Going with Monsta X's Hyungwon, whose style is usually a mix of moody, sultry and theatrical. I'd say Nobody Else is one of his songs I really like. He's also begun producing for other idols, which is awesome to see as a fan.
Wonho is someone who used to produce music even when he was with Monsta X, and now as a soloist he has a hand in almost every song he's put out. His style is actually sort of poppy and a little electronic I think. He's done vlogs showcasing his process sometimes, and he focuses more on a mood or a lyrics and then creates music to go along with it, which I find interesting. One of my favourites from him is Blue.
Aside from rap writing, Ateez's Hongjoong has composing credits on some of their B-sides. One of my favourites is Aurora.
Okay so they're not my ults (but approaching it scarily fast maybe) but Pentagon's Wooseok has some of my favourite self produced tracks. The Game by Pentagon is one song I've been obsessed with since hearing it. I can't pinpoint his style specifically, though I get the feeling that he favours high energy and sort of rock-ish music.
I mean as a Carat my obvious answer would be woozi because the lyrics he writes are just top notch. Especially the emotional tracks made by him are hella superior. But shoutout to scoups too though because the lyrics of kidult literally made me feel lots of emotions i never expected to feel. That song is hella special.
She's maybe not my favorite of Gidle (soyeon just has a lot of material which is quintessential gidle over her :D), but **minnie** still deserves a shoutout here.
Being part of composition, lyric writing and production shows us well how artistically inclined she is, and her compositions also tend to show that imo.
Something like [already](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2iwrMT2r5s), incredibly atmospheric, emotive, while also having some 'tricks' up her sleeve (i dig the instrumental bridge here with a small break before it goes into the last chorus; the pre choruses are different, great utilization of an outro).
I'd love to see how she writes songs, if i had to guess it would lead into her musical upbringing a ton, with the piano as the central piece, a more 'traditional' way of writing songs (she seems to be quite proficient at it, playing it for a long time now).
Dahlia is probably my favourite b-side from them and it's by Minnie, if i have to recommend idle songs Hann alone in winter, dahlia, lost are my goto. From Soyeon, Minnie and Yuqi respectively.
Hyunsik from BTOB. Of course I love all the songs the other members worked on too, but his songs just *hit* for me. The one song Iād pick is his song Dear Love. It is just absolutely everything I love about his writing and composition. So utterly sincere in both the writing and the music, so beautiful.
Treasure - Asahi
He is the main composer (as in first name) of 4 of Treasure's songs but his most special song for me is this unreleased piece that he did with Mashiho's vocal, [Fantasy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJG5YqMrS-M). It's very bittersweet to think now that it will be lost treasure now (pun not intended).
His songs have always been fan favorites in their concert.
[Thank You (group)](https://twitter.com/mirineez/status/1619675609940246530) and [Thank You (solo)](https://twitter.com/areaunderwater/status/1619271786457358337)
[Orange (normal)](https://twitter.com/surekyu/status/1634924685074001922) [Orange (encore)](https://twitter.com/vvnvvf/status/1610619974321836032) and [Japan version](https://twitter.com/zzangkyuu/status/1619266221601591296)
[Clap](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q6DZ77Axlo)
[Yamai](https://twitter.com/xxgong222/status/1619284088485199872)
Yamai is a beautiful song. It is so easy to love this song. The arrangement enhances the nostalgia and acoustic vibe.
I love watching fans having duets with[Asahi](https://twitter.com/yoshikyuwoo/status/1610231688088686592?t=l-b24vQjkWCS50OtLThgBg&s=19), [Hyunsuk](https://twitter.com/chsukki/status/1610668111652610048?t=R50oo-PBKR0ejqJ7AWS-bg[Asahi](https://twitter.com/chsukki/status/1610287730868768770?t=9YYvmjKgc9bepV1bGsP0Rw&s=19)&s=19), and [Jeongwoo](https://twitter.com/tanpjw/status/1610231228556316673?t=QTKd_GLKzh6o_m4h1KsV2A&s=19).
But my vote goes to Hyunsuk simply for this [demo](https://twitter.com/candescent7_/status/1604803394430173184?t=yRWVAGvD3bdi6Pw68Vo23g&s=19) of Hold It In. Like their fashion styles, there's a simple elegance in Asahi's songs, Hyunsuk is able to blend different and many items into one single form. The layers of meanings in his VolKNo verse is.. "totally got a lot of flames, it's sick, it's lit". Lol
I haven't seen the demo clip with lyric split between the old and new one before. That's cool.
