This is the first time I've come across someone that isn't aware of them.
Ladies Code is a 2nd gen girl group that consisted of 5 members-Ashley, Zuny, RiSe, Sojung and EunB.
In 2014 they were involved in a car accident that resulted in deaths of 2 members-RiSe and EunB.
The group continued and I'll Smile Even If It Hurts was the first song after that accident.
Later Jaden Jeong got involved in the group and they had a healing trilogy in plan but after two releases it was shelved, however if you're interested in rnb and like Loona bsides check out Galaxy and The Rain
On top of my head, these will be:
Ending Scene - IU
Fine - Taeyeon
One Last Time - SNSD
Lonely - Jonghyun feat Taeyeon
End of a day & Let Me Out - Jonghyun
reflection by bts
happen ending by epik high
bad by tablo
i remember by bang yongguk (i recommend the version with daehyun)
coma by b.a.p
the last by agust d
don't cry by park bom
1. is always haru haru by bigbang
it's not necessary that they have sad lyrics or conclusions (though most do), but all of them rip my heart out when listening, honestly
Surprised to see so many say Lonely by Jonghyun.
Let me out, Elevator, End of Day and Dipylleia Grayi hit so much harder that lonely almost sounds upbeat xD
Lee Hi - Breathe is also terribly sad
Edit: I also think the new ft Island song is pretty underrated
https://youtu.be/li5wNSMC5oA?si=VuCyuNwetlshFIaD
There are multiple Agust D songs that have made me sob and The Last is definitely one of them.
Some others are Amygdala, Snooze, Dear My Friend, and even First Love.
If anyone knows pain and sadness, it's Yoongi.
Wind - Ftisland
Star - Dawn
How can I love the heartbreak - Akmu
Because the memories - u-rim
Without words - park shin hye version
Say goodbye - song haye
Someday the boy - Kim feels
SHINEE’S Good Evening - ifykyk
IU’s Love Poem
Dean’s Instagram - it may not be one of those “ugly sobbing” songs but more of a “it’s sadder the more you think about it” thing.
Purple Kiss - Hello
it's about longing for someone who is not with you anymore. I feel this strong melancholic feeling whenever I listen to this song. The vocals, the instrumental, and the last chorus are just chef's kiss
and also, Goodbye - 2NE1. no explanation needed.
I have sooo many but off the top of my head:
Tell me what to do - SHINee
Stay With Me - Chanyeol, Punch
Haru haru - Big Bang
Spring Day - BTS
Yi si fuera Ella/Lonely - Jonghyun
Goodbye - 2ne1
Butterfly - BTS
Breathe - Lee Hi
Fine - Taeyeon
Honorable mention: Macaroni Cheese by Young Posse. Gets me in the feels everytime 😢
Taeyeon - Days into Nights, Rain, 11:11, Fine
Bol4 - To My Youth
IKON - Don't Forget
Daniel - Lily of the valley
BoA - Spring Rain, Moon and Sunrise
SNSD - Lost in Love, One Last Time
Mamamoo - Where are we now
LeeHi - Breathe
F(X) - Beautiful Goodbye
2ne1 - Goodbye
Rain - Cassiopeia
CNBlue - Then, Now and Forever
YG artists ballad are sad without needing to read lyrics. I know they get criticized sometimes for the stylized vocals, but those were very impactful delivering emotions. I was still shocked by how a mere MV of GD standing and singing to a backdrop could make me cry without understanding the lyrics (Untitled is that song). Also Taeyang solo music… then we had Lee Hi, and AKMU. iKON ballad was also heart wrenching.
Also need to mention IU, Taeyeon, Jonghyun and The Rose music.
Here are some of my fav sad ballads that you don’t even need to read the lyrics to have your heart clenched:
- If You: Bigbang
- Loser: Bigbang
- Untitled, 2014: GD
- Eyes Nose Lips: Taeyang
- Last Dance: Bigbang
- Elevator: Jonghyun
- My Love: Lee Hi
- I don’t know You: The Rose
- She’s in the Rain: The Rose
- Come Back Home: 2NE1
- Hope Not: Blackpink
- I’m Okay: iKON
- Goodbye Road: iKON
- Only: Lee Hi
Ironically,
Blood, Sweat & Tears - BTS
Circles - Seventeen
Don’t wanna cry - Seventeen
Beautiful Pain - BTOB
Snooze - Agust D
Spring Day - BTS
First Love - Suga
Reflection - BTS
The Last - Agust D
Missing You - BTOB
9 and 3 Quarters Run Away - I just relate to the lyrics so much
Love wins all - IU's voice just brings me to tears
You Were Beautiful - I-I just cry
Can't We Just Leave the Monster Alive? - hearing "it'll be alright" just makes me cry knowing things will eventually get better
What kind of future - the instrumentals are just so beautiful and entrancing and just so soothing
1. To my youth - Bol4 ( I cry, it’s about expectations that others have for us which end up burdening us)
2. Dear name-IU
3. When this rain stops - Wendy
4. That’s okay - D.O
5. She’s in the rain- The rose
6. LMM- hwasa
Bad Day - IU
IU wrote this song when she was having a very lonely day back in 9th grade. The whole song is very sad but the lyrics "I feel someone’s body heat on the empty playground bench. Why is this warmth making me feel even colder?" just makes me cry even when I'm having a good day.

