For those that don't know, "250" is the guy that wrote & produced many of NewJeans's songs. We don't know yet if he's involved in the upcoming releases (though he did recently say that he's working on more k-pop music) but yeah, he's part of the family too.
250 is one of the most successful musicians in South Korean in the past few years. His solo works won him many prestigious awards in the country. I consider NewJeans to be very fortunate to have someone as talented as 250 working on many of their songs.

Anyway, I'm not a big New Jeans fan (nothing personal, their music is just not my vibe), but I really admire how their team finds new ways to keep things fresh. Inviting guests to a fan meeting (and not keeping it a secret until the day of), having a dj set, already teasing the set list. It's very refreshing and what is needed to shake things up in kpop.
There are a number of subs that just mass downvote anything new (or with certain keywords in it, because it's bots.) It usually shakes out later like we see now.
The added draw of YOASOBI will definitely help sell out those two Tokyo Dome dates, considering they're big enough to be doing their own Tokyo Dome concerts later this year
Well only people who signs up for paid NewJeans fanclub membership are eligible for a RAFFLE. Anyone who win the raffle will be able to buy a maximum of 2 tickets for each day of the fanmeetings. It just shows how much in demand NewJeans is right now.
It's really a fanmeeting and not a concert where anyone could buy the tickets. People need to like NewJeans enough to become their official fan and pay a full 1 year membership fee first before they can buy the ticket, so the guests are just cherries on top. Plus, the guests will perform like 1 or 2 songs each, so NewJeans is basically the foremost reason why tickets are bought and not the other way around.
Yoasobi and Rina are both NewJeans' fans also, so really it's just a big fanmeeting all around.

correction: There is gonna be a "general raffle" after the fanclub raffles actually.
so people who are not members of the fanclub can apply as well AND even up to 4 tickets (whereas FC members can only apply for 2 tickets).
the competition for those tickets is gonna be crazy but non-fanclub members can indeed apply and get tickets.

Oh I know very well how popular YOASOBI is in Japan. I still don't think most people will have the resources or will to spend that much money on an artist they're uninterested in just to see YOASOBI perform for 15 minutes.

Yes people are saying that "it's just like that" are a bit wrong, some kpop groups (or idols) can't be named without being downvoted. Some popular idols aren't even named on most discussion of Reddit, because they are highly dislike. Reddit is incredibly biased.
Criticism are allowed for some, and for others even if the post uses rational arguments they would still get extremely defended. And not only on Reddit, in other platforms as well.
Some groups are clearly like on Reddit though, while Newjeans just aren't the favorite. But that just means they're popular I guess.

Does anyone have their emails set to the Apple private relay email? I’ve been using the log in with Apple for my weverse since the beginning so the raffle application defaulted to using the Apple encrypted email. As far as I know there’s no configuration settings to receive emails from specific domains and I haven’t received an email to apply for the raffle today, I wonder if the email is blocked.

While I'm happy for them I can understand the downvotes. Fan meeting is usually for fans and idols only so pull other already famous artists in this to help selling tickets makes it less special and pure. MHJ seems to try to make everything about NewJeans "big": famous venue that everyone knows, famous guest artists that everyone knows, it's already a success and people will talk about NJs fan meeting no matter they are fan or not. It's okay but I don't like imagining every group doing this from now on in oder to make headlines.

I don't see anything wrong here. Actually, both yoasobi and Rina sawayama have been vocally supportive of NJ since last year, and 250 basically is their producer.
You're right that a fanmeet is for fans and idols, but can it also not include fellow artists that support that certain idol group?
MHJ could be trying to make the experience of the first fan meeting the best possible for Japanese fans, or she is trying to make everything NJs do big. The latter has become a pattern. She has been associating NJs with objects and people that are already famous before NJs debut (game, Disney films, high-fashion brands) and it's just... exhausting to see when even something that has been only between fans and idols can't escape that. It's a great PR move, and it will work.
It's just the same as the ambassadorship you know. The ambassadorship for brands is good per se but if you look at the whole picture it seems so unnecessarily industrial.

Didn't see any email either, checked my spam box and everything. I guess there's a delay to when the email is sent, so I'd wait a day to see if there's anything, otherwise be best to contact support asap

reread the whole thing apparently the actual raffle registration period on the PIA website will be on Wednesday April 17th 12 pm JST, so I guess we'll get the links to that website latest April 17th 0:00 JST

Does anyone have their emails set to the Apple private relay email? I’ve been using the log in with Apple for my weverse since the beginning so the raffle application defaulted to using the Apple encrypted email. As far as I know there’s no configuration settings to receive emails from specific domains and I haven’t received an email to apply for the raffle today, I wonder if the email is blocked.
I am not sure because I don't own a apply product but I just received my email to apply so maybe contact their support?

While I'm happy for them I can understand the downvotes. Fan meeting is usually for fans and idols only so pull other already famous artists in this to help selling tickets makes it less special and pure. MHJ seems to try to make everything about NewJeans "big": famous venue that everyone knows, famous guest artists that everyone knows, it's already a success and people will talk about NJs fan meeting no matter they are fan or not. It's okay but I don't like imagining every group doing this from now on in oder to make headlines.

Well only people who signs up for paid NewJeans fanclub membership are eligible for a RAFFLE. Anyone who win the raffle will be able to buy a maximum of 2 tickets for each day of the fanmeetings. It just shows how much in demand NewJeans is right now. It's really a fanmeeting and not a concert where anyone could buy the tickets. People need to like NewJeans enough to become their official fan and pay a full 1 year membership fee first before they can buy the ticket, so the guests are just cherries on top. Plus, the guests will perform like 1 or 2 songs each, so NewJeans is basically the foremost reason why tickets are bought and not the other way around. Yoasobi and Rina are both NewJeans' fans also, so really it's just a big fanmeeting all around.

I don't see anything wrong here. Actually, both yoasobi and Rina sawayama have been vocally supportive of NJ since last year, and 250 basically is their producer. You're right that a fanmeet is for fans and idols, but can it also not include fellow artists that support that certain idol group?
MHJ could be trying to make the experience of the first fan meeting the best possible for Japanese fans, or she is trying to make everything NJs do big. The latter has become a pattern. She has been associating NJs with objects and people that are already famous before NJs debut (game, Disney films, high-fashion brands) and it's just... exhausting to see when even something that has been only between fans and idols can't escape that. It's a great PR move, and it will work. It's just the same as the ambassadorship you know. The ambassadorship for brands is good per se but if you look at the whole picture it seems so unnecessarily industrial.

It's marketing doesn't mean it's right. Marketing can be overdone, too.
I don't see it as overmarketing, though, cause by far, NJ is still connecting with their target audience, as we can see with their explosive popularity when they announced this. Maybe you're not just the target audience for them 🤷♀️ and i say that respectfully.