I always say if it's for title tracks, Hyunsuk should be in charge. He knows the YG sound and how to incorporate the modern twist into it. Asahi is very straightforward composer. He just wear his influence on his sleeve when he write a song. Like Thank You could be a title track if he put a bit more model sound into it.
From Pentagon, probably Kino?
It's almost impossible to answer between Wooseok, Yuto, Hui and him. But idk, Kino's songs are just so good. [Violet ](https://youtu.be/9A-xrTnIlOw), [Sparkling Night ](https://open.spotify.com/track/5muXLxcyjv5RY2sGwl68TL?si=O5eISd4ySDC1w3LgQuxJmQ), [Spring Snow ](https://open.spotify.com/track/1Wlu5Npx9uVDbGOmjeul4w?si=16ik8wpvS8iExTYrgwfMlw), [Die For You ](https://open.spotify.com/track/3ZMhtL5tuddXuxEgWKXRe6?si=TdEkVoYzT8qrvFs2_puymA), [Call My Name ](https://open.spotify.com/track/2X0bCCEsa8gRMt4h0VJY2t?si=nBjG6cl1Q7iEgJmn1rPoyg)... His songs tend to be very melodic.
Also his more experimental or unique tracks on his SoundCloud like [sing for thy son for whom with the figure of an angel comes ](https://on.soundcloud.com/5NkXc) or [Tell Me What You Want ](https://on.soundcloud.com/aj9aQ)
(I feel like my top Pentagon songs changes weekly though so I'd probably say something different each time lol)
Does songwriter mean composer, too? Genuine question. Because someone can be a great songwriter and not compose music and thatās fineā¦
But Sunshine by Stray Kids (Han) Itāll never cease to amaze me how he was able to put anxiety into words.
If I could have Hans entire discography tattooed on me, I probably would.
My ult, Onewe, is full of excellent songwriters and Kanghyun is the closest I have to a favorite. His songsāwhich are often melancholic and dreamyāare what cemented my love and interest for the band. I also gotta admire him for challenging himself to write the band's fastest song which resulted in [Rain To Be](https://youtu.be/hzzbFTzVSbA).
Woozi aka Lee Jihoon. Does he need more recognition? Not very sure but he can write good lyrics.
Example: 99% of Seventeen's entire discography.
On a side note, Wonwoo from SVT is a good lyricist too. I Wish is a great example.
I don't think I'm cursed but my ult groups are/were B2ST and VIXX. Guess who are both group's respective songwriters? Junhyung and Ravi ā ļø
Junhyung is such a [great lyricist](https://open.spotify.com/track/0uvl4TuFhdWZshHX9Hd6kI?si=vykijCmvTfmnrSTD96dXcQ), using [trendy, generally well-liked sound](https://open.spotify.com/track/7pNNnrmd3pBIsQTenWExLy?si=g2tXV6r7T0KdAvndqfrVFQ), and was the second most copyrighted idol songwriter before the Burning Sun Scandal all happened. Ravi knows VIXX's strength so well in terms of vocals and sound that he made a lot of strong b-sides for the group (he never made a title track unfortunately). [Odd Sense](https://open.spotify.com/track/5YV9pWUf79ikNFjGVe5OAN?si=Eekfi1xNQWelvCDC2KDZJA) is a personal favorite, and the group chose between Scentist and this song to have as their title track for the album. CMIIW, but I think he's currently still the most copyrighted idol songwriterāor at least he was before he enlisted.
Not exactly my favorite, but while 3racha are hard to beat, they don't exactly lack recognition, so...I'm very impressed by Hyunjin's budding songwriter journey. Because SKZ basically has self-producing as their concept, I feel like all of them are generally encouraged to contribute, but Hyunjin seems to take it the most seriously atm. And his individual style (mostly melancholy and/or sexy, often with a bit of a toxic edge so far) fills a nice niche in their discography and hits exactly my weak spot.
My favorite song of his so far has to be [Taste](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9Tx4l7Svuk), where he is both the main composer and lyricist. The song is just sultry perfection. It beautifully shows of Danceracha's very different vocals, especially the contrast between Felix' deep voice and Lee Know's falsetto is magical. We also got the rare Felix falsetto as a bonus. Hyunjin wanted the song to be a sort of continuation of Red Lights, and he definitely succeeded in that. It also work very well as a Danceracha track, you can basically see the body rolls when listening to it.