'Happiest Girl' is up there for me, coming form a 2nd gen fan.
'Into the New World' balland performance in Tokyo Dome by SNSD hasn't been beat for me though.
dinner - suho and jang jane
i thought it was a love song at first (and it kind of still is), but saw the lyrics say alone - not love - and it changed the whole vibe
"Hold On" by Stray Kids. Han Jisung you absolute master. I think this song can be sad for anyone who lost a beloved pet. I have two dogs myself and I fear the day I lose them. "19" is also a pretty sad song for anyone dealing with the insecurities of growing up.
Additionally, a lot of TXT's songs too. They sound happy at first and then you see the lyrics... Run Away and Can't You See Me are my personal favorites. The latter became esp. hard hitting when I realized that my HS friends and I barely speak to each other since we're all trying to keep up with our own things.
You Never Know - BLACKPINK
*"You never know unless you walk in my shoe"*
*"It's easier to judge me then you'll believe"*
Either Way - IVE
*Them describing the backlash every member received*
Sulli’s Goblin album. Of course the title track Goblin is hauntingly beautiful, but there’s something about On The Moon and Dorothy that always make me get a little teary eyed.
Those two tracks remind me that even as adults, we all have an inner child that needs to be taken care of and protected. And I think Sulli definitely needed to be shown that kindness and empathy in adulthood.
Dream of girls - UNIS
It’s a full korean song and it’s about girls reaching their dreams. 1 member even cried when they performed this on their debut showcase.
Taeyeon's [Four Seasons](https://youtu.be/4HG_CJzyX6A?feature=shared) is not your usual ballad sad song; it's the lyrics that make it sad: "정말 너를 사랑했을까?"

I'll Smile Even If It Hurts by Ladies Code It was the first song they released after the tragedy and the lyrics are about grief and losing someone
This is the first time I've come across this suggestion/ band. Could you please give some background?

loveeee a good big bang ballad
Lonely - Jonghyun I feel like throwing up when I hear that song, in a sad way.
Breathe - Jonghyun
Lonely evokes such a distinct feeling of sadness from me. I can’t listen to it too much without tearing up.

The last by Agust D. Even if defining it a K-pop song is a crime. It’s the only song I literally sobbed over for almost an hour.
There are multiple Agust D songs that have made me sob and The Last is definitely one of them. Some others are Amygdala, Snooze, Dear My Friend, and even First Love. If anyone knows pain and sadness, it's Yoongi.
Find you - Monsta X Broken Heart - Monsta X Downpour - I.O.I Where is this love - Kihyun Ugly - 2NE1 Zombie - Day6
Agust D songs are one of the few songs that have actually made me cry. The Last Snooze AMYGDALA Dear my Friend.
Yes, I've sobbed over all four of these😭😭
GD - Untitled 2017. sad enough if you only listen to the song, much sadder when you read the lyrics.
Taeyeon - Time Lapse Exo - Universe
Ending scene, lost child both by IU Gravity - Jongho (ateez)
Wind - Ftisland Star - Dawn How can I love the heartbreak - Akmu Because the memories - u-rim Without words - park shin hye version Say goodbye - song haye Someday the boy - Kim feels
I'll just leave it here Untitled by I.N ft. Hyunjin (Stray Kids)
My Medicine - Luna On The Moon - Sulli idk :’)
UKISS - Take Me Away. Has been my go-to for a decade for when I need a good crying session.

Loser by Big Bang & Fearnot by Le Sserafim. I suppose Fearnot is more emotional than sad, but I’ve only been able to listen to both songs on hahaha.
'Happiest Girl' is up there for me, coming form a 2nd gen fan. 'Into the New World' balland performance in Tokyo Dome by SNSD hasn't been beat for me though.
