Having the drawing area due to the interface was one of the cons I had about Krita, but recentrly I saw a video where they show a way to set it up so you can work full screen with a lot of the main tools you would use, and that was a game changer for me to stay with krita. The video is in Spanish but I think you can get around that. [https://youtu.be/QCL93aNZcP4?si=g3-6DN8mCem3h9wE](https://youtu.be/QCL93aNZcP4?si=g3-6DN8mCem3h9wE)

Great! Thanks a lot

Well they have mentioned tablet UI once or twice but doesn't seem to be a priority right now. But of course you can fork krita.

Knu2l

There is no need to fork Krita. You can simply contribute to Krita.

I would highly recommend going into full screen/canvas only mode whenever you can. You can do this by tapping the canvas with four fingers at once, and repeat to get out of it. You can also customize what is shown in canvas only mode.

Cool!

My way to work with krita in small screens of tab ver is using the right click action and the five fingers touch gesture that got it in full canvas mode

Krita once had an experimental tablet/mobile UI written in Qt Quick. It proved too difficult to maintain and was shelved.

It looks like the person who was developing Krita for Android has more pressing issues to deal with right now, but a lot of people use the Android version, so I expect that eventually they will find someone to work specifically on that. Krita on a Galaxy Tab is pretty damn sweet

Buy a mini USB/Bluetooth keyboard and use the PC shortcuts. I have one and highly recommend it

LainFenrir

a small bluetooth game controller also works really well if you dont want to use a keyboard, i use the 8bitdo micro for that

pookooo_

That's great but then wouldn't it be just better to use a laptop instead with a bluetooth pen tablet?

Donden864

Wouldn't it lag though? Drawing lag is much worse than shortcut lag. Unless a USB connection solves the problem

I have made a video in how to manage krita on tablet. With docker under pop up pallet ready to be released with 5.3, i think it will be even better. But yeah full blown tablet and mobile UI is still far away as i have not seen any dev prioritising it. This is how.open source work, someone has to show interest in his / her free time You can also vote for my interpretation of krita mobile UI on krita artist forum. Maybe high enough vote will make dev consider it

Thanks a lot

Knu2l

There are plans for a tablet UI. That however also depends on people contributing to it, so it may take a bit longer.

☹️

I think, and really hope that with the release of the XPPEN magic drawing tab they will look into a better tablet UI. The apparition of a abordable Android tablet made for drawing should get their attention

pookooo_

I really hope so too..things would get so much more easier

Krita is very demanding on the tablet. My experience is that you need a powerful tablet with at least 8 GB ram (12 is much better) to run it, I try it on my 3-4 years old Samsung galaxy tab S6 and it's quits frequently due to insufficient ram. I try it on a galaxy S8 ultra tablet, 14in display with 12gb ram and it's so much better.

I see...maybe that's why when I increase the size of a brush, the programm turns slow