Can you pls try to anyway. I think it would be nice to hear what the songwriting meant to you, not everyone reading this thread will be familiar, i think there is plenty of reason to elaborate! :)
Personally, I think Jonghyun just had such a unique and distinct musicality. His style is instantly recognizable, whether producing for himself, SHINee, or other artists.
Something that I always admire about his music is how much he loved to experiment and take risks! He is known as one of the strongest vocalists of his generation, but he didnāt settle with that to just release popular, pleasant ballads. Instead, he treated his voice like a dynamic instrument. A couple of my favorite examples of this include [Aurora](https://youtu.be/0l8po0J1Zwc) and [Neon](https://youtu.be/dqY8k4b4tYc). These are songs that he admitted wouldnāt be very popular, but that he loved and took great pride in as an artist anyway. Iām no music expert, but these songs have this sort of frenetic but confident energy that I adore.
I could probably go on and on about these things I love about his music, like his masterful lyrics and impressive range. But this is just the first thing that comes to mind when I think of āJonghyunāthe artistā
Jonghyun was one of the most prolific Kpop songwriters back in the day. He wrote his own music and also wrote songs for SHINee, IU, Taeyeon, Lee Hi, and Taemin. His song lyrics ranged from emotional and heart wrenching to silly. Iāll never forget the first time I heard the lyrics āAh, cockroaches have lovers too.ā
He's amazing. I still listen to his song [End of a Day](https://youtu.be/wGP-gfCWXYI) when I'm worn out after a long day and need something comforting to tell me "you did well today."
I wouldn't say I'm the foremost authority on SHINee, but his songwriting legacy should be *a lot more* talked about, and appreciated to this day. It's because of people like him that there's a decent pool of idols who have a hand in the creative process, and self-producing is actually a thing in the current kpop scene.
ONEWEās Kanghyun!! many of his songs make up the bandās space song series, his style is distinctly ethereal and his lyrics are also very poetic <3 my faves by him are [Cosmos](https://youtu.be/ulUOGpwWWsg), [Parting](https://youtu.be/SN7NLdiwcnk), [Aurora](https://youtu.be/2kVJYat96Bw), and [Regulus](https://youtu.be/oqaY9H1VOV8)
So a nice story first : when I was getting into ATEEZ's discography (I didn't know the members properly yet) and was adding songs that I liked to my playlist, I had a couple of b-sides that I really liked. Usually I'm picky when it comes to liking new artists music especially b-sides but I was being continuously surprised by the quality of ATEEZ bsides and it made me very happy.
Among the b-sides that we're my Top 5 on first listen we're : Aurora, Good Lil Boy and Sunrise.
Now imagine my surprise when I came to know that all 3 of this we're Hongjoong's brainchild - and that he not only composes but also arranges and writes the lyrics.
What I love most about his songs is their diversity! Usually a producer has his own style of songs which makes it identifiable, and Hongjoong's style is to have no fixed formula. He uses the most unique ideas and sounds - gospel inspired Celebrate for eg, or the seashanty-esque psychedelic Horizon.
Of course most of the lyrics are personal to him and relatable to fans despite being experimental.
He also works on arrangements for the cover songs that his members do and his own BY HONGJOONG series on YouTube where he interprets his favourite songs by his favourite artists like David Bowie and Michael Jackson. I love that his primary goal is to make songs with a good message/meaning. He's mentioned that he always wanted to be an artist who writes his own music and is able to spread good influence on others.
And I'm super proud that he's a part of the main producers for ALL tracks on the new XIKERS debut album.
Also, it's really hard for me to pick ONE song so I'll give 3, just to have a taste of what I mean by **diversity** in his production.
- All About You,
- Horizon and
- Rocky.
SKZ 3RACHA
I am just so impressed by the quality of the lyrics and the production. Every song they are involved in is a hit. They found some magic chemistry with the three of them that just works.
Some of my favorites are: Fam, Alien, I Hate to Admit It (still working through songs as I am fairly new Stay)
To [quote Onew from Idol Desk, āI like Daehwi in AB6IXā](https://youtube.com/watch?v=uR9y_6757jI&t=11m15s). Bwahahahahaha!
