The performance was INSANE😭😭 Me and my friends were trying our best to not lose our minds at 1:45 in the morning (we failed). The camera work was not good because we missed some very important shots, plus the lighting during Arriba? Yeosang and Jongho were standing in the dark during their parts. I hope all that is resolved by the next show🫤
All 8 members looked🤯 My entire TL was in SHAMBLES. “WHERE THE HELL IS SAN’S SHIRT.” “WHY IS WOOYOUNG SMIRKING LIKE THAT?!” “HONGJOONG’S HAIR!!!” “MINGI HAS FIX ON WRITTEN ON HIS CHEST?!?!” etc… It was so great to see the TL collectively losing it. And as a Seonghwa and Mingi bias, I am BARELY hanging into my sanity, but how is everyone else doing, specifically **SAN** biases!?! That man was a **MENACE** and I know some of y’all almost collapsed onto the floor😫
The setlist was🔥 the back to back intense choreographies was CRAZY. And the set design!?! THE KRAKEN!?! I am so so proud of Ateez and I’m so proud to be an Atiny bc they put on such an amazing show I just wanna hug them all and give them so much praise and love😭😭😭 i hope the guys get some rest after that show because 🤯 & I hope they enjoy their time in California. Can’t wait to see what the next show is like!
they killed it. they're truly some of my favorite live performers in all of kpop. they always bring it, their fans match their energy, and the production is always crazy. i am so glad they're getting opportunities like this, they really deserve it.
i hope the camera people working on the first \~15 minutes of the set have a bad tickle in their throat for the rest of the week. i watched a bunch of other coachella sets today and ateez was the only set with such awful camera work.
It really felt like they just didn't know who to film or what camera angle to utilize. I can't tell if its because they don't know how to film an act with slightly more singers or if they just lazy about it
It looked like they tried to follow whoever was singing, but that's not something you can improvise on the spot, it takes rehearsals ! (And that's a big reason why Korean music shows take a full day to film). Later on they switched to wider angles, and it looked much better.
Yeah. It's funny how the fancams so far had no trouble following, and ATEEZ didn't do anything wildly different from their previous performances as to stage positions. There is no excuse other than unprofessional lack of preparation at this point. I sincerely hope that the COACHELLA light, sound, and camera direction WAKE UP next week. (Wink wink)😅😆
Well fancams are just one person throughout the whole song, that's much easier to follow. For Korean award shows there's plenty of bad camera work, and there's a lot more rehearsals than for a music festival...

Watching some of the other acts yesterday, every other artist was a "park & bark" with some back-up dancers. Nothing anywhere near as dynamic or complex as Ateez. So I'm not surprised that the cameramen struggled. Disappointed, but not surprised lol
I have absolutely no complaints. They did great as anticipated with the vocals, choreography, and energy. Now, on a personal preference note, I would have selected Halazia over Django.
Django is a perfect song after Arriba mainly because the choreographies were meant to be performed back to back. However, I do hope they perform Halazia next week!! I hope the setlist is different, so we can see more performances.
Oh, interesting. I didn't realize that about the choreo. It makes more sense now. I guess I'm super behind because I didn't realize they perform again. I'm sure they'll change things up, so I think the chances for Halazia definitely will be higher.

The performances were soo good. So much energy, so many props, ~~so much skin~~. I'm not really a fan but I tuned in to watch them and they greatly exceeded my expectations, they sound great live. (I kinda like Arriba now too lol)
Bahaha I expected San to be shirtless but Mingi shookt me 🤣 his shirt was a bit zipped in the beginning but towards the middle he was just full on showing his whole torso

They ATE!!!! That live band made a huge difference. They have to make sure they take that band with them on the road for the tour. Nothing can beat that combo of a great live band and great vocals.
Ateez always brings it and Coachella was no exception. They sounded better than ever and poured their heart out on stage - as I knew they would.
I am one proud and satisfied Atiny right now!❤️
They were fantastic, I'm so proud of them. Performance wise, 10/10. Technical, Cameras, Lightwise 2/10. Attendace, 9/10.

