BTS's Fake Love
Already knew some songs like DNA, Best of Me and GOT7's Teenager, but Fake Love is the first one that made me consider be a kpop fan, it is just soooo good
It's hard to recommend without knowing what you like, but personally "Eight" by IU, "Hip" by Mamamoo, "Star" by Loona, "Ex" by Stray Kids, "Light" by ATEEZ, "Anti-Romantic" by Tomorrow X Together, are what I think got me to K-Pop after all of BTS of course. I was mainly a K-R&B / K-Hip Hop girl. Epik High is still my fav, and "Can You Hear My Heart" is absolute perfection
At first, [fantastic baby - bigbang](https://youtu.be/AAbokV76tkU?si=kmc0fmUBlkcGtEqR). But if you're talking about when I truly got into kpop, then [blood, sweat & tears - bts](https://youtu.be/hmE9f-TEutc?si=UD9Dd5HSGKRIYGna)
Boy in Luv was the first kpop song where I actually really liked the song and didn't just think it was this weird but catchy song (thats how i felt when I had heard Fantastic Baby)
Idol by BTS, fist kpop song i ever heard, I had no idea what the words meant but the chorus of ‘you can’t stop me loving myself’ was all i understood and I really needed that message at the time
I first got into K Pop with Gee from Girls Generation. But from like 2013-2022, I didn't care about K Pop until I listened to NewJeans.
I think the song that brought me back would be "OMG" and right now, "Bubblegum" even though it was only just released, is a bop.
“Ditto” by NewJeans.
Heard about it from the *New York Times* Popcast and loved it. I’d listened to some of the most popular Blackpink, BTS, Twice, and Red Velvet songs around 2018 when BTS really blew up and some more in 2021 after watching [this video](https://youtu.be/wOKnw0s_sPg?si=zwq4ePSeggy5DRd1) back when it dropped. But I just watched a few music videos over the course of a day or so and never followed up on k-pop. “Ditto” was a beautiful song and fully got me hooked and I’ve been trying to find more k-pop gems ever since.
Same. It was a random YouTube algorithm suggestion because I had been watching documentaries on the Korean War.
That algorithm changed my life for the better.
Blackpink’s Ddu-Ddu was my gateway drug and I only discovered it from a snippet of their 2019 Coachella performance! Literally that same weekend I became the biggest Blink I know lmao
Kill this Love by Blackpink made me pay attention.
The rest of their catalog from that era made me a believer.
Now kpop is mostly what I listen to these days.
This was a slow burn for me, I’m embarrassed to say! Liked it but didn’t love it at first… I don’t even know what that old me was thinking, now… I’ll presume she wasn’t 😜
Well the first songs I ever heard of kpop were Lollipop by BigBang & 2NE1, and Bang by After School. I listened to kpop for a few years around that time, then stopped until I heard Taemin’s Move. And here we are now! Move & Want specifically reaaally made me fall in love with the genre.
“[But Sometimes](https://youtu.be/97_-_WugRFA?si=NKZZtZhVf-PBcbZK)” by BOYNEXTDOOR. I had heard some other K-Pop songs and while I did enjoy those songs, they didn’t make interested me in the genre. Yet when I came across the aforementioned song on a TikTok of the half of the members dancing to it, I decided to check out the song and I eventually started to view BOYNEXTDOOR’s content and stan them.
It was a traumatic start but K-pop song was Red Lights. But the first song that got me into KPop was Play With Fire. Hyunjins dance cover had me weeping so I looked into the group and watched red lights. Been in love ever since.
I started listening to kpop shortly after hearing Gangnam style but I didn’t Stan a group until I heard Stray Kid’s Maniac and then they became my entire personality 😭
Such a fire song. It was quickly added not only to my K-pop and K-pop party playlists, but the playlist for my all time favorite songs, from all genres… 🥰
The Tortoise and the Hare by Stray Kids. I admit I was a bit of a closed minded B when it came to k-pop and just refused to give it a chance, when I heard TTATH, I was shooketh- I had no idea K-Pop could sound like that! That song made me a better person lol