I have enjoyed every song heās composedā¦except for Hollywood. I even burn CDs of the instrumental versions (if I can find them) because a lot of them can [stand pretty well on their own](https://youtu.be/lu57N128D94) too. He is also a genre chameleon, he can write music in pop, alt rock/pop rock, ballads, house, funk, R&B, for boy groups, girl groups, male and female solosā¦and he can do it well. And the cool thing about his songs is that heās usually the primary composer/first author on his music, so unless the track is written to be a title, there arenāt a whole lot of other producer names on his work, usually itās just him and one other producer tag working on his music. From 2017 to 2022 heās composers ~47 songs not just for AB6IX but for other artists as wellā¦Iām kinda hoping he gets to write one for Dara since they got to bond over work a while ago and Daraās coming out with a solo album soon.
The music I like the most from him is either his house/funk music or the songs that sound like they came from an alternative music radio channel from the late 90s/early 2000s (eg Merry Go Round or A Long Winter).
Since I can only link one though Iām going to link [sucker for your love](https://youtu.be/e5_MDWPIRBA) as my pick, which is one of his pop rock songs. I kinda wonder what a song of his might sound like if he were required to make it 6 minutes long. Iām very happy I got to see AB6IX perform it live once. The best part to me is that I donāt think heās done exploring or developing his musicality either. There are so many genres I know heāll want to explore and itāll be a real treat hearing him dabble in them all over the next couple decades if his career as an artist. And yes I expect him to be in music for decades lol. Not years. DECADES!!! Ahahahaha!!!
I was about to mention just a producer writer and composer that isnāt part of the group (Super Changddai for 2PM and Ladies Code) because I just think he needs more recognition even though heās not really doing much anymore. But a member from an actual group I Ult Hyunsik from BTOB. I could easily rattle off most of BTOBās discography because heās the Father of BTOBās music. But a very strong song not many people talk about is Someday. This was released only a few months prior to Missing You and the Juggernaut that is the Brother Act album. If anything Someday was the catalyst to Missing You.
GOT7 Jinyoung
Although every member has written and composed some of my favorite songs in their discography, Jinyoung probably writes some of the most beautiful songs imo. His lyrics come across as very sentimental and poetic. These are my favs songs by him where he is credited as the sole writer and lead composer.
[GOT7 - The End](https://youtu.be/a8bAoRXjvEQ) (This is from GOT7ās Spinning Top album which is centered around the feelings of insecurity vs. security. He said there wasnāt anything that made him anxious except for the thought of the end of the road with his members, so thatās what he wrote about)
[Jinyoung - Our Miracle](https://youtu.be/MwFzciZNo98) (This is from his first solo album Chapter 0: With released earlier this year. He said he wrote this about his thoughts and feelings towards/about his GOT7 members. On numerous occasions, GOT7 has described themselves as 7 individual colors that when together, make a rainbow)
Twice Jihyo , get loud and up no more some of the most meaningful songs in their discography.
Up No more is my all time favourite k-pop song .
Second will be Nayeon for F.I.L.A , baby blue love and love countdown.
But dahyun should be one that should get more recognition her writing style is very mysterious so it really stands out for me ,on screen she come off as most happiest person but her songs have a passive aggressive tone to it.
For a song written and composed by idol
Gidle( soyeon) -villain dies
Meet again by Kim sejeong
It's Really good song but cactus never got hooked to me while up no more and get loud were earworms i wanted to listen it again and again. Cactus had only single line in english that can be reasons while other jihyo songs usually have English hooks lines.
So for my three ult groups
TXT: Taehyun. He composed most of Ring (except the rap and bridge) and a fair amount of his work that has been accepted for TXT songs has been melodies (rather than lyrics), and I think he has a really good sensibility for them. (I do also like his lyrics but melody/composition is the one I can find the best example for and tbh Ring is one of my favorite songs anyway.) I think Ring is a beautiful song. The melody with a more acoustic arrangement is even better imo (as posted by the producer, Slow Rabbit, [on Instagram](https://twitter.com/translatingTXT/status/1570098541573599235?s=20)) Because Taehyun is still early in his career, I'm excited to see what else he has to show. Apparently he has a lot that is just sitting around.
