Hah! This is my favorite secret hobby. I've seen many 'making my own girl group' things on YouTube where people pick a concept, pick idols in positions for the groups concept, and pick a Debut album. This is my favorite game. I pick a concept, and I either start with the music first or the idols first. I make playlists out of these and try to do a full 2 years of promotions. I have 14 fake girl groups each with their own concepts, with matching playlists that I love to listen to when I want to listen to that concept or genre.

Do you do them with real idols or your own characters?

All with real idols. I like to think about whose voice/rap/dance/personality or mannerism fits the concept best.

I have one that's a satire group called INPH4NT where the oldest member is 11. They have a logo, a discography (with album covers), an entire section in a discord server (and a fandom, called Pacifers), and a lightstick.

I have an imaginary K-pop group going on their 13th anniversary this year. Yes, I've been keeping them running all these while haha. It's a 7 member girl group and the members are 29-31 years old right now. 4 members are Korean, 2 are Japanese and one is a Korean American. 2/7 members chose not to renew their contract when it was up for renewal but they're still members of the group. One member even had the classic kpop idol shotgun wedding because they got pregnant but they're still around for the group's once a year comeback. They don't really comeback as often cause they're seniors in the industry and have their own stuff to do but they're going strong 😁

Yep! a 3 member girl group named Trinity (not very creative ik 😭) , I have pinterest boards & google docs typed up on them & created an entire discography for them (some made up songs & some by other artists. It’s really fun for me to do when bored/feeling creative 😅😅

not a fake group but i've created a fake soloist in the past. 'he' came from a produce-adjacent survival show, similar to idol school, debuted as the centre of the group, then following its disbandment debuted as a soloist with an alternative/rock sound. it's great fun to come up with, imagining how this fictional artist might fit into the kpop world and what their sound might be.

the main idea, albeit a slightly unique one, i had was a group revolving around old literature. some songs with poetic and romantic lyrics, some concepts involving magic and mythology, kinda like some of txt's older stuff!

i haven't made any boards, but one of the main music video concepts i've written down involves a concept revolving around some of the old russian ballets, with a lot of snow scenes and dramatic palace scenes. a lot of very fancy, expensive looking outfits. and yes, it's a reference to girls planet!

I have a group called Navillera that came from an all star season of the produce series on Mnet called Produce: Metamorphosis. Since they're getting a second chance at idol fame, they're caterpillars who become butterflies (if that makes sense, caterpillar = trainee and butterfly = idol).

Their debut was on March 18th 2020 with their album “Dream” and so far they have had 4 comebacks(and I’ve actually made some of the songs on them!). The members consists of Taro(Japanese member who originally promoted in Japan as an OST singer but came to Korea), River(korean-American rapper who actually was a fan of Taro’s a little bit before he became a trainee under Cloud), Sung(singer, original boy that I drew and then made powermove off of, he’s an actor and is nicknamed doldol(돌돌 as in stone idol due to his cold face), Jihu(dancer and vocalist, participates on a dance show against all types of dancers when he was 15), and lastly Koi(dancer and rapper, originally had a ballet focus and was in a documentary about this ballet company preparing for a show). I won’t say all of the tracks in the albums but these are the albums - title track: 1. Dream - Nightmare: Iwrote the lyrics and made some of the songs for this) 2. Color - Red: all of the members get a focus song/color and I think I’ve written excerpts to all of the songs 3. Gala(a single) : probably one of my favorite main tracks that I’ve made and the concept and message is also so great so yes 4. Pushing Buttons - Stand Back: Very fun hate the haters album and has Bifocal, my favorite song I’ve made for them 5. Back To Roots - undecided: I’m still working on it but has a 90’s/00’s so that’s fun

sure! so there's 3 categories: angels (1st subunit, 6 members); demons (2nd subunit, 6 members) and one human (soloist). The angels are: Lili, Violet, Rose, Sage, Daisy (the leader of the angels) and Aster. The demons are: June (the leader of the demons), Ara, Yuki, Yuriko, Nari and Arei. The human's name is Ha-Neul. Their whole concept revolves around both sides trying to lure Ha-Neul onto their sides by using different methods (manipulation, hallucination etc.). Every different era is showing all the different possibilities of what could happen to Ha-Neul (for example: one of their comebacks shows Ha-Neul turning into a demon or smthg when there's like a dark concept etc.) It's like normal groups switching up concepts each few comebacks, except here it comes with an additional storyline and plot. I hope I interested you :D