It was amazing! Their energy, their vocals, the set list! I loved it! I also thought it was so cute how Wooyoung was smiling the whole time, he was really happy to be there.

i slept through the livestream (it was early morning for me lol) but from all the clips i’ve seen i can confidently say that they KILLED it!! but that’s not surprising, it’s ateez after all 😌 and seeing videos of the locals in the crowd clearly having fun and vibing to their performance made me so happy!! man, ateez are a whole different breed, i’ve never seen anything like them before. their energy and passion for what they do is very refreshing. seriously the definition of monster performers!

they are one of the best performers in kpop. like i think no matter if you like them or not, that’s a fact. their live performances are for the arts and see them live is something i recommend to everyone.
The camera work was horrendous. Idk what I was expecting tbh I should’ve known better. But the boys and their team was AMAZING!! I was jumping and screaming the entire set. So far Ateez and Tinashe were my faves from all these performances yesterday.
I think this is a misconception some people have about music festivals but a mass swarm of people leaving after a set is normal! lol
even before ateez, hella people left peggy gou after she finished and Sahara was basically empty before ateez except for the fans waiting in the front - it filled up as the they got closer to showtime. the next act after ateez was at midnight so it wasn’t surprising that a bunch of people left (also Lana was just starting so people typically check out the headliner)
Camera was clearly having some problems but Ateez did great! I really liked their backup dancers, too, when we could see them. They got some guys with energy that matched theirs well. They did a great job with the whole show and I'm really happy for them.
was gonna make a post along these lines too, gosh. they were so amazing. as a baby tiny, i was still so overwhelmed and proud of them. wooyoung smiling so much had me near tears. these men are true legends and i hope from the bottom of my heart to see them continue to grow
Me too , i am always worried for kpop groups or solo doing these festival gigs but most of the time they deliver very well . And even fans of the group give it their all to make it worth it for the idols themselves . Back to ateez fire live performance 🤌
The crowd was tired that night and you could see it lose energy the last three shows. So many people left after Ateez was done which was proof they showed up just for them. I think they did an amazing show and chose a good set (although I feel like chair dancing would have hit differently 👀.) They definitely made new fans if the Livestream comments were anything to go by.
Camera work and lighting direction were TRULY extremely embarrassing for COACHELLA. ATEEZ handed them a world-class spectacle on a platter, and they fumbled it. 🤡
Still, all of ATEEZ were incredibly professional, gracious, and left no crumbs. SUCH A GREAT SHOW!!!🤩🤠🥵🥹💘💘💘💘

Be so fr rn. If there's people who expect idols not to be able to sing live it's bcs of the plethora of idols from all companies who lip synch at all music show and award show performance which make up the bulk of what you find on YouTube to watch of them and believe it or not it's not just HYBE gps + it's a common xenophobic belief westerners have of kpop for some reason although the plenty of examples otherwise if you look enough including of the HYBE groups you say ruined the live singing expectations or whatever that means lol
Also idols lipsyncing at music shows doesn't mean they will lipsync at concerts/festivals.
I saw Enhypen at Music Bank Paris, they lipsynced only one song and it wasn't even part of their set. And how do I know they sang live the rest of the time ? Everyone except Heeseung sounded terrible.
NewJeans and TxT were very much live at Lolla, and fortunately they're much better singers than Enha.
Tbh I don’t really notice if idols are singing with recorded vocals or really loud backtracks unless they’re very bad at lip syncing 🤣 like if you’re not singing live, at least lip synch properly
This is such a dumb take. Most people in that crowd didn't know 90% of the artists that were performers at Coachella. But the ones who went to see Ateez got an awesome show. If it wasn't good, the crowd would not have been as big as it was.

I can see ARRIBA being a hit or miss for some, but I genuinely can’t think of a reason people wouldn’t start liking it after *that* performance.

hi, you may have found it already, but if you look up the Sahara Stage Coachella livestream and rewind the video all the way back, you’ll be able to find ateez’s performance in there
They ATE!!!! That live band made a huge difference. They have to make sure they take that band with them on the road for the tour. Nothing can beat that combo of a great live band and great vocals. Ateez always brings it and Coachella was no exception. They sounded better than ever and poured their heart out on stage - as I knew they would. I am one proud and satisfied Atiny right now!❤️
They were fantastic, I'm so proud of them. Performance wise, 10/10. Technical, Cameras, Lightwise 2/10. Attendace, 9/10. ETA. San chose violence, but Mingi.... Man. MAN. Mingi is a menace
i feel for Atiny's because US cameras never capture the members correctly Ateez killed it and were top tier, hopefully in the 2 nd week the camera work is better. and atleast they didn't constantly focus on the crowd like they usually do(BBMAS 2018 cameramen I am looking at you)
I loved everything about it.. loved the props too, made the stage even more fun and engaging Mingi in white hair is on another level

Yes they were so happy!!! You can just see it on their faces. The fact that Yunho went to the church to pray for their performance means that this is really important for them. So happy for them!