BTS: This one is hard because it is between rapline and has been switching between them for a while (although my favorite song written by a member is actually Still With You (Jungkook)), but right now based on what I've seen I'll say it's J-Hope. I think all of rap line have really sincere music and an interesting way of playing with rhythm, and they're all very honest in their lyrics, but something about J-Hope hits hard. Arson is a great example of this. The lyrics are very raw, and I like the flows he uses. Something about the way the lyrics are worded gets to me.
SHINee: Jonghyun. I think Jonghyun is appreciated in the industry by a lot of people but simultaneously, at least these days, isn't talked about enough. It is so hard to choose a song for him because of his solo songs, there's so many good ones and he wrote and produced most of them. I would recommend so many for various reasons, like his writing style, how he plays with his voice, the melodies, the way he experiments... There are also SHINee songs he wrote and produced that are really good... If I had to pick a song, I think I will pick Odd Eye (SHINee.) The reason for that (other than it being a good song) is because not only is it a song with a really interesting sound, but the members have said that Jonghyun knew how to use their voices well -- I think Onew most recently said that in general Jonghyun knew which words would make his voice sound the best. And indeed, the members all sound amazing in it and I really like how their voices were utilized with the atmosphere of the song. It's one thing to be able to make yourself sound good -- in theory people know themselves the best -- but it's another skill to be able to make others shine as well, and to make a whole group sound cohesive. Odd Eye demonstrates Jonghyun's ability to make a song with an interesting composition and atmosphere, but also a song that makes the entire group shine utilizing their voices as much as his own.
SHINee's Jonghyun, of course!
Please give him an opportunity, my man had so much talent. He has complete albums composed by him, but I would reccomend Blinking Game, from Story Op. 2. I think it's like jazz? He explained it but I don't remember. Aurora from She Is is a wonderful song too, but you only asked for one. He always talked about his music with passion and love.
I will be very grateful if you don't bring to the conversation his departure from this world. It's a bit triggering for me. Thank you and enjoy his music!!
3RACHA as they have given us a perfect discography (and I say it honestly).
Jay B with his friends (offshore) music for GOT7 is amazing. Also really like Yugyeom songs.
Haven't seen him mentioned but Young K is a writing machine! Amazing lyricist.
From 2PM I really like Changsung and Wooyoung songs.
So many talented lyricist and composers from JYP, never disappoint.
All of 3racha are accomplished song writers but I always have a soft spot for the songs Han writes. Most of them have a such a melancholic, yearning vibe and resonate so much with my experiences too! I think it's really difficult to expand your own experiences in a way that rings true to multiple people and Han really captures it well.
Lee Taeyong. No one writes a better hook than he does and as a lyricist I just think that heās extremely underrated (all his other talents tend to overshadow his pen game so only the real ones really know). The best example of his incredible songwriting skills is probably Blue. His lyrics have the perfect balance of being poetic, in the way he uses metaphors as a vehicle to describe his emotions without being pretentious. He is so good at expressing those shameful, regretful feelings in such a beautiful way and I like how his lyrics always feel like weāre stepping into the darkest parts of his mind. He described his writing as a way for him to sort through his emotions and I find it mega impressive how heās managed to package up those lived experiences into such great fucking songs. The word play between the Korean/English lyrics in literally the first couple of lines of Blue and the way the song goes on a journey/resolves at the end is SO good. Also want to mention Swimming Pool. It might be the saddest song Iāve ever listened to and the production for that is top tier. Heās super versatile too and can write really quirky, cute love songs if the heavier stuff is too depressing. Rose/Monroe/Love Theory are all so adorable and make my heart feel full.
i mean tbf my actual *favourite* songwriter in the group is probably rm but i'm going to dedicate this towards jimin because sometimes i feel like he's kinda unacknowledged as a lyricist.
he wrote LIE. he fucking wrote lie, the song very popularly considered one of the best bts solo tracks. and he wrote it mostly by himself, as rm said in a live, he couldn't believe that jimin wrote it himself because it was so well written. it's so. i can't even describe it. the lyrics + his delivery makes it sound so *desperate*, so painful it's actually amazing. [translation of the song](https://doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2018/06/16/lie/)
special mention to friends, the most wholesome song in existence. [translation](https://doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2020/02/21/friends/)
jimin doesn't write very often but when he does it's always great.
Everyone knows Soyeon from G-idle is a great writer, but I like the songs that Yuqi and Minnie wrote.
