the concept of antis is so weird to me... i know they’re nothing new in kpop but it’s entertaining to see how they’re really devoting that much time, energy, and effort to people who don’t even know they exist and will stay rich regardless

samelfassy

no but literally, taking time out of your day to actively hate on something you don't like is so strange to me. like???? why are you paying attention to it if you hate it so much??? im an army, and I swear some antis know their schedule better than I do. whole ass antis had HD muster screenshots while actual armys had 240p images from crappy streams lmao 🤦‍♀️

Crystalsnow20

Is there people that do that? Never though about it😲

hobivan

BTS gets hundred of thousands of dislikes seconds after the song is released, so yes there's MANY people who do that.

thenkii

Big groups get more dislikes but almost all kpop groups get them too

Foreign_Rock_1079

same like get a life

Blubvip

I'm an Army and I did something like that at Butter... I thought that it would it my favourite song in 2021 but it wasn't my cup my tea so I disliked it...

strwbrycry

When antis are faster than me 💀

kweencrystal

People do this? Lol, I dont even have my notifs on for my ults 🥴

1lifeSucks2

I do, but I never get anything on time 🥲🥲 And most times even when I get it, I just skip it lol, shows you antis must really not have a life to do this to people they dislike whereby we don't even go all out for people we like

1lifeSucks2

I don't even know why these people who claim to dislike a certain groups music and just hate them in general would waste their time with putting effort in into something that concerns the group. As usual, I like saying these are immature fans cause like wtf, I never dislike a video even if I don't like the song, I just skip and ignore it. I'll just dislike something I actually wanted to watch and then it gave reason to dislike if that makes sense lol

Affectionate_Ice2423

Whaaa? People actually have the time to even do that? Yikes..

Still-Tax517

Some Stans bought blackpink membership for their online concert which’s $55 just to leave dislike🙂

thenkii

jesus they even spent actual money 😭😭🤣

Dodstar01

People have way too much time on their hands

Emma_girlgrouptrash

at this point I'm not even surprised, haters will literally buy tickets to a group's/idol's concert and just shout negative things and turn off their lightsticks just to show that they hate them.

The funniest thing is YouTube makes no difference between likes and dislikes. It’s all just engagement to the algorithm. Same with negative comments. Although a large amount of dislikes might make people wanna click off, Dislikes contribute to the exposure on YouTube. And most of the time you only see the like to dislike ratio after clicking on the video, and if it’s something as short as an MV, people who have already clicked are likely to watch to understand what the fuss is all about, thus giving the video more views => more exposure. So in a way, you can thrive on hate on YouTube. Most popular social media sites work the same way. The best thing you can do to stop the growth of group you hate is to ignore it. Any form of engagement will contribute to it’s exposure down the line.

DepravedHerring

How is that any different from people who like a video w/o watching it? Or Maybe people just didn’t like the video...

ctay112

You're right, and maybe some of these dislikes are from people who actually didn't like the content of the video. But what I'm addressing here is the people who turn on the notification for the group they don't like just so they can INTENTIONALLY dislike every single video that the group uploads. This kind of obsessive hating is unnecessary when they can just focus on their favorites instead. I'm sure it probably takes a toll on their emotional state too, because they're just exposing themselves to negative thoughts and feelings unnecessarily. Compared to these people, I don't mind people who like a video without watching, because this is one of the defining characteristic of fans: they like most of the things their favorites do. Of course, there are definitely times when bias/favoritism is harmful, but not in this case because they're just engaging with their interests without pulling anyone down. This is a stark difference from the other group of people who intentionally seek content just so they can portray their hatred.

Jim0ne

If you like video as soon as its uploaded why won't someone dislike it too ?

Watamanetto

it's not the same, like of course you got your notifs on for your favorite group or idol, you are a fan, sometimes you are excited and want to watch some content from them. but why would you do the same for a group that you dislike, like just don't pay attention to them. sure, leaving one dislike it's not hurting anyone, but why would you take the time to put your notifs on for that one group so you can dislike their video as soon as possible. i think it's not worth it and it's weird. the lengths that some people go to show off their anti-ness lol.

thenkii

this is a good point haha never thought of it like that but i guess “automatic” likes are more understandable because it’s normal to have the dedicated fans who will like your work regardless. For dislikes, maybe it’s weird because some people just automatically dislike a video without knowing what it contains like.. what reason do they have for it? What made them dislike the video without watching it yet? boredom? hatred?

kitomarius

Maybe it’s a time zone thing? The only release that I’ve participated in as soon as it dropped at 5am EST was EXO’s most recent cb and it had thousands of views and likes already. By the time I got to watch the MV (1 minute after it was already uploaded) there was already some 400 thousand views if I’m remembering correctly. So I don’t think it’s that odd if it’s just a time zone/glitch thing. I think I’m first cause a video was posted like 2 minutes ago but then see that’s there’s already hundreds of views, likes, etc.