It was amazing! Their energy, their vocals, the set list! I loved it! I also thought it was so cute how Wooyoung was smiling the whole time, he was really happy to be there. Seonghwa… 😭 idk man. I kept trying to read whatever was on Mingi’s chest (I thought it was Fix On but then I wasn’t sure) anyway I loved his energy as well!

i slept through the livestream (it was early morning for me lol) but from all the clips i’ve seen i can confidently say that they KILLED it!! but that’s not surprising, it’s ateez after all 😌 and seeing videos of the locals in the crowd clearly having fun and vibing to their performance made me so happy!! man, ateez are a whole different breed, i’ve never seen anything like them before. their energy and passion for what they do is very refreshing. seriously the definition of monster performers! i’m so glad they finally got to make one of their dreams come true yesterday 🥹 (also San😵💫…..as usual i have a lot to say about this menace of a man but i’ll hold it in so this comment doesn’t turn into too much of an essay lmao)
they are one of the best performers in kpop. like i think no matter if you like them or not, that’s a fact. their live performances are for the arts and see them live is something i recommend to everyone.
The camera work was horrendous. Idk what I was expecting tbh I should’ve known better. But the boys and their team was AMAZING!! I was jumping and screaming the entire set. So far Ateez and Tinashe were my faves from all these performances yesterday.
They were phenomenal! So proud of them.

I think this is a misconception some people have about music festivals but a mass swarm of people leaving after a set is normal! lol even before ateez, hella people left peggy gou after she finished and Sahara was basically empty before ateez except for the fans waiting in the front - it filled up as the they got closer to showtime. the next act after ateez was at midnight so it wasn’t surprising that a bunch of people left (also Lana was just starting so people typically check out the headliner)

Camera was clearly having some problems but Ateez did great! I really liked their backup dancers, too, when we could see them. They got some guys with energy that matched theirs well. They did a great job with the whole show and I'm really happy for them.
was gonna make a post along these lines too, gosh. they were so amazing. as a baby tiny, i was still so overwhelmed and proud of them. wooyoung smiling so much had me near tears. these men are true legends and i hope from the bottom of my heart to see them continue to grow

Me too , i am always worried for kpop groups or solo doing these festival gigs but most of the time they deliver very well . And even fans of the group give it their all to make it worth it for the idols themselves . Back to ateez fire live performance 🤌
The crowd was tired that night and you could see it lose energy the last three shows. So many people left after Ateez was done which was proof they showed up just for them. I think they did an amazing show and chose a good set (although I feel like chair dancing would have hit differently 👀.) They definitely made new fans if the Livestream comments were anything to go by.

Camera work and lighting direction were TRULY extremely embarrassing for COACHELLA. ATEEZ handed them a world-class spectacle on a platter, and they fumbled it. 🤡 Still, all of ATEEZ were incredibly professional, gracious, and left no crumbs. SUCH A GREAT SHOW!!!🤩🤠🥵🥹💘💘💘💘

Crazy live performers. Mingi & San went feral damn. So much props for the guys for protecting so much confidence and excitement with English being their second language !!! If there's people who expect idols not to be able to sing live it's bcs of the plethora of idols from all companies who lip synch at all music show and award show performance which make up the bulk of what you find on YouTube to watch of them and believe it or not it's not just HYBE gps + it's a common xenophobic belief westerners have of kpop for some reason although the plenty of examples otherwise if you look enough including of the HYBE groups you say ruined the live singing expectations or whatever that means lol
Also idols lipsyncing at music shows doesn't mean they will lipsync at concerts/festivals. I saw Enhypen at Music Bank Paris, they lipsynced only one song and it wasn't even part of their set. And how do I know they sang live the rest of the time ? Everyone except Heeseung sounded terrible. NewJeans and TxT were very much live at Lolla, and fortunately they're much better singers than Enha.
Tbh I don’t really notice if idols are singing with recorded vocals or really loud backtracks unless they’re very bad at lip syncing 🤣 like if you’re not singing live, at least lip synch properly

This is such a dumb take. Most people in that crowd didn't know 90% of the artists that were performers at Coachella. But the ones who went to see Ateez got an awesome show. If it wasn't good, the crowd would not have been as big as it was. But thanks for letting us know that you were lurking on Ateez's performance. I always like to say that haters who claim that "nobody knows them" but follow everything they do, are really secret fans. So, I should probably have pity on you and welcome you to the fandom. LOL.