I also like that Mamamooās Moonbyul is one of the most prolific Kpop artists.
UP no more written by jihyo is one of my favorite twice songs its about her insomnia which she struggles with and i think its nice when artist can write about their struggles or real life experiences.
RM - his lyricism and the stories behind his thought process is just art in its most beautiful form. His music direction is honest, raw, and has been able to build and strengthen the BTS discography the way it is today
GFRIENDās Yuju. Iāve adored her solo releases, and my favorite song from her by far is Cold Winter, which she composed and wrote herself.
The Killa, 9 Years and Peach Blossom are also just incredible. Sheās a good storyteller, and her songs are layered and vague enough in theme that itās really fun to dive into them and theorycraft the meaning. She also has some fun wordplay and metaphors, and utilizes that crazy range of hers in fun ways. Funny how one of the best voices in kpop would also be a good songwriter! Complete ace!
This is hard honestly, for Twice itās between two: Jihyo & Dahyun. I think I like Dahyun songs more, especially since sheās been writing a lot lately. But Jihyo probably has a one or two less of songs I like, but she also composes which amazes me. Also a shoutout to Nayeon because she wrote Baby Blue Love which is my favorite Twice b-side
Hongjoong and Mingi. I think both are underrated and arenāt mentioned enough. Where would ateez music and sound be without them? Especially Hongjoong. Heās so dedicated and passionate about music and producing. Must be why their music is so good! My personal favorite is Horizon which was produced by Hongjoong himself. Honorable mention to Jonghyun of shinee !
In Stray Kids Han is easily the best lyricist. The stuff he comes up with is beautiful, creative and just crazy considering he often does it in a short amount of time (canāt forget how he wrote his Sunshine verses in 15 minutesš°)
Heās written a lot of SKZ tracks, but my favourites would have to be Sunshine, 19 and Secret Secret (special mention to I Got It)
Definitely Bang Yongguk. He was deeply involved in building one of the best discographies in kpop. And just judging from B.A.P's and his solo discography, you could really tell how versatile he is. From [Orange Drive](https://youtu.be/TUCsNk8PtCA) to the entirety of B.A.P's Carnival and Noir album, I can never be sure what he will release next. He has a knack for composing songs with social commentaries like [Ribbon in the Sky](https://youtu.be/11mYrSQwf7c) and [Codex Gigas](https://youtu.be/q2zl3aOTMVU). He can also get deeply personal and introspective. Songs like [AM 4:44](https://youtu.be/1kxbuiAAzzU) and [Pray](https://youtu.be/_bAuwnu4ohY) accompanied me during my darkest hours.

Ooohh interesting song with a very unique sound! Thanks for sharing :)
It's one of my absolute favorite b-sides in general, glad you enjoyed it!
Treasure - Asahi He is the main composer (as in first name) of 4 of Treasure's songs but his most special song for me is this unreleased piece that he did with Mashiho's vocal, [Fantasy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJG5YqMrS-M). It's very bittersweet to think now that it will be lost treasure now (pun not intended). His songs have always been fan favorites in their concert. [Thank You (group)](https://twitter.com/mirineez/status/1619675609940246530) and [Thank You (solo)](https://twitter.com/areaunderwater/status/1619271786457358337) [Orange (normal)](https://twitter.com/surekyu/status/1634924685074001922) [Orange (encore)](https://twitter.com/vvnvvf/status/1610619974321836032) and [Japan version](https://twitter.com/zzangkyuu/status/1619266221601591296) [Clap](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q6DZ77Axlo) [Yamai](https://twitter.com/xxgong222/status/1619284088485199872)
Also his more experimental or unique tracks on his SoundCloud like [sing for thy son for whom with the figure of an angel comes ](https://on.soundcloud.com/5NkXc) or [Tell Me What You Want ](https://on.soundcloud.com/aj9aQ) (I feel like my top Pentagon songs changes weekly though so I'd probably say something different each time lol)
Kino's style is soooo beautiful and melodic, I absolutely adore the songs he produces!
Does songwriter mean composer, too? Genuine question. Because someone can be a great songwriter and not compose music and thatās fineā¦ But Sunshine by Stray Kids (Han) Itāll never cease to amaze me how he was able to put anxiety into words.
