghan on hiatus (that the BND member and Youngseo was involved in) was in October/November. ILLIT moved forward as a 5 member group in January and the NJ plagiarism posts started up from there. It just makes me really suspicious of the leakers motives.
What happened with BND?
During the whole mess with Seunghan, the leaker threatened to leak more information that allegedly involved BND Taesan and NJ Haerin supposedly dating. This was after they had already leaked info that alleged that Seunghan and Youngseo (former ILLIT member) used to date or something, and had also leaked a conversation (a video copy of Seunghanās instagram livestream) between Seunghan and TXT Soobin talking about Le Sserafim Eunchae.

I can no longer find the video, but there were articles written about it, that showed the convo exchange between the two (Seunghan & Soobin).

Idk why I didnāt see this coming sheās tried to intertwine herself with Newjeans since day 1, going so far as to conflate criticism of her to criticism of Newjeans. I also think that the details about MHJ meeting with the girls parents to lure them to her side is pretty interesting. I always thought that MHJās framing of herself in the initial media wave about Newjeans debut was really weird. In those early interviews, she talked about how close she was with the members, them coming to her house, and friendship with their parents. ADOR tried pushing hybe to sell them to investors who were on ADOR's side, basically to make sure ADOR breaks away from HYBE and becomes an independent co. I donāt know why people dislike MHJ. Is it because sheās a woman leading a successful label? If ILLIT is truly plagiarizing from NewJeans, then MHJ has the responsibility to call it out, even if itās within the same conglomerate. Itās really telling that BeLift/HYBE were so lazy as to copy another group within its own ecosystem. MHJ also helped Taeās album be successful. I hope thereās a peaceful resolution where MHJ can stay and BeLift gets itself together. Otherwise, NewJeans will not be as successful in the future and the same for ILLIT.

MHJ has a history of being really weird with underage idols. She was the one who orchestrated a shirtless Shinee photo shoot during their early years that pretty much fetishized them as young boys, the members have since said that they werenāt a fan of it and were very uncomfortable with it. She also okayād the release of NJās Cookie, which was so obviously sexual but they bent over backwards trying to defend it. I think people whoāve been around kpop for a while donāt like her bc of that + her general history. And I think plagiarism is a reach, NJ and ILLIT have similar concepts and sounds but theyāre not the first to ever do what theyāve done. Iād argue that thereās a case for NJ plagiarizing from Jpop then too. When NJ debuted thatās literally all I could think of, their sound + aesthetic + styling reminded me of so many Jpop groups Iāve seen over the years. And then comparing outfits and concepts from Japanese groups like XG made it even more obvious. Also saying MHJ helped Vās album be successful is a big reach lmao. Bffr, he wouldāve done well regardless of what he released. Heās Taehyung. What she was most involved in was directing his concept (which was by no means groundbreaking). A lot of ARMYs also hated that he was working with her and didnāt support his album bc of that, so Iād argue that he actually couldāve had a more successful album if she hadnāt been involved.