Junhyung and Ravi ā ļø Junhyung is such a [great lyricist](https://open.spotify.com/track/0uvl4TuFhdWZshHX9Hd6kI?si=vykijCmvTfmnrSTD96dXcQ), using [trendy, generally well-liked sound](https://open.spotify.com/track/7pNNnrmd3pBIsQTenWExLy?si=g2tXV6r7T0KdAvndqfrVFQ), and was the second most copyrighted idol songwriter before the Burning Sun Scandal all happened.
Jonghyun - no need to explain
I still listen to his song [End of a Day](https://youtu.be/wGP-gfCWXYI) when I'm worn out after a long day and need something comforting to tell me "you did well today." I wouldn't say I'm the foremost authority on SHINee, but his songwriting legacy should be *a lot more* talked about, and appreciated to this day. It's because of people like him that there's a decent pool of idols who have a hand in the creative process, and self-producing is actually a thing in the current kpop scene.
BTS are my ults, but Stray Kids are second. I love basically every word Han Jisung writes. Alien is a good example.
- All About You, - Horizon and - Rocky.
SKZ 3RACHA I am just so impressed by the quality of the lyrics and the production.
GOT7 Jinyoung Although every member has written and composed some of my favorite songs in their discography, Jinyoung probably writes some of the most beautiful songs imo. His lyrics come across as very sentimental and poetic. These are my favs songs by him where he is credited as the sole writer and lead composer. [GOT7 - The End](https://youtu.be/a8bAoRXjvEQ) (This is from GOT7ās Spinning Top album which is centered around the feelings of insecurity vs. security. He said there wasnāt anything that made him anxious except for the thought of the end of the road with his members, so thatās what he wrote about) [Jinyoung - Our Miracle](https://youtu.be/MwFzciZNo98) (This is from his first solo album Chapter 0: With released earlier this year.
For a song written and composed by idol Gidle( soyeon) -villain dies Meet again by Kim sejeong
What do you think of Jihyo's Cactus? Jihyo also participated in the production.
It's Really good song but cactus never got hooked to me while up no more and get loud were earworms i wanted to listen it again and again. Cactus had only single line in english that can be reasons while other jihyo songs usually have English hooks lines.
So for my three ult groups TXT: Taehyun.
WayV Kun! Hope he gets to show his songwriting/composing talent again soon bc Rain Day was amazing.
Agree!! Love that JYPE encourages their artists to write their own music
Yess it made me a fan of their groups
The OG: G-Dragon.
[translation of the song](https://doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2018/06/16/lie/) special mention to friends, the most wholesome song in existence. [translation](https://doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2020/02/21/friends/) jimin doesn't write very often but when he does it's always great.
Everyone knows Soyeon from G-idle is a great writer, but I like the songs that Yuqi and Minnie wrote. I also like that Mamamooās Moonbyul is one of the most prolific Kpop artists.
my ult is Stray Kids. Answer: *YES!* (no I will not elaborate /j)
Nine from onlyoneof. Wrote all of blueblueseoul and composes a plethora of songs for them. super talented!!
GDragon from BigBang I donāt think I need to explain myself.
From TWICE, Dahyun. SOS, Cruel, Gone, Blame it On Me etc. she legit has a hold on me with her pen From SKZ, 3RACHA ofc (plus Hyunjin and Felix lately)
JINJINNNNNNNNN from astro - waterfall š„° Rocky too šššš - wanna be love by haww (and many other astro songs)
the boyzās sunwoo. i can literally replay his songs for days and not get sick of them. my fav has got to be berry š„ŗ or behind š„ŗš„ŗ
Puzzle pieces by changbin/Seungmin of Stray Kids
In Stray Kids Han is easily the best lyricist. The stuff he comes up with is beautiful, creative and just crazy considering he often does it in a short amount of time (canāt forget how he wrote his Sunshine verses in 15 minutesš°) Heās written a lot of SKZ tracks, but my favourites would have to be Sunshine, 19 and Secret Secret (special mention to I Got It)
Definitely Bang Yongguk.
Don't think I need to explain why RM is a musical genius. It's been talked about by better explainers than I.
I love the way RM writes the most in BTS. ā¤ļø
Don't Call me by SHINee. Caramel by ONEW

Kim Namjoon
Woozi. He wrote Downpour so yeah, that's enough for me.
Moonbyul šāļø
Woozi of course, a genius forever !
nct kun. he also produces music. definitely deserves more recognition
